Installing OTA updates on oneplus one - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a one plus one and have:
LineageOS version 14.1-20170403-NIGHTLY-bacon
I’ve been getting notifications to download LineageOS updates which are named nightly.
How do I install these updates on my phone? Is there a good youtube video I can follow?
Do I need to install only the latest update or all of them? (There are currently 4 the earliest one being April 10, 2017 and the latest is May 8, 2017) http://i.imgur.com/pAlDSmW.png
Thanks guys!

Download the latest one and once done it will show install. Then it will boot into recover and run a script all by itself you have nothing to do basically

I am using the XT1625 bootloader unlocked Amazon Ads version.
ENHANCEMENTS
This update introduces changes including the following:
- Android Security : Includes the updates of
Android security patches through September 1st 2017.
- SD card stability improvement: Includes bug fix that improves the SD card functionality
OTA File Link:
NPJ25.93-14.7 Size 35.4mb

Moto G4 PLUS Xt1644 retusa receiving same update message as of two days ago.
I have an XT1625 on NPJS95.14-8 (higher than your 14-7) and it tries to install the OTA update and fails quickly once in recovery. I suspect an assert() failure on the system version.
Still, none of these have the October patchlist which fixes KRACK.

1)The OTA listed above requires an Amazon device.
2)Looking at the updater script, this OTA and the non-Amazon OTA for NPJ25.93-14.7 requires NPJ25.93-14.5.
Code:
Package expects build thumbprint of 7.0/NPJ25.93-14.7/7:user/release-keys or 7.0/NPJ25.93-14.5/5:user/release-keys
As you've flashed NPJS25.93-14-8 (the retail, non US June 2017 update), this takes you off the update path for US devices. I do not know if you can flash NPJ25.93-14.5 (which has the June 2017 patch as well) and update via OTA without issue. https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298984458 for NPJ25.93-14.5, https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=817906626617945295 for NPJ25.93-14.7 (both non Amazon), or NPJ25.93-14.5 for Amazon devices: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634798183
Either way, you are correct this OTA doesn't have the Krack patch, for official stock updates you'd have to wait for the 06 November 2017 or December 2017 security patch levels. I recall custom ROMs such as Resurrection Remix and Lineage OS have the Krack patches in place.

Wow - that was INCREDIBLY helpful, and thank you very much. Not only that, you provided the links to 14.5 and 14.7 so I didn't even have to search for them. Again, thank you!!!

Do you know if the ATHENE_AMZ_NPJ25.93-14.7 version is out? I only see the NPJ25.93-14.7 for non Amazon. I really wish I could switch the from AMZ update channel to the Retail. It has to be possible with the bootloader unlocked to flash a retail version. I have searched, but no one has been able to change the update channel.
I guess if I want to have a fresh install, I would have to flash the 14.5 Amazon version and do the OTA for the 14.7.

Just curious...have you been able to stop the ads? I'm also on a bootloader unlocked XT1625 Amazon G4 and have version NPJ.93-14.5. I'm rooted, but regardless, the lockscreen ads continue despite clearing and disabling com.amazon.phoenix and xom.amazon.widgets.

Yes I have. I didn't disable, but deleted the Phoenix.
I don't have any ads.

I used a file manager and looked for system apps and deleted the Phoenix one only. I still have the widget app. I used solid explorer, but es File Explorer works also.
I am waiting for the ATHENE_AMZ_NPJ25.93-14.7 myself. Is it available yet?
Bricked my phone when i installed the retail version of NPJ25.93-14.7 in a bootloader locked amazon version and the phone wont pass of the recovery menu saying an unauthorized version is installed. Searched the web for a while now and only ATHENE_AMZ_NPJ25.93-14.5 is available and i can not downgrade.
Any help will be appreciated

Can I skip firmware updates to the latest?

I apologize in advance if this question comes up often but I just could not find an answer anywhere else! I have an old S7 G930V stuck on the last Marshmallow G930VVRU4API3. It wants to OTA update to G930VVRU4BQA4 from March 2017 but it keeps failing the installation with error code 402. I haven't tried to download and install the update yet with Odin, but I was wondering if I could just skip the next dozen updates and install the latest firmware update G930VVRS4BRA1 from January 2018? Will this cause any problems with the phone for having skipped all of the prior updates or do the latest firmware updates generally include all of the prior updates?
Flashing the latest full stock ROM will include all previous updates.

Latest December update shows security update as October

I manually flashed the latest update for the Pixel 2, RP1A.201005.004.A1, followed by modifying the boot image with Magisk Manager and flashing that, followed by EX Kernel P2-4.09. When I go into About phone, Android version, I see:
Android version
11
Android security update
October 5, 2020
Google Play system update
December 1, 2020
Kernel version
4.4.223-ElementalX-P2-4.09
Build number
RP1A.201005.004.A1
Shouldn't the security update also be December? What could I have done wrong? Is the Android security update in the boot / kernel image or what is it part of?
Security updates have stopped as of October for this device
I read that there's a serious Jan. 2021 security update on the latest phones from Google, and Pixel 2 people don't get it. I'm still using my Pixel 2, but I'm being very careful how I use my phone now.

So just to confirm, you're seeing exactly the same versions listed in About phone, Android version that I listed in the initial post?
Just finished flashing my pixel 2 back to full stock (Build No RP1A.201005.004.A1) so thought id have a look and it's showing October 5, 2020 for security patch also. Ran the OTA updater but says up to date with same patch date also, looks like October was it's last patch.

Magisk v 22 update

Hi All,
I wonder if any of you , who use stock Oreo 8.0 rooted, have updated Magisk to the latest v22? If you have done so, would you mind sharing how it went?
TIA
Most software comes with an event log for each update. This record shows what was changed, deleted, or added, if there was nothing told specifically about your phone, or OS, then it is probably the same as it's former stable version.

Can the OP7P vendor security patch be updated past Feb 1, 2022?

I"m running the official LOS 18.1, installed from the lineageos.com site. I installed it earlier in the year. Now that the 7 Pro has moved to official OOS12 I thought it would be a good time to update the vendor files from the final official OOS 11 release, 11.0.9.1. The About menu on the phone reported the vendor security patch level as February 1, 2022.
I downloaded the ROM from the OnePlus support web site, extracted the payload using payload_dumper, and followed the instructions, replacing seventeen .img files with the versions from the OOS 11.0.9 build. When I rebooted I checked the patch level. It's still February 1, 2022.
So, I have questions. Has anything changed? Did OnePlus not make any security-related fixes to the vendor files between February and August? I'm just curious if there is any way to bring these files up to OnePlus's final version, to make the phone as secure as possible since I intend to use this phone till the wheels fall off. Thanks in advance.
