Share my UI (user interface) - Samsung Galaxy S8 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello,
I have the G933N (128/6) from Korea, that I use in France.
I have discover the imersive mode (https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...e-screen-real-estate-no-root-needed-0177297/)
That's so beautiful!
I use the "full" mode.
The problem was about the acuity of the navbar to be responsive.
Finally, I have remember an "old" application that I have use on another smartphone named "Pie Control" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jun.ace.piecontrol).
If you need help for the setting, I'm there!
Enjoy the real Full Fat Screen!!!

i am using the same setup in my phone, thoroughly enjoying it

Initial impression is that its very confussing and difficult to use... it took me a while to work out what I was looking at. Don't get the widget folder as it negates what a widget is. I do like the potential concept, but this really needs a lot more thought into user experience.
To start with look at changing the folder controls to make them easier to select.
This is a very original approach and I'll going to watch this one with interest...

Often only shows black screen on HTC legend.
The dock icons are too big and there is hardly any customization possible.
But it is a really interesting idea and different from other launcher. I'll stay tuned.

We would really appreciate any more detail you can provide about Widgets. We are tweaking the UI throughout the beta program and any additional ideas or recommendations would be really helpful.

Unless I'm missing something the only place to add widgets is in the folder at the top of the screen. This limited the use of widgets... for example if I add a 2x2 clock thats all I can see and use unless I expand the folder. This is compounded by the difficulty in using the folder controls. Widgets are supposed to provide quick and easy access and viewing of apps and info you use most, currently this is lost in Claystone... If you could make widget use a little more traditional it would go a long way...
Like I said previously though the whole user experience would be vastly improved if you added larger controls to the folders making it quick and easy to expand/close etc.
Like ms_green says the dock is a little large and it makes the screen feel a little cramped.
A very short review, sorry for being blunt:
* On my Droid Incredible: great, now applications are even smaller/hard to read. UI is not very responsive. Toolbar buttons are too small but making them any bigger would mean even less real estate.
* Tablet: Ooooh now you're talking! The layout makes much more sense, especially in landscape mode. This is actually getting closer to WebOs' take on multitasked UI.
I think this app has a great future on tablets.
Ima dl right now

This is great!!! VERY GOOD!!! the concept is amazing
things u might want to improve:
The loading speed of panels are slow. Even opening the appdrawer takes no less than 3 seconds, not to mention browser etc
When u scroll vertically but a bit sideways on a panel it just pops u into another panel, very excruciating
Panels. seriously, all u can have is a home panel and a widget panel? i want to make my own (not just folders) for example media, games etc
"items" u can add. to be honest all there is is file explorer, browser and youtube (not to mention the youtube one really sucks). U need more of these "items", but i understand this is a beta
lol no offense
I could see this possibly having potential on a bigger screen, like a tablet maybe. But as it stands things feel too cramped on my 3.7 inch screen. Also things are a bit slow atm.
It's an interesting concept, but implemented in a moderately confusing fashion. The widget box resizes widgets oddly, making things look bulky, etc.
Great idea, though.
Opening the inbuilt contacts force closes the app for me.
But apart from that, a brilliant concept! I can't wait for new additions! Great job

Thanks for the great feedback!
You can create more panels ("folders") as well, you can copy and paste any item in any panel. In our next drop we are going to make it simple by adding applications to the "create" menu.

1)Set DNS(ROOT REQ)(improves neet speed and security + reduces market 3.XX loading time) (shared @ by me)
https://market.android.com/details?id=uk.co.mytechie.setDNS&hl=en
it works both wifi and data plans(2g n 3g).set yr dns to google dns or open dns.

https://market.android.com/details?...lt#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5ycy5hdXRvcnVuIl0.
ROOT REQ FOR CHUCK NORRIS MODE.
it really kills all apps at startup using chuck norris mode so they do not re launch again
it dereases the time taken for the phone to working smoothly after boot
basic mode is the best
SOME apps for eg..the old skype are forced restarters so they require advanced mode
it can also disable system apps but without chucknorris mode

A very essential App for those who use the phone at night in low light
Applies a shade that acts as a dimmer to ensure your eyes don't hurt. Far more powerful than Android's built-in brightness setting. Great for low-light gaming, web browsing, and eBook reading.
8)SuperDim [root] (shared @ by exctngdude )
SuperDim lets you dim LCD screens (and a few OLED ones) to very low levels--lower than the OS normally allows (that's why you need root privileges)--to save night vision.

Super dim is nice has extra features but needs root!
Screen filter is simple smaller and minimalistic... Does the job better imho!

Lordrd, screenfilter does the job of protecting the eyes but not the battery. It only adds a black tinted layer to lower the brightness exposed to our eyes.
Whereas superdim dim does both jobs.
Sometimes when I use superdim, feel that even the least brightness isn't low enough so I use both the apps. ;-)

[APP][2.2+]Assistive Zoom - One finger zoom control in any browser (ROOT) test needed

NOTE: This App is ROOT required
First time on Android device. This App allows you to send pinch to zoom in/out event on any window with JUST ONE FINGER. So when you are only one hand free, and want to zoom in a web page, Assistive Zoom can help you big time. Just hold on the floating zoom button of Assistive Zoom and move up/down to control the scale factor. This App works in any pinch to zoom enabled window or App.
Since this is my first release and due the the fragmentation of Android system, I am not sure it works on all kind of platforms. I have tested on my 2.2, 4.0, 4,1, 4.2 devices without a problem. So please help to test if it works on your device. If you experience any problem, please let me know. Also, any suggestion is welcome.
[Features]
☆ Works in any pinch to zoom enabled window
☆ Floating trigger button can be disabled/enabled at anytime
☆ Control scale ration at finest level
☆ 3 styles of trigger icon to choose from
☆ Customizable triggering and zooming options
☆ Works from Froyo (2.2) to latest Jelly Bean (4.2)
[Download]

