Hello.
Anyone else have this issue?
I have turned notifications on and went into app settings to turn off battery optimization but still not getting push notifications.
Anyone?
I'm having the same issue with the ESPN app! I'm not sure how to resolve it.

After doing a search, a person suggested deleting the app, then reinstalling it. I did this, and now I do indeed receive push notifications from the ESPN app! I hope this helps and works for you.

I have a rooted att htc one x with the asia 1.77 rom. I have been using whats app and noticed that I don't get notification of messages recieved till I unlock the phone.
Anyone with a similar issue or idea of change in settings
PS: I have juice defender ultimate in my phone.
Don't have this problem. Must have already sent over 1000 messages on whatsapp. Push notification is perfect.
Do you have wifi on? Leave it off. It causes me to miss notifications because it stops working (while phone thinks it is).
I had this same problem and this is how you fix it:
Go to Settings - Power. UNCHECK Fast boot.
This will fix it so that you still get notifications with your screen locked.
However, if you use Task Manager and clear everything, your push notifications will not come through until the app has been launched.

This is brilliant, thanks so much for this. It appears to fix Google Voice for any other users that weren't getting notifications from it.
I have a question about the clearing of notifications. I have the international version. I have noticed that when I get a notification, say a text message, or an email, when I click on it, it takes me to the application. I look at the message or email and go about my business.
The notification still shows in the shade as if I haven't looked at the message. I have to swipe it clear. I don't have this problem on my other phones. It's kind of a niggle with me right now. I enjoy everything else with phone. Anyone else having this issue? It happens with stock messaging, google messaging, sometimes with inbox, nine mail, mailwise mail, stock email app...
It sures is a bug, I don' have that.
Have you installed Good lock ?

no. If others aren't experiencing this, perhaps I should reset, and re-road my apps. Wonder if it has to do with LED-Blinker pro....it's an app I have installed that controls the LED notifications similar to light flow...that'll be the first app I remove...
and the culprit was LED-Blinker Pro...removed and issue is gone...
For a few week I've not been receiving push notifications for Messenger and a couple of other apps, I've tried clearing cache, reinstalling, upgraded to beta firmware, factory reset to normal firmware, checked every power saving and notification settings I can find and I'm getting no where. I have avast and malwarebytes installed but have tried 24 hours without them.
I've noticed if I wake the phone and see the icon in the edge panel or from the app tray the app seems to wake and sometimes pushes through notifications. Very frustrating!
Anyone got any ideas?

Check the notification setting inside the apps
& check which apps can read and control your notifications in Notifications Access Setting
:good:
I have the exact same problem and none of these settings helped me. Do you think that it is an app-related problem?

In order to get app notifications , you must give app permissions to auto start. Otherwise you only will get notifications when app running .

I found that in notifications access setting, 'notification' was disabled, I've allowed this and will see how I get on tomorrow.
Today I had 50 outlook email notifications come through all at once... Phone blew up like Beyonce!
It's crazy this is happening, really puts me off the S8 plus.
Thanks for the help

Where can I find the auto start settings? Google is not fruitful on this one
Cheers!
Still not getting notifications for messenger. Does anyone know where the setting to allow messenger to auto start is.
I'm convinced it's some sort of aggressive power management feature.

Check the screen shots .
If didn't understand then reinstall the app and give all access include auto run tick when system ask.

I found the area where permissions are granted. Settings>Apps> {Appname}> scroll down to "Permissions" > tap the three dots at top right corner> tap "All permissions". This gets me to an area where it shows all of the available permissions to assign the this app. I do not see an "autostart" or anything similar.
Hi guys,
I'm having problems with getting messenger notifications. Sometimes I just don't get them, only after half an hour. It happens when the phone screen is off and I don't use it. However other apps notifications arrive.
And sometimes I get the messenger notifications in wrong order and it's very annoying.
I tried to solve it by setting the app start to manual but it didn't help.
I hope you can help solving this.

auto launch on
secondary launch on
run in background on
then i press ok.

I can recommend keeping the app you've got issues with open in the recents window. Swipe them down to "lock" them which should make sure they aren't automatically closed. That fixed my issues with WhatsApp without changing any other options.
Okay
Thanks
Facebook only vibrates, even if a notification sound is set in the apps settings. Tried everything really... Any help here pls?
Never mind, seems I've solved

Do you want to tell us how in case anyone else has the issue?
Deleted data...
Dunno why but FB by default does not use the system setting for notifications, so you have to go into settings and change from there, but somehow it was not working. Deleting data solved.
