GPS notification issue - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I have mate 9 and lately every time I'm closing my location service (from the notification panel) I'm getting this popup message:
"device location based for all apps is turned off and you may not be able to locate your device"
I didnt get this message in the past.
can you tell me what cause this message to popup and how can I configure my device to ignore and not poping up this message evertime I'm closing the GPS?
Thanks for helping

Some applications require location information and location service enabled. I think some background apps should check and show that message.

I understand that but I didnt install anything new that cause this message to popup. and before it didnt popup the message when I close the location service

There will be something running in the background that needs GPS on.
Close all apps and see if it still happens.

How to disable the "Cannot Connect" popup notification?

Did anyone manage to disable this annoying "Cannot Connect" popup notification?
Disabling "Display message on screen" for events "Connection disconnected" and "Connection established" via the Sounds & Notifications settings has no effect on this particular message.
I found a few threads related to this issue but none of them propose a working solution.
EDIT: I'd also like to know if I'm the only one occasionally getting this message. I face this every few days.
me too.
when my balance is zero or under zero, numerous gprs applications, like quickgps and weather-widgets keep knocking to internet every minute with such a message.
the only way to shut them up is to turn off phone or to raise balance over zero.

SMS Notification popup gets disabled

My SMS Notification Popup gets disabled automatically and the SMS Sent report gets enabled automatically a short while after setting them up. What should I do? Any Idea what might be causing this?
I thought it's S2U2, but then I uninstalled it and the problem is still there.
Bumping.....

security notice notification email xchange

my brothers phone he received the other day , installed exchange apk for his email client ever since then he keeps getting this notification
so am pretty sure it has to do with that.
unknown scorces is turned on
Security notice
unauthorized actions have been detected
normally with notifications you can long press and hold the notification from lockscreen , click on the small "I" (info) and it will open up notification settings for that particular app and you can turn off show notifications . however this is not on option on his device.
I triple checked knox is disabled in settings and also in smart manager , it still wants him to accept user agreement if he goes to turn it on , it;'s never been activated.
anyone have any other ideas ?

Hangouts - Notifications

I thought I would just post this here, it's both my question with my answer as a work around that I found...
My question/ Problem is that my Hangouts Notifications weren't always coming through. Hangouts (and Gmail) is not displayed as an application in my "Notification Center" (in EMUI 4.1). ((I was also trying to turn off the banner display, which I find incredibly annoying. )) It's like it doesn't exist on my phone. Too bad it's a system app, so I can't uninstall and reinstall it. I tried rolling it back and updating it to get it to show up, but no luck. Because it wasn't showing up, I couldn't change it to be a priority notification. (I had already set it to protected in the battery manager with no luck.). My question is: How do I get it to show up in the notification center so I can adjust it?
My work around is to change the notification through the "Apps". I toggled it to be a "Priority Display" and I was able to turn off the banners. Hopefully that takes care of the missing notifications. I'm sure it will take care of the annoying banner.
Has anyone else experienced applications missing from the notification center? For beta testers, is this fixed in the EMUI 5?
My notifications work perfectly fine for Hangouts and Gmail. Like you said, I have the applications setup as being protected. And yes, Hangouts and Gmail may not show up in the notification center, but if you go to Settings>Apps>Hangouts>Notifications, it gives you the option there, including setting as priority. Try that and see if it works for you.

Question LenovoServices is running

The past few updates and now this "Lenovo Services" app is now constantly running. I've tried to force stop it; nope. I can't "mute" the notification.
Any of you even know what this app is? When did it get installed and for what purpose is it there?
Thanks.

I've been regularly updating (Xiaoxin Pad Pro / P11 Pro) but never encountered "Lenovo Services". I do have "Device Service" (package name com.lenovo.lsf.device) which wants to connect to AliCloud in Germany a couple of times per day. I don't allow it on my software firewall (currently NoRoot Firewall), so no notifications from there.

I just double-checked and it is indeed there. I will post a screenshot if that helps you. Furthermore, I'm unable to uninstall it or remove the notification that it is running.
I checked the app, and it has no permissions granted other than "draw over other apps" but nothing for storage or location or contacts.
I'm on a US device if that makes a difference. Someone here must have the same thing I would assume?
I do have the same service running on mine and unable to hide it from notifications.
Time to go play in the Registry...
At least there is a way to "hide it" see here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo...ervices-is-Running/m-p/5083807?page=2#5447336
swipe down to see the "LenovoServices is running" notification and tap on it, it goes to the app settings page
Here you have 2 options
tap on Force Stop, it stops the notification but also the service itself (which is probably not a big problem, I've received an update, today, with this service killed). No notification in the status bar, no notification in the pull-down
Or
tap Notifications, DownloadService
there you see two main options, Alerting and Silent, it's on Alerting
switch to Silent and tap Minimise, notification gone from status bar but it's still in the pull-down, service still running

Good info. Thanks. Although still no explanation as to what it's doing or, how it got on there in the first place.
