Android is built to work with the specific hardware it's installed on. You can't just install it on whatever you want.
You probably have to develop the android operating system for it yourself, and that is only IF it can be done at all. If there is no kind of android source code for the device then you'll have to be a very skilled developer to make this happen.
I would find something else to play with if I were you.

Ah ok,
I thought it was a simple thing like installing Windows on a PC from an iso.
I'm not developer at all and wouldn't even know what to do.
I guess I'll have to give up this idea as ive looked into this website but found nothing.

Hi, has anyone been able to successfully get Android to boot / install onto imac G4 PPC ?
The above mentioned link is done be LimePC, specifically for their PPC hardware. Has anyone ported their's to Mac?
I am not too savvy, and don't have time on my side either, so if anyone has an iso available, that I could boot from and install? Would be what I would really be looking for.
Thanks.
Just for the records, the only powerpc port attempt that was ever open and still has sources available is: https://github.com/PPCDroid

Anyone want to help to start Codename Android again ?

Codename Android died somehow due to the main developer being inactive. I want to revive the whole project making it developer independent. So if one leaves the others can still work on it.
I only don't know how to setup git. But I know Java and XML well. Anyone up?
Before you go any further, I suggest checking out this thread, and the links in the OP, first.

Symbol MC7090 Need Android ROM

Hi All,
I have a Symbol/Motorola MC7090 it's currently running Windows Mobile 5.0 with messaging and security feature pack.
I cannot connect via Wifi and I cannot get the barcode scanner to work.
It was used by a developer to test there apps, I was told that it was reset back to factory specs.
Has anyone got a ROM so that I can put Android on this??
Best Regards

I hate to revive this post, but I have the same sort of question. Please let me know if I need to start a new thread. In my case, I have two ROMs from "Zebra" (who seems to have taken over this part of that company). Mine is also the MC40, but the question I have is what do I need to do to essentially convert this from a Windows 7 CE device, to an Android device. I have the drivers for both the Win version and the Android version. I also have 3 of the Android devices and 2 of the Win devices. The model numbers are exactly the same, only the OS is different. Im doing this for the company I work for. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Vivo NEX S (1805) WiFi-Calling

I realize that there may already be a thread about this and if there is (and it's not one I started) then please link it here so I can go read it. I've read just about every thread on this topic and I still can't find the answer I'm looking for:
In essence this phone is perfect in every way that matters to me...except for the fact that I can't enable Wifi-Calling. I have tried using the "Wifi-Calling" app in the Google Play Store, I have also tried modifying the setting (wfc_ims_mode=2) in adb, but still nothing. I guess part of my issue is that I can't understand how, if this ROM (Funtouch OS 4.0) is based on Android 8.1 and Android 8.1 supports WiFi-Calling...why this ROM does not?
Anyone with any ideas I welcome your feedback. Also, there are a series of ADB global settings that I can seem to find out what they do. Anyone have any ideas? Could any of these be the key to getting this thing working on this phone?

wfc_ims_enabled1=0
wfc_ims_enabled=1
wfc_ims_mode=2
wfc_ims_roaming_enabled1=0
wfc_ims_roaming_mode=2
Thanks

What am I missing?

Hello...I'm trying to get Android working on an older tablet/laptop (Dell Venue 11 Pro i3). No matter which distro/version I try (and I've tried lots, both custom releases and the Android-x86 project), I always end up with no wif or bluetoothi. Android installs and runs no problem every time, but without connectivity...
I'm a newb with this but not with PC tech in general. I assume I am missing a fundamental step in how to install and configure/add wifi support but I can't find a comprehensive set of instructions or even some rough steps as to how I can add support for my wifi chip (Intel).
Can anyone point me to some good reading that will educate me on how to do this? (...or just tell me I'm SOL if it doesn't work after installing)
Thanks much. I've been trying to find this information for many days now for fear of it being something that's obvious to everyone else.

You need to make sure that whatever OS you are installing has the correct OS and correct kernel that is built specifically for your device's model number. The kernel is what allows the software to use your hardware, kinda like drivers on PC, if the kernel isn't correct, your hardware doesn't work correctly, regardless of whether the OS works or not.
You need to be using your specific model number to find a compatible ROM/OS for your device.
What is your device's specific model number?
What android version are you trying to install?

I realize now that I've posted in the wrong place....but I'm referring specifically to Android-x86 and the many variations out there (Remix, Prime, Android x86 Project, another whose name escapes me right now).
I've never seen hardware specific versions of Android x86, but I've always wondered if users need to recompile the kernel for their specific hardware...yet I've never seen that mentioned anywhere.
I don't think I have hardware that's super obscure. Dell Venue Pro 11 (7130 MS)...i3, Intel HD4000 graphics, Qualcomm/Atheros/Dell 1537 wifi/bt. The most recent version I tried was 8.1 from the Android-x86 project site. Each variation I try runs fine in every other way, but without connectivity.