(2) Attachment below.
FAQ
(1) Why it doesn't work?
Ans: This App requires root to function properly. If you are greeted by message your device is not rooted upon launching the App first time, then you probably have an unrooted device.
(2) Why webpage scales unexpectedly?
Ans: Please enable alternative pinch action
(3) Why some text on a webpage is automatically selected after scale is finished?
Ans: Please disable alternative pinch action
Amazing. Never thought it was possible. Good job. It really comes in handy when i neesnit.
convenient. I think Button Savior can also have this button.
Very convenient! Although, I suggest that the icon for the zoom could look a bit more minimal and nice looking. Other than that, it's very good!

I will add more zoom button styles in later release. If you want minimal design, there is a style called Hilo in trigger icon style. Also, you can set lower transparency value in auto dim transparency setting to make zoom button even less obstructive looking.

hi,
currently u cant move vertically. I am still finding a good way to do it. The problem is if zoom button is not centered vertically, user will get unequal distance in either vertical direction to triggernzoom action.

If this is the main concern, then you will have same problem if you want to integrate this function in Button Savior.
Hi, new user to the forum and expecting my first tablet, Sony Xperia Tablet Z on Thursday.
I stumbled across this forum and thread while searching for Android apps that might be able to zoom in/out with one finger. I am a high level quadriplegic and use a capacitive mouthstick made by griffin for touchscreens since I cannot use my arms/hands/fingers. I am looking forward to seeing this app progress to the point that I can use it. Being new to tablets, I am not going to be comfortable rooting a brand new device that I have much to learn about, but maybe after a few weeks I'll be ready to experiment and help test this app.
I am just excited to see that someone is trying to develop such an app, so kudos to jerryfan2000!

yes, this feature would poses some challenges to me on Button Savior if I want to make it as easy and simple to use as it is right now on Assistive Zoom. So far, the best solution I figure out is to show a separate zoom button at middle of screen upon tapping on Zoom Button on Button Savior. So that would require user to press 2 times compared to 1 touch to zoom on Assistive Zoom.

It is glad to know it has potential to help you. Rooting is not as harsnor dangerous as you think. You still need to manually grant root permission to any App that requests root. And you can also unroot at any time if you need to send your device back for repair.

Welcome.
I think this would be great for use with mice or the S-pen, but I have 2 suggestions that would improve on it.
1: allow (homescreen) shortcuts to enable, disable, and toggle the service so it's easy to automate it with apps like tasker and GMD S-pen control.
2: undo dimming upon "mouse over"/hover for supported devices like a mouse, or Samsung airview(Note 2/8, S4)
this would make the icon easier to find if it's set to hide completely.
edit:I noticed a small problem that makes this app useless in some apps.
in opera mobile classic it only switches between zoomed out and standard(double tap) zoom states, nothing in between.
and in the image viewer built into FX File Explorer you can only switch between zoomed in completely, and zoomed out completely.
I just started testing the pro version, and find it to be a great app. It's particularly useful to me when operating my Note II with one hand.
My first suggestion is to enable faster zoom speeds.
Tis is a really great idea. I tried it for five minutes and then bought the Pro version.
Well done and very many thanks for a great app!

Hi,
Both suggestions are good Idea. I will take them. I don't have s pen device but I can try mouse over with my nexus 7. I am not sure is it possible to detect mouse over in Android but I will try.
For problem with opera and image view, you can try testing again with alternative pinch fix on or off. I will also try it on my phone. But if you have discontinuous zoom problem, alternative pinch action toggle is always the first to try.
mouse-over is definitely possible on android, many websites rely on this for their menu and those websites work fine in opera mobile classic if I use a stylus or mouse.
Photoshop touch, and many Samsung apps support it through airview.
and the xtralogic remote desktop app can track the mouse cursor so the remote cursor follows the android cursor.
and I did test the different zoom methods, but there was no difference.
particularly in FX it's annoying, because it's zoom levels are so far apart and it doesn't have double-tap zoom.
Nice app!!
This is a great app - I've been looking for something like this! Works well for my GSII on Android 4.1.2. I just saw that the Pro version allows to control whether or not the zoom is shown per app, so I'm going to have to give that a try. Ideally I'd just like to have the assistive zoom for a few apps: Chrome, Evernote, etc. ...
thanks!

- GestureKit is easy to implement, friendly to use, dependency-free and customizable.
- We offer a simple-to-use dashboard to create, edit and store unique gestures on the cloud, as well as to view metrics of gesture activity conducted by end-users.
- GestureKit is light on memory and thus caters to all kinds of apps, whether big or small. As gestures have to be learned and adopted by end-users, we have also included a default help menu to inform what gestures are available in the application, therefore enhancing the experience of end-users.

Hi Thahim!
You can found "gK Player" in Google play. (I can't publish links jet)
If for some reason it doesn't appear on Google play, please visit my "Home page" in my profile. You can found the link here, and also know more about gesturekit.
Thanks and Regards! :good:
Its a good concept, just allow usage with one finger.
What I mean is, if you try to draw the fast forward with one finger, it's impossible since you need to lift your finger off.
So I suggest adding a time limit for how long a gesture is shown for after it has been drawn so you can easily input the fast forward button easily

Hi Koragg,
We do support multistroke gestures, we simply disabled it for now to increase the speed of recognition for single stroke gestures. However, the feature will be enabled again soon.
Thank for the feedback. :good:
