selective wallpaper blur for apps - Other Tools & General Discussion

hi i have hired a team to make a launcher for me i call SymetiumUI, anyway we have gotten in alot of arguements and it looks like the app is being killed because of it can't find help to finish it, allthough this blur question this wasn't an arguement i still would like to know, i was told by that team that selective wallpaper blur where a shape of the wallpaper is blurred isn't possible, only the layer that goes ontop the wallpaper would blur it which causes alot of performance issues limiting it to one or two blurred objects at a time on screen.
So i would simply like to know is it possible for an app to blur a round ball or box on a wallpaper or can it just blur the entire wallpaper and not sections of it.
The idea for my app is that a part of the wallpaper would be blurred then a colored layer would be placed ontop causing the frosted glass efffect or even ios effect if you set the layer to white and slightly transparent, another workaround i came up for this is that the launcher keeps the entire wallpaper blured but only shows sections of the wallpaper blurred, meaning a layer is free to move ontop like a dynamic blur.

[Tweak]Home Screen Weather Animation On/Off

Hi All
hope this wasn't already posted but i have found way to switch off weather animation and keep your static wallpaper.
if you go to
HKCU/Software/HTC/Manila
and change "HomeWallpaperMode" from "0" to "2" you will end up having your static wallpaper but without weather animation.
0 - Weather Animation ON
1 - Animated Wallpaper
2 - Static Wallpaper and Weather Animation OFF

This will work until you change your wallpaper.once you do that,weather animation is back.i'll try to find solution for that.

I feel so dumb now.if you don't want weather animation just select animation wallpaper and choose one of your static ones.and that is it!

I like the weather animation and was wondering if there's actually something more along the lines of the opposite of this.
What I mean is when you get the animation with the clouds going across the screen, it seems to stop if you slide across the tabs & back and the clouds disappear. I wish it was that easy to change the weather!
But I hope that makes sense - I like the animations & would be happy for them to continue moving whilst my screen is active.

I'm okay with all the other animations but the cloud anims just piss the crap outta me . Is it possible to leave the little animation in the center of home screen but remove all the other crap flying around?
EDIT: Ah, this was solved simply by selevting one of the static wallpapers. Thanks!

just curious, when it rains on the home screen, is it me or is the wall paper hidden and then slowly comes back when the wiper wipes? It's quite annoying that it goes all black and then back to red (i have the xmas theme)
Theres a cab for that ... its called dirty rain and the cab removes it so the rain is over your wallpaper...

[Q] [REQ] Live Wallpaper EQ Vizualizer

Hi there.
I've had an idea for a Live Wallpaper, but since I suck at coding (yes, I really, really do, I screwed up Hello World! I can't tell you how many times).
The Live Wallpaper would be a graphic EQ with bars that go vertical up the screen that would have a gradient for color (or horizontal during landscape use). This Live Wallpaper would allow custom backgrounds (such as normal wallpapers) but would activate the EQ whenever music is playing.
Colors of the gradient bars could be chosen by the user. Number of bars could be chosen by the user.
Anyone up for doing something like this? I know it's probably a lot of work, just thought it would be something awesome to have.

[Q] Wallpaper scrollling on runnymede

Hi ive been using this rom for three days now and its brilliant i wouldnt change for any other rom and when i selected a picture as a wallpaper the green cropping bar used to fill the hole picture making it to stop scrolling along a picture it used to show the full picture but today ive changed my wallpaper to something else and it will only crop out so much of the picture can any one help me to stop it scrolling please
What you want to say is not clear to me..
Anyways, I would like to say that Any Sense 3.0 and 3.5 ROM doesnt support wallpaper scrolling due to the carousel effect [The spinning movement at starting of screen]. It would look odd if it would have been enabled

Can we eliminate the white tint from Lockscreen?

When you use your own wallpapers on home and Lockscreen, the lock screen has a transparent white overlay that makes the wallpaper look really bad. Is there any way or mod to get rid of it so that the walls look rigth? Thanks for any imput.
