Unable to mount internal storage - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I did a clean flash of Nobel Rom 3.0 which is a cool ROM but since then I am not able to see the internal storage. ES Explorer says its not mounted and when i connect the phone to PC the storage is also not mounted.
I can however see the storage when in TWRP and can also then mount to PC.

[Q] Unable to access USB storage on Nexus S

I have a GT-i9023 Nexus S. Already rooted. Have CWM installed.
Now I am trying to access USB storage to get my files before I install another ROM and it just can't mount USB storage in CWM.
I tried connect my Nexus S via USB cable to my computer, it appears to detect my phone but no USB Mass Storage comes up so I can't access my files using Windows Explorer.
Now my phone has only CWM, no ROM installed.
Is there anyway to access my USB storage so I can backup my files, put a ROM (zip file) into the USB storage and then I can flash it using CWM.
Now I am in CWM.
I go to "mounts and storage - mount /sdcard"
Respond "Error mounting /sdcard"
So I try "mount USB storage"
Respond "E:Unable to write to ums lunfile (No such file or directory)"
What should I do?

Transferring files from internal storage in recovery mode?

Hello, I got some problem booting into the ROM but I want to transfer files from the internal storage to my computer. What can I do? Since in recovery mode, I can only mount the USB mass storage which is the external storage. Thanks.
Which ROM and what phone? What issue do you have with your ROM? Are you rooted?

Any way to mount as mass-storage? (not MTP)

I'd like to use TestDisk PhotoRec to try to recover some photos, as I forgot to backup my DCIM folder before wiping data from recovery.
Unfortunately, that software needs the phone to be mounted as a regular mass storage device.
Any ideas?
SD card internal or external....???
If external sd card: remove it from storage and use desktop and card reader or adapter.
If there is internal storage, you can mount your phone and choose from USB options data transfer.
To use TestDisk and PhotoRec you need a desktop and know somewhat of the command line, depending on the OS you are using. It is recommended to use a live CD or live USB stick. It has a fairly high learning curve, but is effective.
For me, it's internal storage. But Photorec/testdisk don't see any mtp partition sa my file manager see.
