[APP][2.3+] Critical Velocity - A side scrolling arcade style game. - Android Apps and Games

Hey everybody!
To God be the glory, I've been making some custom roms on XDA for a while, but I have decided to try to learn some new things by taking an app developer course. I've made a few apps, and I thought I would share them here as well. This app is open source, you are welcome to go to the Github and post issues, review and or copy the code (it is Apache-2.0 licensed), or download the app and enjoy!
These are my first apps, and I know they need a little improvement. So please feel free to leave a comment! But please remember, the best criticism is constructive.
If you do check out my Github, note that just about every line of my code includes a comment as to what it does or why it exists, so if you are like me and new to Android programming, be sure to check it out to see how it works! Also, in my Github are many "small apps" in the "apps_small" repo, which are apps I either made for the class, or made on the side to test out some feature or function. Hopefully that would be useful to someone.
Without further ado:
Critical Velocity!
This is a classic arcade style, side scrolling app. You are the captain of a small spacecraft that is trapped in an underground tunnel of a planet that is collapsing. Your ship is damaged and it is all you can do to keep the spacecraft aloft. As you travel through the tunnel you pick up speed and travel becomes more difficult!
This is not an unending tunnel, though! Once you reach 25,000 points you will find the exit! Can you make it Captain?
Best of all, this open source app has NO ADVERTISEMENTS!

Outbreak! 2

Hi All!
So last year I created a thread here about an app that I had just released. I got a lot of great support from this forum so I though I should come back and give an update about the latest version!
It's now available from the market, and there have been a lot of significant changes. So here are a few screenshots:

The premise of the game is the same as always. You play the game on a map view, using you actual location. Zombies must attack survivors and vice versa. As a survivor, when a Zombie gets your health down to zero you will turn into a zombie. If you are killed as a Zombie you can respawn as a survivor.
The game has a leveling system, so you can level up as you attack users, and increase the range with which you can attack.
I'm also working on some pretty major features at the moment, as I want to integrate real world locations ... but that's all I'm going to say on that for now. I think the biggest news, however, is that there is also an IOS version in the works ... not that any one here would care but you will be able to distinguish between android and IOS users, and attack accordingly.
There is also a facebook page where I post pre-release versions of the app for people to try out.
I have thrown together a temporary website (while I try to find time to do something proper), which explains the game a little more. I have made a pre-market version available here, which has all of the latest features.. just waiting for a good time to go live on the market.
As always I would love to get as much feedback as possible!
Thanks & Enjoy!
Hi,
Nice app!
I gave it a try today.
I was lucky enough to find a player in my neighborhood but unfortunately he was a zombie, like me.
So my first suggestion would be to allow to respawn as an opposite kind.
Because basically I just cannot play since the closest other player is > 100 km from me!
Cheers.
Thanks! If you email [email protected] with your user name I can add some NPCs in your area. This is a beta feature so I ask people to request.
Cheers,

Version 1.5
What I am wanting this to be is a very basic RPG with multiple maps and NPCs and possibly monsters... but that's just my plans
The game now is very basic anyway, it has no graphics except for the obnoxious icon which I need to figure out and the player is just a @ sign, the map is very easily modifyable though, you can edit the map in map.lua by adding array objects and then build the app via the Corona SDK that you can download here.
It is currently on no app store (I am planning to put it on Google play when I get the money to make a developer account) but you can download the app here :
https://www.dropbox.com/s/tdnmq6uwg0lj6r2/Wall Space.apk
#1 edit! There are now text dialogues you can use with getTold(string) ! You can get the latest version on github!
#2 edit! Now there are npcs and an action button! Walk up to a "#" sign (who is an npc) and press the action button to get a text! You can adapt this feature easily by getting the newest build on GitHub.
The app is written in Lua using Corona Sdk and is currently in version <I lost track, you need to look in the config.lua to find the changelog>
The official github page of the project is here :

Aaaand you can view a preview of the 1.5 here!

Is this planned for a medieval styled of look to it? I see a lot of people using corona sdk, it must be really great.

No, I am planning for it to be a very basic RPG with battles like Pokemon or something, and yes, corona SDK is very simple, you just write a bit of code, and run it in the simulator, it even has its own bloody physics engine!
You can view the physics engine in action here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AJS1z3bXuc
I just updated the app with new features. Check the main post.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT-SO-EVER HOW TO REMOVE THAT BLACK BAR FROM THE RIGHT OF THE SCREEN.

[APP] Food Truck App, first app in Play Store. Looking for support and feedback!

Hi everyone,
I hope I am posting in the right section.
I recently released my first personal published app to the Play Store. It has ads, but those will soon be removed - chose to include them to learn how. I also have my code as open-source if anyone wants it.
Link is at the bottom of this post.
My app is unique in that it does several network requests to foursquare api and google places to aggregate and populate a listview.
My favorite and most exciting feature was implementing a compass AND pointer using sensors, gps data, and a lot of math. Took me a lot of hard work just for this first main version.
The compass always points mag North regardless of which way you turn and also has an arrow that points at the moving target based on real-time sensor/gps/API data.
Still a few bugs that but I'm taking a break from the app so I can come back in a few weeks and refactor + add new features.
This app will display real-time interactive location data for food trucks/trailers/food stands etc.
It should work on any device at any orientation. My custom interpolation makes a smoothe compass/pointer.
Any feedback and support would be greatly appreciated as I am job hunting and it isn't easy by any means, as some of you know. The more I can implement changes/feedback from reviews (hopefully) and/or here, the better prepared I'll be for Dev positions.
Thanks to anyone that downloads the app. You guys on this entire forum are awesome; I mostly use it for updates on kernels and roms, but first time I'm posting on a published app in the Play Store. Thanks everyone.
Cheers,
Justin

[APP][4.0+] MATHTools v0.1

So today I'm publishing my first app! :]
MATHTools is a collection of handy tools for high school (and early university) students who deal with math.

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It all started as a small weekend project in Feb 2013; but I started experimenting and adding features little by little and continued to make it better. MATHTools is a tiny open source app that offers a handy set of tools in a nice, clean and modern interface.
As I got into university, the app was left off for a while, but I decided to publish it and work on it again if others also find it useful.
I'll need your help to make this app better and further usable. So, your feedback is always welcome. Please use the "Feedback" option in the action bar and tell me which features you would like to see!
Here's a list of currently available tools:
Vectors:
- Vector Multiplication ( dot and cross product )
- Vector Projections (2D/3D - scalar and vector)
- Line Analyzer (2D/3D - parallel/skew/identical/intersecting lines)
Geometry:
- None (yet)
Trigonometry:
- None (yet)
Calculus:
- None (yet)
As you see, three of the four sections of the app don't have any tools yet. I have a couple of ideas in mind, but I will definitely need your help to prioritize them. For instance, would you like to see cheat sheets as well, or do you prefer the app to be focused on actual tools?
As mentioned earlier, MATHTools is open source, so, contributions are much appreciated! Feel free to browse the source code on GitHub: https://github.com/aminb/mathtools
More screenshots on Google Play (for some reason can't attach more here right now).
So, please download the app and give it a try; I know there's quite a bit missing which I'll be adding over time; and let me know what you think!
EDIT: Here's an imgur album with a couple of screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/NAenI
