That's correct. I just called boost & they too said it will work just no 4g until they get 4g. Some people pay extra to "flash" the phone.

Root then download wifi tether app. Grant Superuser access you should be fine.

they can't check, data is data. Its just being relayed through your phone. If its rooted and your using a 3rd party app, there is no way for them to know, unless your using excess amounts data, then they might get suspicious
That is completely wrong the data packets received from the computer is 1 less than the phone therefore of your blacklisted they check your data packets and if the 1 less is received they know your tethering

AT&T Tethering Crackdown - Have you been served?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Friend of mine on an unlimited plan almost got bumped to a 5gb plan cause they caught him tethering and listed the IPs of connected devices. Hey may have been using the att tether not a 3rd party, not sure on that.

They are able to see if it's tethered by analyzing data packets that are sent by the phone

Well I guess it's time to stop being cheap and pay for something you use

I don't know if it's being cheap or not, but I never understood how tethering can cost AT&T more if you don't go over your data limit. How you use the 3gb shouldn't determine what you get charged. Just my opinion.

Agreed, I never go over, and if I wanted to tether once in a while, while on the go I should be allowed to. If I go over ny data, I would pay for it.

Anything to rip off the customer, but yet most of us picked them. I'm my area at&t is superior to Verizon, and we don't have sprint, or T-Mobile, so I can't complain much.

Since we're talking about data, I can attest that the data speeds I get in my area on AT&T are so much better than Sprint and Verizon. Don't know about T-mobiIe. I can't ever see leaving unless something strange were to happen.
Sorry to go off topic.

Doesn't seem that complex. Put Atrix in lapdock, fire up webtop, turn on WiFi, connect to the One X hotspot. Bigger screen and full keyboard, USB mouse, 4G speeds, and the work day will suck a little less.

I've read a lot about the Nexus 4 & have heard little to no negative things about it. I've about done had it with my one x right now, It's a good phone I just like change, a lot of change. What should I do? I have an upgrade soon & I'm about ready to just order a Nexus 4 7 a Nexus 7. Any thoughts on any other phones that could be better?
I'd wait for tomorrow with HTC new line up and then in March for Samsung's. I wouldn't get the nexus personally right now as I'm sure Google would be releasing another this year. Plus no lte is a huge no for me.
