The pixel just keep rebooting itself. Over 10 times per day.
Apps getting random crash.
Getting worst when system ui has been stop. Had to factory reset. Any idea what caused the problem? Is it the storage problem? Some said because of the ufs storage corrupt.
How's your battery been? If it reboots even when plugged in it could be that. If not could there be any offending apps causing it? Have you tried a master reset? It could be a number of things including faulty hardware so unfortunately it's just trial and error.

Every now and then, my phone will just randomly freeze. I'm back on FroYo (was on Gingerbread before that and on Froyo again before that) but that doesn't seem to help.
Nothing will respond and if I press the lock button twice the screen will just be black. The thing is, there are two cases where this definitely will NOT happen:
1) While its charging
2) While playing games (Tried Angry Birds, Dungeon Hunter 2, Nova and Greed Corp).
Most problems I've seen that are similar are of their phone rebooting, but mine just straight up freezes and I have to force reboot it or pull the battery.
Happens multiple times a day. Can anyone help?
Are you on stock/is it rooted?
I'm on stock.
Try doing a full factory reset (Privacy>Factory Reset Data), or reflashing the stock KDZ.
I have the same problem . Did you manage to solve it?
Exactly the same problem here, thank goodness it isn't an isolated problem.
Any solution?
I have the solution.
I have format the internal memory of the phone and no more random freezes.
Wipe data cache and dalvik doesn`t resolve anything, i think that it's a problem with the file system of the internal memory...
I've got an Idol 3 that has been randomly shutting down. No warning, no specific activity happening... it just shuts off.
I checked to see if there are any pending updates, no dice... it is up to date.
I was thinking to start deleting installed apps to see if it might be related to something that is running. If no help there, perhaps a factory restore.
Has anyone seen anything like this? Any suggestions?
If a factory reset doesn't solve it, it is probably defective and hopefully you can return it for a different one. If a factory reset fixes it. Only add your apps back one at a time to see if it was a particular app that was causing the issue. Let us know if there is an app that isn't playing well with the idol.
Factory reset is a really good way to pin it down to either software or hardware. Run it with just the stock apps for a day to see if it's solid.
Also, if you have a micro SD card in there, pop it out. If there's any issues with the card, or if that specific one just doesn't happen to get along with the phone..it can cause odd things to happen.
What were the results? My device is doing that too...

