Hey I've installed superman rom a few days ago but I want to go back to Stock now. Ive downloaded The New Stock files from sammobile.com.
Should I wipe something in TWRP ("format data" "yes") before I go to the download mode? Or will Odin do this itself?
Should I use The csc_ or home_csc file? And which ticks should I Set in Odin (Autoreboot, Re-partition, f. Reset time)?

Odin should format itself, just choose the rom file in the AP section, then just flash it. Done.

When I unzip the downloaded file, there are 4 files for each section in Odin. Shouldnt I flash the others too?

You did download a tar file didn't you? I am pretty sure you dont need to flash the rest, bootloader, modem etc, unless you had problems loading the rom or bootloops, or if you had network problems when using the rom you want to discard. Unless it's inside the tar file, then there is no need to unzip, just put the tar file in the AP section.

Just take the ap file and flash it, everything will be fine, if you have any complications then let me know, but I am pretty sure you won't.

Can anybody tell me if the AT&T file is zipped or unizipped...trying to see why the link wont show up when i download it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342348
Despite the fact that the link says: Download Stock TAR for SGH-I727, what you will actually download is in 7z format. Once you open that you will find a .tar file. Once you open that, you will find the boot, recovery and system .img files. People love to complicate things.
when i try to open the file it comes up as being blank...nothing is even there
ok i see my problem now...what is a program to open the 7z format file???
Do you have a utility which will open 7z files?
http://www.7-zip.org/
I downloaded both the AT&T and Rodgers files a while back and seem to recall it took over 15 minutes for each of them despite they're only being about 250m. You may have corrupt files.
ok i didnt have the utility...thanks bro i am noob just did my first root 3 days ago and the custom rom im running keeps force closing...trying to get rid of it and return it to stock rom
what is the process of extracting the tar file to odin???

Did you make a nandroid backup? Have you tried fixing permissions? Just curious. If you made a nandroid backup before you flashed your new rom, just restore the backup. Always always always make a nandroid before you flash.

honestly, you have some reading to do, but from the initial sounds of it, you either:
A. restored apps you shouldnt have with Titanium Backup after flashing your new rom (only use RESTORE MISSING APPS WITH DATA, NEVER EVER USE RESTORE ALL APPS OR RESTORE SYSTEM ANYTHING)
or you:
B. didnt wipe data/factory reset in CWM before flashing the new rom
best option right now would be to boot to recovery and wipe data/factory reset, then boot back into your rom and see if you get FCs....
i restored all of my apps that were missing on my phone...didnt restore anything else. i just want to return my rom back to its original state and i didnt back it up when i used cwm. the rom that am using is Sky Ice Cream sandwhich and im having problems wit force closes

open 7z file with 7zip. drag the tar file out to your desktop
open ODIN as admin
click on the PDA button
point it to your desktop where the tar file is
select the tar file and click start
its not complicated....dont really understand what the issue is
when i open the the files in 7zip they will not move to the desktop as a Tar file...they go as three seperate files

inside the 7z file is ONE, count them, ONE .tar file. DO NOT EXTRACT THE FILES INSIDE THE .TAR file....
sounds to me like you are opening the 7z, then opening the .tar within 7zip
try this. right click on the 7z file, 7-zip, EXTRACT HERE, assuming you are somewhere simple, like your desktop. it should spit out ONE .tar file
How do I convert roms into an md5 file I can use to flash via odin? Everytime I download rom i get a zip folder with meta, system and updates folders as well as a few other files but no md5 file ????
You can't convert a zip file to an md5. One is a container and the other is a checksum. Try Mobile Odin or install from zip via CWM
md5 is hash to verify content.. if u don't have it .. create it ..

I cant install with CWN as I have the Samsung Galaxy S 4g, the only way to flash this phone is with odin. Does anybody know when someone will convert any roms to use with on this phone yet?? Feels like I have been waiting on a release for ever and dont know how to convert the zip to md5 myself.
.....and using odin mobile requires root ....the reason why i am trying to flash a custom rom to begin with is to get root in the first place?!

another Question,
how i can get S5360_XXKK6_OXXKK2_XXKK5 or S5360XXKK6_REV05 as CWM ZIP ROM ?
It's easy! f you have Windows...
All you have to do is rename the file. Right Click > Rename, then change the file extension to zip. Delete md5 and type zip. Now you can open it by .zip
You can do the same with he .img files that's in the new zip. Want to change it back? Do the opposite.
Hope it helped, hit a :good: for me please! I'm kind of new. Thanks.

