Hi, guys. I have an SC-02G. And I'm from the Philippines. My problem are the docomo apps and the phone is still locked. I really want to get rid of them and get the phone unlocked here. So I researched for ways to remove the docomo apps, from what I've gathered, they all say that I have to root the phone and flash a new ROM. But I have no idea on how to do those things. As for the unlocking, I have to pay for the service of a technician to unlock it. But he said I have to downgrade to Lollipop first before he can perform the unlocking. I researched again but came up with nothing. I'm just a newbie. I'm really sorry but I need help from you, guys. Thanks!!!

Hey guys I won a Xperia T and tried to get the phone unlocked but I believe I accidentally entered the wrong unlock code to many times, I wanted to know if rooting the phone and installing a Rom will solve the simlock problem?

Rooting won't solve that!
Maybe a custom Rom could!
You never know until you try!
Btw get a proper code again and unlock it!

Nope. The lock on the sim card is separate from anything the ROM does. You'll have to contact your service provider to get an unlock code. Assuming the phone is legitimately yours, it is a very simple and quick operation.
Hello, my name is Armando. This is my first post here, and I only have one question. First of all I want to say thanks to all you guys, I've found a lot of useful stuff here for my phone Ok, let's go for it:
I recently unlocked my Huawei Y511 to use it on any carrier, and it was succesful (I didn't unlock it by myself, a repairman did it). The problem is... my phone still got all the original carrier stuff (boot animation, some crappy apps and sounds) and I want to delete all of them. I rooted my phone before the unlock (temporary root which I found in this same forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276) and I leave all the stock ROM untouched before the unlock. I noticed that the guy who unlocked it used a "unlock box" named "SigmaBox" and he told me that my phone was able to be unlocked directly, without needing to wipe and reinstall all the software (I give him the phone, then one hour later I have my phone all unlocked, and it was the same way it was before it).
Now my question is... if I install a new ROM or whatever... will I lose my sim unlock?
I don't understand how he unlocked the phone, all I know is that he did a "direct unlock" but I don't know if he used unlocking codes. All I know is that he used some kind of USB box connected from my phone to a computer, and did his magic and surprise, phone unlocked.
Do you know what kind of unlock is this? And how does it work?
PD: Sorry for my bad english, my native language is spanish but I'm trying to improve my english skills (so I didn't use a translator).
I don't know much about unlocking. But I'm pretty sure that you won't loose the unlock status if you flash custom rom

Thanks for your reply, and yeah, I think you are right.
After doing a little research, I found that a "direct unlock" is basically the generation and input of unlocking codes generated by both IMEI and carrier code, and the unlock box generated three codes which only one of them worked and the phone gets unlocked. So, my phone is
unlocked for ever and I won't lose my unlock status even if I install/update/reinstall the ROM.
If any of you guys know something else about this unlock procedure, please let us know!
Hi guys, well the thing is that I'm planning on getting the T-Mobile variant of the Z3 (D6616) but I would like to know if there is a root method for Lollipop?, since the update is already out. I have have searched all over the internet looking for answers but I couldn't find anything (only for KitKat; I know the LP update was released almost 2 weeks ago). I don't if there's something else necessary (apart from getting root access) to be able to SIM unlock this phone, I don't care about custom ROM's, kernels or any other kind of mod that requires the bootloader to be unlocked. Like I said, I just want to SIM unlock it and use the root access for Titanium Backup and maybe disable or delete the T-Mobile apps. Thanks in advance.

Yes there is root for it but I doubt you will be able to sim unlock it unless you pay full price for it from tmobile and us the sim unlock app that's on the phone already.

That's the problem, because there's no way to officially get the Z3 from them (they only have the original Z and the Z1S and the only way to get one is from eBay) and I'm not a T-Mobile costumer. I would like to know if it's possible to get it unlocked with a third party unlock service.
I just bought one for use on AT&T and I'm also looking to sim unlock. I'll update when I find out more.