Check the temperature of your device as soon after a shutdown as possible.....turn off location reporting in location settings to cut down on gps use which I'm told can cause excessive heat if you find the temp is high (over 100F)
The phone was cold to the touch the last time it restarted which was a few minutes ago. Also I was running the system update and the phone got pretty hot and did not shutdown or restart.
Now that I think of it It wasn't having this restart problem till I ran the update... Maybe it got too hot and broke something...
It did get stuck on updating one of the app packages for a lot longer then the rest. Maybe the update didn't install properly?
I've been having the same problem since the most recent software update. It normally happens when I change the volume in my Opera browser.
Did a factory reset and it didn't fix the problem... Alcatel said to contact returns to get a new phone
I love the phone! I just wish this process hadn't came up. I hope they ship the new one fast, Alcatel has been communicating very fast.
I have the same problem. Only for about two times a week. Has somebody a solution?
Has anyone experienced random system ui force close after rooting? All I did was install adaway and used the chainfire workaround to get it working. It continuously force closes even after reboots. The only way to get out of it is to plug the phone in to a charger...weird I know.
I had the exact same thing happen. In my case it was MalwareBytes that was causing it. I plugged into the charger, got the homescreen and noticed malwarebytes crashed too, and wouldnt open. Uninstalled it, rebooted and no more System UI crash errors.
I had that issue come up while I was using Messenger. I have unlocked and rooted my phone. No other changes. I did use Titanium Backup to import an xml of my previous text messages. (Added later: the battery was probably close to 15% or less when this occurred.)
Have you tried uninstalling ad-away? I've done the exact same steps you describe with no issue.
Yes i have faced the same problem, i think it happens when the battery is low. Don't know if its root or EX kernel!
Had the same UI issue this morning. When I plugged the charger in, the UI force close issue immediately stopped. The battery was at 7% and when I unplugged it at 44% the issue is still gone.
I believe as well that Adaway is causing the issue. Before installing Adaway, the error did not appear. I reflashed the factory images and obviously the error went away.
A temporary solution suggested @blk_jack is to turn on power saver @ 15% auto
The issue was reported to Google. Everyone should star it so it gets more attention.
I thought I was alone, it happened shortly after I froze Pixel Launcher with Titanium Backup. I'm glad to know it wasn't the case and charging the phone resolved the issue.
My phone died last Wednesday and has continuously proceeded to boot loop ever since. Not sure if this is due to mother board issues, a recent update, lack of space on device, or malfunctioning apps?
I don't think its a motherboard issue though. I was pretty much at capacity 29gb usable of 32gb. I recently downloaded instagram and every time I used it the the system UI send a warning message and proceeded to crash every time, but the phone never boot-looped? I had recently updated to 8.1.0 and after looking at the android loading screen over 1000x now, I can tell that the animation is a little different from before.
The bootloop that I am experiencing isn't a load then restart loop it's just an endless load. With the the google 'G' and an endless loading bar beneath swaying side to side for hours on end.
Unfortunately I haven't backed up my phone in more than 5 months. I was wondering if there was anything I can do to get my data back (i.e. media, numbers, texts etc.) or potentially get my phone working again with the data intact?
I can boot into recovery mode perfectly. In the past google had a "clear system cache feature" on V7.1 I think? but that was phased out with more recent updates leaving me with the option of only factory resetting the phone. My phone is not rooted. I was wondering if there was anything I could do in the recovery screen that could mimic the clear system cache feature? Like writing some sort of command line or something? Or anything else that I could do to get my data back and my phone working again?
What are my options?

I think you can clear cache in fastboot. Not sure why you would continue to use an app that is crashing system.

That feature was taken out of the boot-loader by google in the past few updates. I'm currently on 8.1.0.
I was wondering if there was an alternative method that I could take in fast boot/recovery mode that could possibly give me the same cache clearing result? Possibly some sort of adb method or something? Also unfortunately my boot loader is locked. So If I can't clear the cache, I was wondering what my current options are as far as backing up the device before I inevitably have to do a factory reset are?
I'm having this weird issue, where the UI is almost lagging, but it's not quite lagging. IT's like the screen wont update unless I do something to make it update. Like to move to a next screen I will have to drag down the notification bar to get it to load the next screen. I'm not quite sure if that makes sense so here's a video of what I'm talking about. This is severely hindering my usage, and a factory reset did stop it for a while, but now it's happening again. My storage isn't full and I dont have a ton of apps open, and it happens whether I have enhanced processing on or not. or power saving on or not. please help.
Try in safe mode to rule out a 3rd party app as the cause.
When did it start and more importantly what happened before it started?
I haven't installed any new apps within the last 24 to 48 hours and it just started happening again this morning.
I'm gonna try clearing the cache and safe mode and see if it persists. Thank you

Could one of the apps auto updated? I block them to prevent that. Updates and upgrades can and do break things, Samsung updates included.
I don't think so only because this happened before and factory resetting fixed it for a while. And after my factory reset I reinstalled all my normal apps and all updates. And I factory reset maybe 2 weeks ago.

Like I was saying... something caused it.
Unlikely it's corrupted firmware or a hardware issue. Not malware unless you reloaded again.
Social media and shopping apps shouldn't be on a device. So it's likely one or more of the apps... updates can and do break things.
Clearing the cache partition has seemed to have fixed it. I'm guessing maybe it's from the android 13 update I took? I'm thinking I'm gonna switch to the U1 firmware when it comes out for android 13 cause I'm on Verizon branded firmware. My device is a dev phone though. When I boot into download mode it says dev device in big letters lol.