Like i said, change the extension to .zip and unzip the contents in your new zip file from your md5.
I backed up my stock rom from twrp recovery mode. Now i cant restore it.
Is there any way i can install the stock rom again
What
Of course you can guys its a bit of a hassle but you convert the .zip to a .tar download the tar converter tar-Tool_Odin3-v3.07_by_mkh.mourad I forgot where I got it from but search it its here then run the batch with that converted tar wholla .tar.md5 file just used it for a modem
ok so then if im using odin how am i sopposed to flash it because in order to flash a stock rom or any rom i need to to be in md5 or tar so if its zipped how should i do it
You can do so
You can convert to tar from zip via 7-zip there is vedio about it on YouTube
i've rooted my P6210 Samsung Tab and am trying to install the CWM. i saw there was a "free" version of Odin and d/l the .apk. They also mentioned that i needed to d/l the KernelFlash as well, which i have.
Does anyone know where i need to place these files on my Tab so that i can run Odin and install CWM?
Thank you for any help you might be able to provide and have a great evening!
Edit: This post was originally posted in the wrong forum, but i've been set straight. Hopefully this is the right place.
Just install both apks (mobile odin + flash kernel). Unzip the flash kernel.zip first

Thanks, miksumortti, for replying!
The question is "install" in which directory?
Have a great morning!
Just tap the both apk in file explorer, it will open pop-up to install.

miksumortti,, thanks for the info. i may need it since i broke down and bought the "Pro" version, but it doesn't "see" any of my. zip or. img files! So i don't know what's going on with this thing.
Have a wonderful afternoon and thanks again for hh helping.
It should open a file browser when you click the partition you want to flash and show only files that are right for the selected partition. For example if you want to flash whole stock firmware you should tap the "open file" and then browse the .tar or .tar.md5 file and it sets up the right partitions for flashing, corresponding on what the chosen file contains.
Make sure to select right partition if you want to flash for example only kernel or data etc., because you won't see "wrong" files for the selected partition, like you can't flash kernel if you have selected data partition.

Rename the CWM IMG file to recovery.img. Tap the "Open file..." option to find and select the recovery.img file. Mobile odin should associate the IMG file with the proper partition automatically. So, after you've selected the IMG file, yould would see it under the listing for Recovery. Then tap "Flash firmware."
Hey, guys, thanks a lot! That last one - rename to recovery.img - did it. Yea, one happy camper! Now we have CWM.
i see that you are using the CM 10 Unofficial. Is it working alright? If so, do i need to erase/format cache/davlik before flashing? i've forgotten. i've got the most recent on my G2 and very happy with it. Just got a G2 for our daughter and will be trying to root and flash it as well but it needs to be charged first.
Again, thanks a million - i had a hunch that renaming was what was required.
Have a wonderful evening!
Never mind / just found this: " Flash from ClockworkMod Recovery. Make sure to wipe data/factory reset. Back up apps using Titanium Backup or GoBackup, and do a nandroid before flashing!" That should do it. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30813335&postcount=216)

CM10 is working alright, but there still are issues to be worked out. In my experience, CM9 is a bit more stable and usuable, but I don't think it's being further developed.
It's currently running cm10.x and using twrp. I've downloaded the firmware file from asus.com. It is a zip file that contains another zip file. Do I just extract the contents and then flash the extracted zip file?
thanks

I downloaded the latest ROM from the ASUS website. I extracted the zip file once and I then copied the extracted zip file into my tablet. I then open the zip file and extracted the contents using solid explorer. I did this just to verify the zip file can be opened.
After this, I rebooted my tablet into TWRP and wiped data/system/cache/dalvik. I then flashed the zip file but when it finished, I tried rebooting my device BUT TWRP is complaining no OS is installed?
Any ideas what I did wrong? thanks

Obviously the flash failed since you still have TWRP. You did a little too much at each step. Flashing a complete firmware file wipes/formats everything: system, data, recovery, bootloader. No need to do that prior.
I don't know why your flash failed, but it could be a bad download, could be that the file got messed up when copying to the tablet or when you extracted it.
I would download another copy of the firmware, extract it once on your PC and then transfer that file to your tablet and flash it.

That's correct. You wiped your OS, and installed the new firmware to the staging partition. The bootloader will flash it from there to the final partitions after the next reboot (with the blue progress bar).
Hi All,
I've downloaded the carbon rom form xda developer's site but it does not see to install with odin.
Can you please tell me if there is other flashing software that I need to have to use this rom?
I'm attaching a screen shot of what the rom file looks like when extracted.

Yeah you don't want to extract the zip file, but copy the .zip to an sd card and install it from custom recovery.
If you don't have custom recovery you would go here https://goo.im/devs/daniel_hk/recovery/TWRP/p6200/ and download and flash in Odin (its the 2.8.0.0 that ends in .tar, you put that in the PDA box)