If you are one AT&T better to get international version as the 700 Mhz LTE band is different from the TMO version's which is TMO specific. (Band 12)
For indoor use that makes a big difference in signal.
The low bands have better penetration. I am on T-Mobile so for me it's an advantage to use the D6616.
The D6603 (international) supports AT&T 700Mhz in addition to the others.
As for unlocking TMO version, for me I had to call TMO as the app did not work. They will only unlock after 40 days of device use on your account. It's done over the air...
So give it to a TMO customer for temporary use and unlock assuming IMEI is not blocked.

hi
hi, already posted same reply in another sim unlock thread.
i have a d6616 tmobile version and bought the unlock code, non able to input the code, and not able to unlock with the stock app, dual recovery installed and rooted already, is there a way to put the simunlockapp.apk in the system and then using titanium backup pro, to make it internal so after rebooting, simunlock code prompting?
or to flash a rom that prompts the code
or is there any metropcs z3 rom that surely can be flashed even with locked bootloader to tmobile version?
any help
than you very much indeed

Same boat. I bought a brand new one with film on it. But it was a phone only, no box or accessories. IMEI was a separate sticker (4 pieces). I tried to unlock a legal way but T-Mobile rep told me it's not in their system. It has printed T-Mobile logo in the back. I also tried official unlock app without success. They advised me to call Sony directly and ask what carrier it belongs to lol. Great phone, much better battery than G3 but unlocked phone is a must. I decline phones with 2k screens. I can't see no difference between Z3 and G3 screens.
Just prior to reading this I'm letting you know I live in Australia
My Grandma bought a Samsung J1 Mini (SM-J105Y) from Coles and it's locked to Vodafone and she's with Optus, she asked me if I was able to unlock it for her and I said yes. I said yes assuming I'd be able to find what I needed to flash the kernal and ROM however it doesn't seem like there's as much support as I'd expected. Was hoping someone could help me out? If anything I might be able to find the stock firmware but not kernal. I'm not sure how locking phones to certain carrier's work anyway so I just assume I need to flash the kernal and ROM?
HI there
@FateDreadnaught don;t know if you've figured out unlocking from your carrier since you posted about it, if not here's what you need to do:
Go to the Vodafone Australia site and search for Unlock phone, all the information on what you need to do and the links on how to do it will come up there.
Unfortunately it is not free, if the phone is less than six months old, you will need to pay $50, more than six months $25.
When you use the unlock tool, answer YES when asked if you bought the phone from Vodafone, otherwise they will say to take it back where you got it from, and I guarantee you Coles won't be able to help.
oh and DO NOT TRY TO ROOT/FLASH AN UNLOCKED PHONE, IT WILL BRICK!

You currently cannot unlock any US version of this phone.
Never
so this phone is impossible to aquire root permission ?
Yes. It is impossible to root (unlock bootloader) currently. This phone may never be rooted. Brought one for my spouse, she does not need root. When I found out that it cannot be rooted, I passed on buying one for myself. Nice phone.
Yeah but its about the challenge of discovering the formula. You guys always find away when we get a good thread going, and put are ideas together.
Plus got rid for of my verizon firmware and flashed the usa unlocked

at least i could get rid of all the verizon bloatware and most of samsung bloatware too but phone really not compatible with other network providers, it prompts me for verizon network unlock code if i put a diferent sim card att and sprint.
You need a sim unlock to use a different carrier. Check with Verizon. People that purchase this phone should not expect it will be bootloader unlocked.
Well that sucks, but your wrong I did network unlock without any codes, I just changed the apn settins, i didn't pay nothing to no one. And it is possible to unlock bootloader if u got 65 dollars, any Samsung usa variant from s9 and up https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...unlock-for-samsung-us-canada-devices.4215101/ or here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/sampwnd-usa-model-bl-unlock-info-u-u1-w.4201689/ , but I can't afford it so im going to have to figure it out on my own like usual, plus I only payed 15 dollars for this phone and the screen is already cracked, I know how to replace it but Samsung screens are such a pain and expensive, im waiting to find something worth wild on offer up so I can finish trashing this one.
