Just got this tonight on my H918. I'm rooted, with TWRP and on NATF ROM so I don't want to install it, but if anyone can guide me how to grab the download, I will gladly.

Ugh, I installed this without realizing it would impact twrp. I have a root stock image with twrp installed. Now I can only boot into twrp. Anytime I try to reboot to system it comes back to twrp. Any ideas how I can fix this? Thanks!

Just coming from the Nexus 5x so I'm not real familiar with the v20 rooted yet but can you flash stock recovery using ADB. That worked on my 5X when I took an update with TWRP installed
If anyone accidentally applies this update with TWRP installed you can recovery from the endless TWRP bootloop. See this post from midmadn

Hi all, having a problem rooting my inspire 4g, when in Fastboot , it shows the phone is S-OFF but I have no root access.
I used the root checker app, and it says that my device is not rooted. I then used EasyAceRootTool, but when I select to root
my device, it says that ''the hboot needs to be updated'' and it then starts a download from HTCDEV. I have tried using this software
several times but my device is still not rooted.

I think it may also be worth mentioning that it was previously rooted but, got stuck on the white HTC screen and I had to flash the stock kernel
If someone could help me out would really really apricate it, as it has me pulling my hair out
thanks

Kenneth, if you are already S-OFF unlocking the bootlader will remove that. You just need to flash SU in CWM recovery and flash CWM first if you don't have a custom recovery. Choose flash CWM in the tool and then SU...you should be fine after that.

I really need help! I currently have Android 4.4.2 with franco.kernel. I would like to update to Android 4.4.3. So I found the instructions of this type:http://nexus5.wonderhowto.com/how-t...4-4-4-without-losing-any-data-update-0155334/
Everything is OK to a point 6. Shows a console and upload the files but error pops up.

I use Nexus Root Toolkit.
How to fix it? NO WIPE of course.
Stop using toolkits. They tend to do more harm than good.
Download the factory images of 4.4.4 and then flash system, radio and boot manually via fastboot. This will bump your android version to 4.4.4 with everything stock.

If i have 4.4.2 I can go directly to 4.4.4?
When I flash system and boot manually it does not lose data?

Yes Sir, you can!
Nope, you won't loose any data. Only if you flash the userdata.img will you loose all data from /sdcard.
You could also un-root temporary with OTA RootKeeper to update your system
Since we're all putting our 2 cents in, here's mine
Just download the full rooted stock ROM in android development and flash it without wipe from recovery.

It's actually fewer steps anyway.
OTA = revert system changes, boot recovery, flash, re-flash recovery, re-root
Rooted stock = boot recovery, flash
No brainer really. Flashing an OTA if rooted is a fool's errand

I know this might sound dumb to some people, but I am trying to unroot and go back to stock, I have looked at alot of the tutorials on how to revert to stock, I have tried doing a complete unroot in Superuser then putting the 0P6BIMG.zip into my SC Card and letting the bootloader reload it but it ALWAYS come back with root.
Any idea's would be great. Don't have a good reason as to why other than I don't need root and would prefer to get OTAs from Verizon/HTC
Thanks in advance,
Nick

If you are talking about my ruu, that will take any future ota updates just fine as long as you 1) don't change any system files and 2) don't flash custom recovery.
Root alone will NOT make you fail otas...not on htc...

The ruu I have posted is the latest. I didn't bother to make one for the release os version as they had some really annoying bugs (like phones that were stuck in roam from day 1) etc.
Run the ruu and you will update fine whenever they release one. Afterwards you can flash my twrp I have posted in my ruu thread (or recovery of your choosing) and then re flash superuser.zip to reroot .. I suggest using flashify app to backup your stock recovery to your so card after the ruu ..it will let you flash back to stock recovery whenever you need to take an ota

Introduction:
I was missing a stock based rom for this device. So I took the nvidia recovery image and made it a flashable zip for TWRP. You cannot use ota to update though, wait for the new version from here if you want to update.
Also, don't flash wrong zip on the wrong Shield Tablet. It's your own responsibilty
Features:
- Latest Stock Factory Image
- Zipaligned apps
- Nothing more
Download:
K1: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=93930
Original (Wifi & LTE): https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=94437
Also flash blob file of the same version
Enjoy!!
What to do with the blob zip:
Code:
1. Extract blob file from zip
2. Flash blob in fastboot with: fastboot flash staging "name of blob file"
Yup, I vote for original Shield ROM! Thanks!
Nice! Vulcan API goodness!
Zip for the original Shield Tablet (untested):
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591000424954195
Thanks for this!
Is there any possibility you remove the Kill-Switch for users who have kept their tablet what has had to be replaced? I guess the Tegra Ota service must be disabled
Thanks! Made backup, flashed rom zip, flashed twrp, su, Xposed, nomoreota, and kernel. Wiped cache and booted system. Looks good so far... Not much immediate difference but we shall see over time. Came from stock so I did not wipe data and all is well.

Ok thank you. Previous post says something about the nomoreota file, I remember that one now.
Anyway is this ROM pre-rooted? And is the file for the original tablet compatible with all three versions of it?
So after a few hours this ROM is smoother, cooler and faster then stock... Guess I'll be keeping it for awhile.

The rom is not prerooted, also I only downloaded the wifi image. So that's the version for the original tablet
ok so after unlocking and rooting, I installed the bliss rom, but realized none of the nvidia apps were there And besides my Phantom I want this tablet for that.
so I wiped and installed this one, ran the nomoreota zip and everything is back to normal, but, I'm not longer rooted.
I just want this rom and rooted. I have twrp recovery and it works fine, but still not rooted.
anyhelp? thanks

hello there!
Finally joining the HTC bandwagon here
I've got myself a new HTC u 11+ and just started using it last friday. My friend helped me to buy itdirectly from the HTC Taiwan.
The phone started and launched breezily, no issues and most of my apps has been updated but there's a pop up notification to install the latest system.
I have tried numerous of times downloading it, it did, and clicked install now. Everytime I install, it's shows the progress of the updating and soon the screen went black and HTC logo appeared and a text appeared shortly on a black screen and within few secs it directed twrp recovery. I have to reboot the system on that twrp to get back to my phone mode.
Hence never got updated and the pop up reminder is still there ..
HTC support system not responding to my problem
*A famous youtuber(shaanhaider) guided me to check if it's rooted via app, apparently it's not rooted.
*tried to put in safe mode and update, still nothing changes.
What should I do?
If you have a custom recovery installed, you will not be able to install official updates. You need to restore to stock condition.

twrp is custom recovery, not stock. You can try to flash the stock recovery corresponding to Your firmware through fastboot. However, this may not be enough. The update will still fail to install if there have been changes to the systems section. In this case you will have to flash full RUU corresponding to Your current firmware.
