Hi there everyone.
is it possible to expand my /data partition on my Xperia L to take up an extra GB or so from my internal storage?
and if it is, then how?
......
Yes but no. You found procedures for Xperia L, but finally broken the phone (when update, etc.) The better it's install LineageOS 14.1 if you have Bootloader unlock

Hi guys.
I know this can sound a bit funny but that's true. I have done unlocking bootloader and flashing rom on few xperia's x8.
No problem at all.
Here I'm little bit confused as I was reading the unlocking of bootloader process on Sony offical instruction they've said "For Xperia™ devices released 2013 or later (for example Xperia™ Z and Xperia™ ZL), the SD card of your device will be formatted and you will lose all content (for example photos, music, videos) when you unlock the boot loader." it is true ? Does it really delete everything on the sd card ? Would the unlocking work if I take of my sd ? Or do they mean internal storage ? Or do they mean both sd and internal ?
Also I'm having a question as our new developer make a rom I would like to flash. Like there wasn't a problem on x8 as it didn't have an internal storage. If I would like to flash the custom rom and wipe user data does it deleted the stuff of internal storage like pictures music and everything ? Or does it only do it for the system partition and the one for the installed apps ?
Thanks for help.

It only deletes the internal storage, your sd card remains untouched

I've unlocked the bootloader and internal storage hasn't been touched. Of course I have to flash FTF as phone get bootloop but still there wasn't any sign of missing my files from internal storage.
Hey, I'm a newbie and I wonder if this can be done. I've searched on the web if is it possible to expand the data partition (and shrink sdcard) to have more space for apps and I found a thread where is explained for an LG device and device's partition file (/proc/partitions/) is shown. In xperia L is something like in the attachment, where I think mmcblk1 and mcblk1p1 are data and sdcard partitions. So.. is it possible to do?, and if it is, a ROM can be flashed with no compatibility problems? Thank you for reading... Sorry for my english...:silly:
Ok I have 1 question and a problem
1st - Question: Why do I only have 11gb of memory? I know that memory does not use as it is called. Like I have a 1TB HDD but only 931GB usable.
but 16gb but only 11gb usable? Is this correct or mine has a problem?
Now to my problem. I already have my Z3 unlocked and rooted. I just figured the I cannot use the remote play with supersu installed. Already removed that and proceeded. But I now have a C-80F80A01 error and I cant find any source to continue. Anyone knows how to pass this?
Thanks
About the first question, your device has a 16gb memory inside. Unfortunately, the Android operational system itself and the applications that Sony pre installed into your device takes too much memory.
The partition that you can write is the /data partition with 11.6GB.
The /system and other Linux partition takes ~4GB.
Your phone is good to go.
Unlocking the bootloader also erased the DRM keys. Those are needed for Remote Play. There is a thread on XDA on using the app on a non-Xperia device which you may try. There is also another thread on possibly getting back the DRM keys I blelieve.

Yes I've been trying those but still having the same error.
And for the benefit of this thread, I did restore some features of the DRM (not the DRM key itself) from another thread.
Restoring the xreality, super vivid, low light noise reduction. I have yet to confirm regarding the audio. And of course the remote play that I cannot fix
Does cm12 support link2sd and other root functions like mount system r/w? And is there proper recovery mode for cm12?
As far I know there is no official CM for Xperia E3 yet...

cm 12 normally support link 2 sd feature. for xperia e3 you can use FXP build for cyanogenmod 12 and 12.1
you just need to make second partition on your external sd card and let's see what happen
