I'm planning on it, but not until next March, or so. I have to get my tax refund back. I skipped the 2nd gen and the Moto G 4G.

The first thing you should check is the Frequency Bands used in your country and by your Carrier / Network:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UMTS_networks#Europe
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks_in_Europe
It seems that XT1550 should work almost without problems in Europe. There is lack of support for B20 band, but everything else is same as in EU version.

Yes, I was going to say there probably would be no problems with XT1550. Maybe Amazon.es has Asian / Indian phone importers?

Not IPTV. The mentioned HDTV is similar to a conventional free over-the-air analog broadcast, but it's got a signal that translates to digital data.

XT1550 Dual-SIM 2GB RAM | 16GB Storage is available from Flipkart (India): Black | White ($203 | 184 Euros)
Does anyone know a US / European importer?
Motorola have removed LTE Band 12 from the specifications for XT1540. First post updated.

Unfortunately I don't have access to a 2GB handset. You could start a new thread in 'General' called something like: Performance comparison - 1GB vs 2GB
Remember questions are not allowed in General, but a thread showing the difference between models would be tolerated. Don't ask a question in thread title or first post. You could simply state: Please post CPU-Z results here.
Hi, I think I'm going to buy this device but I have some compatibility questions: Will 1Gb ram model roms work on 2Gb one? And will the 1Gb ram models use all the capabilities of the 2Gb ram model?

As far as I know, there is no difference between the 1GB version and 2GB version other than the amount of RAM and Internal Storage. I expect the ROMs to be exactly the same, and inter-changeable. For example; a ROM compatible with XT1540 will work on either version - with the same features / options.
hmm i dont see the XT1540 (USA / tmobile) version selling with 2GB RAM anywhere yet...
only found the 1GB RAM on amazon so far..

Do you know if the version GEM-701L is going to be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow?
Rumours of Android M for X2 are for February/March, But certainly only for Chinese version of the device. So I strongly suggest to install a 703L rom on your 701L, as strongly documented of the dedicated section of this forum
I'm a little bit confused since Amazon Germany (and probably more german online stores) are selling the 701L for quite some time now.
Greetings
Erik
is it possible to install or change the Chinese version (ROM) of huawei gem-703l to the international version (ROM) gem-701?

What for ? - it won't change the 4G bands, so what would be the advantage ? - supported languages I guess, but can't think of any other reason..

first of all thanks for replying. Let me explain the advantage,
GEM-703L is not support synchronizing phonebook and calendar with gmail.
I over come the calendar synchronizing with an app in google play, but for the phonebook I did not yet. off course this is not happens in GEM-701L because its supports all of this.
Thanks again
Does the GEM-701L work in the US.....it looks like the frequencies are similar, but just want to make sure.
Thanks
I know I can find it online, but is there a way to check(with codes?) available f.bands in phone.
I did it long time ago on mi5, but I forget and I spend all morning trying to find..

These pages state the difference between the variants.

For comparison, I use AT&T in the US so I need LTE bands B12 and B17 but also utilize B2, B4, and B5 where I can find it. For 5G, the network isn't even really built out so I could care less. So as you can see... this is not intuitive since the Global variant does NOT have the bands I need. The Chinese version is! Luckily I can speak and read a little Chinese to get my phone up and running!
Can someone help explain to me why the 'Global' variant has fewer effective bands outside of China than the 'Chinese' version? I have found that the Chinese version has the bands applicable to my provider here in the US (AT&T). However, the Global variant does not... thoughts?

My understanding is that even though it's called Global, that variant is really geared for the European markets -- since that's where it's actually sold and not places like the US where it isn't sold at all -- which is why Band 20 on that variant is such a big deal. Fwiw, I'm on Google Fi and bought the China version instead because I wanted Band 12 coverage; didn't see the point of getting the 'Global' variant with bands we don't use here. It's been working great for me.

Global = Europe? And they say the US thinks they are center of the Earth.... just kidding.
Yes, Band 12 and 17 are pretty important to me. Most international phones don't support Band 30 at all so I never get perfect coverage.
