Help me root my tablet. - General Questions and Answers

I have no experience when it comes to rooting devices, actually this is my first take. I have this tablet: Android HP 8 G2.
Where should I start?

UP

The only way I know with this tablet is with the kingoroot (not kingroot) desktop application. It's easy to do but the app will install some bloatware in the process.

First step in any rooting you will need the drivers for the tablet. I used these:
http://www.kmods.net/android/drivers_g59.html
i suggest watching this video before using the tool kit needed to root:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?annota...ure=iv&hd=1&src_vid=7EpkrCq1gfM&v=Xx7_S3t96sA
Tool kit i used was Bin4ry v33.
I used option 0 after getting drivers to recognize tablet
Bin4ry post titled Root MANY ANDROID! [Upd: 13.10.2012] can be found on this forum at:

This was very easy and took very little time once drivers worked right i'm running windows 8.1 so had to manually assign them before the check found the tablet.

[Q] HP 8 G2 (HP 8 1411) Root

Hey all. I've been unsuccessful(UPDATE: now successful) in getting my new tablet rooted.
Its an HP 8 G2 (1411) tablet. Ive tried SRSroot, towelroot, cydia impactor and root genius....all have failed misersably.
The 1401 at least gets rooted but has that restart problem....this one doesnt even get that far.
Anyone have suggestions on how to crack this baby? Its on kitkat 4.4.2
So I was able to get this rooted with NO REBOOT ISSUE!!!!
I downloaded PDAnet+ from play store and for the PC. It loaded a daemon on my tablet but was unable to root (took forever). Once done I downloaded KINGO Root and it successfully rooted my tablet in minutes. Root Checker verified SuperSU permissions granted all good to go. Hope this helps others.
YOU MUST INSTALL PDANET AND TRY ROOT THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP. IT SEEMS PDANET PREPS THE TABLET FOR KINGO TO SUCCESSFULLY ROOT!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks this worked great
Thanks for the great information and advice. Worked for me. I installed the PDAnet+ on the HP Tablet and then I installed Kingo Root on my computer, set the tablet to developer mode, etc and it rooted within 5 - 10 minutes.
Now the tablet can at least do many basic requirements such as using a proper file explorer, being able to move files to the SD card directly from the tablet and lots more.
I am going to test installing Apps to the SD card.
Questions:
1) Do you know any custom roms we can add on here, such as CyanogenMod
2) Let me know any cool root tweaks or apps you recommend.
Thanks and keep up the great work
step by step
can you please post the step by step and proper doing this? im afraid to bootloop my device since its my 2nd tablet... i really love this tab... i hope you will help me.
Easy!!!!
I have an hp 8 g2 1141 and I rooted it with the latest version of kingoroot without any issues .......... try it!

I have been trying my best to figure out how to do this. I have ES File Explorer on here and was able to download Supersu from 1Mobile Market but still having issues with rooting this device. I'm new to this and in serious need of help.
I was unable to find anything showing how to root that device. It looks like there is no root method available yet. However you may wish to keep your eye on this thread as this is where a root method would be. Here

Manual root of Allwinner tablet

Hello,
Due to the issue with KingRoot that has been brought to the attention of everyone is there a way to root an Allwinner A83T tablet device manually not using an app.
ADB in linux would be my preferred method if possible. I have found many of the guides for rooting Lollipop devices are either obsolete or just do not work. It is even more difficult if one is trying with Marshmallow. Many of the windows scripts or programs downloadable here are either out of date or just do not work. for one reason or another. I updated the devices in question to Marshmallow but had to move back to Lollipop, after losing access to the internal sdcard. This was when I found out about KingRoot being suspect. Google seem to be making modding Android devices ever more difficult. I hope someone has a solution for this problem.
Thanks.
