Qualcomm bootloader update required or not - General Questions and Answers

Dear Developers and Android users,
I have Xolo A500(msm 8225)512mb, with 4.0.4(same SOC/chipset Nokia x/XL, Lg L 7II)
wish to update Android,
Question: do I need to update bootloader or I can just provide mobile with different kernel-ramdisk base address which are available for same chipset but other brands. E.g.Like KitKat for Nokia x
Thanks in advance.

[Completed] Custom rom request for Spreadtrum 7731 chipset devices

Hi,
I have a phone called Celkon Millenia Q54+. [gsmarena : http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=7287&idPhone2=7301]
When I purchased the device company said it will be upgradable to Lollipop. but that update never came. Its been 5 months passed and no news. I have tried to find a suitable custom rom for this device.
Found few but those are meant for the chipset SC7731 and not sure how safe will be to install them.
So, if anybody can guide me it would be helpful.

[Resolved] Does anyone have Android 4.2.2 zip file?

[SOLVED] Does anyone have the zip file for Android 4.2.2? I messed up my Acer A1 830 by updating it and fastboot method isn't going so well... (I have drivers installed, ADB drivers and offical ones and it still says "waiting for device" after I input a command, whilst the tablet is on the droidboot screen.)

I did a quick search and it looks like the following links should have it.
https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/5243?b=1
It looks as though they may have it under documents titled "Kernel Source Code (Android 4.2 Jelly Bean) - 20150520" but, i can't be sure though, the download is 132.4 MB.

It was not a problem at all.
Certain questions intrigue me to do a little research so I, personally, would know for future reference.
When it comes to device Manufacturers, there shouldn't be any reason as to why locating Stock Firmware for their devices should be such a chore.
I feel that they should make searching for them a bit easier for those individuals who help keep them in business.
Anyway... I wish you the best of luck!

Though, you had installed the Stock Firmware correctly, it's the process in which it's performed that makes the difference.
You didn't do it wrong but, if that certain process is not performed in a certain way, then it'll reflect a "Custom" Firmware (even if it was successful) because the successful flash, you had performed, just looks at the Firmware installed as "Official" and "Custom". In another words, because the Firmware was not installed in that specific way.
With that stated, I believe that one or both of the following threads, at least, has your solution within them and you should be able to get a response within them if you require clarification.

[QUESTION] Rooting Gigaset Gs100 Oreo 8.1

Hi everyone! I own a Gs100 device and decided to search how to root it, if it's possible at all. The reason why I want to root it is because it's RAM capacity is very low, 1GB, and it can hardly run Android Os itself. In addition i want to look for some apps in order to make the device run more smoothly. I read this article ( howtodo rocks/how-to-root-gigaset-gs100/ ) and made me believe it not worth trying to root Gs100 because of the risk of failure (bricking), i don't care about a voided warranty, since it's an one-hundred-euro device. I want to ask for advice whether should I try to root it, or not. It would be helpful if someone has a personal experience. I will try to provide as much information as possible about my phone's current state.
Gigaset gs100 specifications - devicespecifications com/en/model/22b44be8
Android security patch level - October 5, 2018
Baseband version - MOLY.LR12A.R2.MP.V52.11
Build number - GS100_HW1.0_11132018_V14
Thank you in advance!
P.S.: Sorry, i can't post external links yet, since i am new member

Since there's little to no threads/posts that's specific to your devices model, you will then have to look at the fact that your device has a Mediatek MT6739 Chipset.
With limited threads for the MT6739 device, your next best option is to search for the MT67xx.
Keep in mind that the MT67xx means that it's for all Mediatek devices that begins with MT67.
Here's a small list of threads that should help give you a good start on your journey to root/development that just may also work for your specific device.
Be sure to ask for some support and guidance within one of them for clarity just to be on the safe side.

A quick FYI... Your device is a 64-bit as well. This does matter too.
Good Luck!
