I have already hooked up mass storage to the nexus 4. I checked usb debugging and MTP on both devices also checked OTG box in synapses for the nexus 4. Next if possible I want to hook 2 devices up through an OTG power Y cable and push and pull files with ADB essentially taking out the PC for when I mess up and have to flash a new OS. (I have access to a PC just bored looking for a different way)
The first device is a rooted nexus 4.
ROM: dirty unicorns v9.1 android 5.0.2
Kernel version: 3.4.106-hells-doctor-FrAndroid
The second device is a Samsung galaxy tab pro
Stock android OS KitKat v4.4
When I think Samsung is the host the nexus 4 shows up as a keyboard and mouse. How can I make the Samsung recognize the nexus 4 as a device??
When I switch the cables around the Samsung notification shows a media device connected but I can't find it. The Nexus 4 notification shows USB Debugging with the little monster. This is a learning process for me so if I forgot any vital info please let me know so I can quickly update. Thanks for the help and guidance.
HI,
I am trying to read/write directly to a usb otg flash drive.
Through the Android Storage Access Framework it is possible but I need a programmatical way that does not require user interaction.
Since I got root on the device, I tried a simple R/W to the typical usb-otg locations.
/storage/UsbDriveA (all Samsung devices)
/storage/USBstorage1 (LG G4, V10, G3, G2, other LG devices)
/storage/usbdisk (Moto Maxx, Turbo 2, Moto X Pure, other Motorola devices)
/storage/usbotg (Sony Xperia devices, Lenovo Tabs)
/storage/UDiskA (Oppo devices)
/storage/usb-storage (Acer Iconia Tabs)
/storage/usbcard (Dell Venue -- Vanilla Android 4.3 tablet)
/storage/usb (HTC One M7, and some Vanilla Android devices)
The Uri provided by the Android SAF
content://com.android.externalstorage.documents/document/B12Q130%3ASAMPLE
And the location provided by TWRP recovery
/storage/usb-otg
Interestingly enough, even with an inner terminal and su I can't directly access the USB files.
Although it is only possible so far with the Android SAF.
Could anybody here please point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Hi,
i have a Huawei Mediapad M5 Lite (was a stock Android 8) where i installed a custom AOSP Android 10 rom from here (tried some of there):
Flashing Successfully any GSI to Mediapad M5 Lite 10 [UPDATED]
Requirements: 1. Unlocked Bootloader 2. You need ramdisk of current version. a) Install this program from this link (you need the program installed in order to download the files) https://github.com/ProfessorJTJ/HISuite-Proxy/releases/...
forum.xda-developers.com
The issue is that if i try to install this app: USB AUDIO PLAYER PRO, it seems not be not compatible with those roms. Seems that USB OTG is not working.
So i installed this app: USB OTG CHECKER, it says that USB HOST is not working.
The last rom i installed have root privileges the i created the file android.hardware.usb.host.xml in /system/etc/privilege that was missing.
But issue is not fixed. Please could you help me?
The reason i need to use USB AUDIO PLAYER PRO is the only app to have hi-res audio streaming. Can bypass Android 16 Bit 44.1 KHz limit and go up to 24 bit 192 KHz.
Thank you.
How USB / USB-OTG is implemented is hardware specific, the related drivers are NOT part of Android OS itself, they are provided by OEM.

so fot you the only way to have it is to restore stock rom from Huawei?
USB OTG CHECKER app you ran told you the USB-hardware build into phone doesn't support USB-OTG. So what should be the reason to re-flash phone's stock ROM?

Hi to all.
I have three android devices:
1) a rooted asus me302kl modded with nitrogen os (android 8.1)
2) a stock not rooted moto g5 with android 8.1
3) a stock not rooted xiaomi redmi 9 pro with android 10
When I connect an usb pendrive under the first two devices it is mounted under /storage/[uidd] (being [uidd] replaced by the uid of the pendrive lihe 1234-5678) and I can access and modify its contents from within every app I'm using.
When I connect the same pendrive under the third device (the one with android 10), the pendrive is not mounted under /storage/[uidd] and even if I can use a file browser to navigate it, a lot of apps I'm using do not see the pendrive as available and so became useless.
Is it possible to recreate under android 10 the same behavior of android 8.1 so that when a pendrive is connected it is mounted under /storage/[uidd]? Is it an operating system bug?

Is it a problem to do the same question to the OEM too?
