Hi,
I have a bluetooth remote with buttons to increase, decrease and mute the volume. The corresponding key codes that the button send to the phone are 24, 25 and 164. Is there a way to "mute" the brightness? That is press one button and it sets the brightness to minimum, then press the same button (or a different button) and set the brightness back to maximum. I looked up the key codes for brightness and they are 220 for brightness down and 221 for brightness up. However brightness down or up decreases and increases the brightness by only one increment. I didn't find any key code that would "mute" the brightness. Does anybody know if it is possible to "mute" the brightness of a phone?

Anyone been able to find the registry setting that controls how much increase/decrease in volume, when pressing the buttons on the phone? I have a Touch Pro and when pressing the buttons it increases/decreases in increments of 3, I'd like to beable to change that to a different increment value.
Why does only the ringer volume change when I use the volume rocker on my home screen? I realize it specifically says "Ringer volume," but is there a way to have my notification volume relatively change as well? I could have sworn this was the case with my old G1.
For example, in the volume settings I have ringer volume set at 100% and notification volume set at 50%. It would be extremely convenient if I used the volume rocker to bring 'ringer' down to 50% and the notification volume would go down by half as well, bringing it to 25%. Similarly, if they were both at 100% in the settings, they'd both be at 50% after I used the rocker to bring 'ringer' down to 50%.
p.s - ever say a word so many times to yourself that it loses meaning?
I do too!!! Lol I want it to be the same

Is there a chance to map Volume keys (only when screen is on) to control brightness?
Alternative:
Long press of home sets full brightness?
Dimmed at night, the display might be not usable next day. To adjust brightness usually you have to see the touchscreen.
I have searched for such an app, but didn't found it. Do you know one?
if you have adaptive brightness enabled, adjusting volume via keyboard key, then tapping the screen while the volume dialog is still visible will disable adaptive brightess. not sure why. anyone else able to reproduce this?
looks like it happens even without touching the screen.
I wanna know if there's any way to lower the duration that the volume menu shows when you use the physical buttons to change the volume.
