[Q] Haier L3D42D25N smart TV software update

Hello folks,
I am fairly new to the Android OS so please be gentle
I took the plunge and finally got a smart TV from Haier which came with the 2.3.4 Android system. All is fine an cherry in 2.3.4 town as of now (apart from its horribly looking user interface design). But was wondering if i could install the 4.0 update ?
Isnt the android system like any other where you have one default version of the OS that comes from google and then there are variants from the open-source community ? If so then which is the best stable version and where can i find it.
Installation of the 2.3.4 OS is on an MMC that i copied from the technicians that came home to fix the TV so i am fine with a backup and the procedure for the install from an MMC. But i assume that if i download the OS from the internet then the procedure will be a bit different ?
I'll update more of the details (Kernel version etc) when i get home. All this because the manufacture - Haier - does not provide updates online or on its website or anywhere on the web. Appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance.
Gaj

If you have the latest firmware to upgrade , please share it with me or else please share the OS back up what you have as I don't even have it
please help me

Symbol MC7090 Need Android ROM

Hi All,
I have a Symbol/Motorola MC7090 it's currently running Windows Mobile 5.0 with messaging and security feature pack.
I cannot connect via Wifi and I cannot get the barcode scanner to work.
It was used by a developer to test there apps, I was told that it was reset back to factory specs.
Has anyone got a ROM so that I can put Android on this??
Best Regards

I hate to revive this post, but I have the same sort of question. Please let me know if I need to start a new thread. In my case, I have two ROMs from "Zebra" (who seems to have taken over this part of that company). Mine is also the MC40, but the question I have is what do I need to do to essentially convert this from a Windows 7 CE device, to an Android device. I have the drivers for both the Win version and the Android version. I also have 3 of the Android devices and 2 of the Win devices. The model numbers are exactly the same, only the OS is different. Im doing this for the company I work for. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Samsung Device Maintenance App for Marshmallow Android 6.0.1

Hi Guys,
Any Idea where I can download Samsung Device Maintenance app for a Samsung still running on Marshmellow - Android 6.0.1?
I accidently deleted the app while doing some tweaking on my phone and would love to re-install it.
Apart from having to factory reset my phone (and thus lose all my customisations done since) I have no idea where to find this App for Android 6.0.1 ???
On Playstore and APKmirror the only versions I can find are for Android 7 upwards.
It obviously does exist for the Android 6 platform as well, as it came pre-installed on my Samsung.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
Many Tx Guys.....

Downgrade A7 (A750GN)

3 years ago somebody downgraded somebody I met at the internet successful my Samsung J5 to Android 5.
Now I think about the possibility to downgrade my Samsung A7 (A750GN) to Android 4.
Would it be possible?
In know with such a questions a lot of people want to know why.
It's simple.
I love how 4 looks.
I could still enjoy 5 if I have too.
And Android is gone the same negative way like Microsoft with Windows 10.
Every new Android Version has more and more rubbish included I don't use and I don't want,
Today is (for me) my Android Version a overloaded fat elephant with so many bad functions I can't turn off.
I would like to have a "Android Lite" and I would like to have a Android that looks like 4 or 5.
But would it be possible?
I have never ever done something like this for myself.
That last time with my J5 somebody installed a remote control on my laptop and I plugged in my mobile and this guy has done everything remote controlled.
I have still to today no idea who he was and from where he was.
But it worked fine.
He downgraded my J5 to Android 5 and he changed something in such a way the mobile never ask for a update and when I try to force a update I get the wrong answer the newest update in installed.
Absolute great.
That is what I'm looking for with my A7.
Any ideas?
It is NOT possible to downgrade your A7 to android 5.
When a new phone comes out , for example the A7 2018 , it was launched with android 8.
It can not be downgraded to any version below the version it came out with.
Even after updating from android 8 to the latest android 10 , i don't think it is possible to even downgrade to android 8 again (because samsung updates, patch your phone with the new update.)
Galaxy J5 was released with android 5 touchwiz, the android 5 system customized by Samsung.
The person who was connected to your computer has installed a custom rom (probably an AOSP rom , as you described being a "lite version".)
AOSP roms are roms without the Samsung add-ons and customizations , created by developers here on XDA.
For the moment , an AOSP android 10 for A7 2018 is not available , but there is another way to get a "lite " version of android 10 on your device.
As it needs a lot of reading and understanding on android development, i do not sugges you doing so .
It is called GSI and you can find by reading in the correct thread , for example :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a7/help/how-to-install-gsi-samsung-galaxy-a7-t4165617
Please , be aware that you might brick your device if you decide to experiment with its system.
Hope this helps you.
