I know on the Vibrant you had to backup the efs folder so that you don't screw up your IMEI when flashing custom ROMs. Is there a similar folder on the G2X that needs to be backed up in order to prevent the same thing from happening?

As far as I know the IMEI is (or at least should be) a physical attribute of the actual phone.

I got a samsung galaxy s I9000,I have ICS333as my rom, but i forgot to backup my IMEI. And so now I have a IMEI of 0049....
I have no backups or any .bak files.
Is it possible to restore this?

Ok for friends who have completely corrupted EFS folder then the phone is "without imei" just write this file via ODIN in PDA

I used Z3X.
I have i8262 model. Root Explorer shows no files and folders under efs folder but dialing *#06# shows my imei. I cannot even mount my efs folder in recovery. (says failed to mount error) My phone shows an overlay of "Update Device Information"
I think my efs partition got corrupted but somehow imei is shown.
So, How can I backup my imei and restore efs partition?
Shall I just format it?
