Clarivue screen protectors open for pre-order

Clarivue (www.clarivue.com) have opened pre-orders for their line of Nexus 4 screen protectors (ETA 26 November). I have no connection with the company other than as a customer, but I thought I'd pass along the information.
They offer four varieties: clear, anti-glare, privacy, and mirror. The first two are $12.99 for a pair; the other two are sold as singles, $19.99 for the privacy and $15.99 for the mirror. These are pre-order prices and presumably will go up at some point. There's also a 10% off coupon, code "clarivue2012", good through 10 December. Shipping is free.
These are dry-application and cover the full flat surface of the screen (but not the curved shoulders, which I've seen a number of people here requesting).
I've been using the anti-glare version on my LG G2x for 18 months and have been happy with the performance: only very minor image degradation (and I imagine that will be even better on the Nexus 4, considering how close the pixels are to the screen surface) but very good diffusion of reflected images. I'm a Swype user, so the keypad area tends after a few months to get polished and more reflective; however, Clarivue has a lifetime replacement policy, and I had no hassle at all getting a free replacement protector. I really like the paper-like feel to the surface, as well; I find that a bare glass screen tends to be a bit "grabby" if my fingers are slightly damp from perspiration, and that's not a problem with the protector.
I've ordered a pair of the anti-glare protectors; I'll try to remember to post an update here when they arrive and I've applied one.

Love Clarievue, been using them for years (maybe 10) top notch product. and yes I am not assisted with them just a very happy customer.
These better then spi spigen? I'm looking for the best dry screen protector and I don't know which ones to go with. Both are rather expensive so I want to make sure I just the right ones.
I can't compare them, having never used spigen. Sorry.
Thanks for the heads up. I've always liked their product.
Just FYI you can use promo code "clarivue2012" for 10% off.

I've used both on several devices and haven't been disappointed with either. I also really like the Tech Armor ones (good quality and much cheaper) but they haven't announced one for the Nexus 4 yet.
Quick note: I just got email from Clarivue saying that the screen protectors will ship tomorrow. However, they have now added a back protector as well, so those who had preordered, like me, could opt either for a front-only package shipped tomorrow or a free upgrade to a front+back package shipping on 30 November. I don't know what the retail cost of the front+back package will be; it's not on their web site yet. I'm holding off for the front+back package.
I've used both SGP and Clarivue in the past and I love both.
Hmmm... I wish they let you purchase just the back protector. Maybe I should send them a message and see what they say.
Thinking about buying the anti-glare one today. 25% off with their Black Friday sale!
Just preordered a pack of 2 front and back protectors for $14,99 (12€). Nice catch!
I'm very happy with the SGP films for my Nexus S and Nexus 7, so if Clarivue is as good as those it should be a good deal.
I ordered the 2front + 2back as well with the 25% coupon. Let's see how they compare.
I only ordered the Front. I'm probably going to be putting it in a clear case so the back part isn't as important to me.
I just got an email from Clarivue saying that my order is shipping, so I should have it within a week (hopefully coinciding reasonably well with my receiving my replacement N4, the original being RMA'ed for a defective camera LED).
So I asked them is there a proximity sensor cut out for these protectors and this is the answer I got.
Hello,
Thank you for writing to us.
The first batch (for pre-order) may be missing the cut out for proximity sensor, but starting with our next batch, which will arrive before end of next week, they should include the cut out at top left corner.
If you have more questions or comments regarding our products and services, feel free to contact us.
Best Regards,
Jay

So I would wait on these before I order them.
Gee, that's disappointing -- thanks for the info. Guess I'll be doing a bit of surgery on the ones that are currently in the mail, sigh...
Anyone received their screen protectors yet? I preordered, but nothing yet.
Thanks for sharing.
I have been looking for a anti-glare dry back protector for sometimes, emailed SGP about it but they didn't reply my email. I'm going to order it from Clarivue now.

I preordered, but when they emailed me on Nov. 22 giving me a choice between immediately shipping just the screen protectors or waiting a week for a free upgrade to front+back protectors, I opted to wait. I got a notice from them on Nov. 27 that my order had shipped, with expected delivery in 5-10 business days, so I imagine they will arrive sometime next week.
Just got mine in the mail today and there is no proximity sensor cutout. Awesome. I already emailed them and will update with their response.
I also got mine today and installed it on my sisters phone. Even though it has no cutout for the sensor it doesn't affect the phone when on a call or rotating the phone. Overall I like the quality of the protector.

How does it handle the curved edge and what does it feel like? Assuming they next batch has the cut out, I may be interested, but only if it doesn't feel rubbery (really hoping it has a glass like feel).

[REVIEW] S View knockoff/replica/clone ebay - UPDATED Spigen Flip Mate Case

I bought this case off of ebay and I was very surprised by the quality. This is essentially identical to the actual $60 Samsung S View case. I have only played with the official S View case for a short period of time at the store and have watched video reviews. I was frustrated because I wanted the case but could not justify spending such a large sum of money for it. So I combed ebay and bought 4 S View type cases all under 10 dollars. I have only received 2 cases so far but this one has exceeded any expectation I had.
The case came in a Samsung box that appears to be for the chinese market. Everything about the box looks official down to the "designed by samsung" to the barcode sticker with the inventory part number and date. The case itself is basically an official case. From the front cloth material to the inside felt/leather. The back snaps on perfect like the stock back cover. When I first applied the case it did not close all the way which is common among the reviews I saw but after laying it on it's face overnight, it nearly closes perfectly and I have only had it for a couple of days.
I bought this off of ebay for $8, and it came with a screen protector (I have no need for) and a stylus (I have no need for), but all in all, it is an incredible deal.
For those who want the official S View case but can't justify spending the money, this is perfect.
From all that I can tell, this is the real deal, but I can't see how it could be priced at this level, maybe the chinese market gets a cheaper price? More than likely though, this is just a high grade replica. From little I know of the replica market from watches to bags there are different grades with the low ends being poor knock offs to high ends which are essentially identical and most often made in the same factory where the originals are outsourced to for production.
I read reviews on Amazon for a replica S View cover that is apparently horrible, there is no screen even, just a hole cut out. I was not expecting what I got for the price I paid.
I made a short video review as well on youtube, but I can't post links. Just search for "s view unoffical case"
I am still waiting on two other S view cases that may or may not be identical to this (crossing fingers).
I also just purchased the Spigen flip mate case so the back and edges has some protection. You can get it on the Spigen ebay store for 12.99 rather than 17.99 on their website. I'll post pictures of that when it comes in this thread. Should be here in 3-5 days.

I can't post links yet, just created my account. I bought from seller named "frentaly". In his store do a search for "New FLIP PU Leather CASE Cover Smart Wake View For SAMSUNG GALAXY S4 S IV i9500"
Or go to youtube and search for "S View unofficial case - ebay/chinese "replica" incredible clone" you'll see my video that has a link in the description.
I originally went with this seller because he was in the US and had faster shipping, I also bought 2 similar cases that I have not received yet that were cheaper (one was 4.75) but I don't know how these are, could be identical or could be garbage. I will post when I get them. I also bought a S View case/cover that snaps on the phone, if you find my first video you can see my review for that as well.

Some Bestbuys do it. Apparently it's up to the managers discretion. I got them to price match Amazon for a TV I bought about six months ago.

My GPS works fine and there has been no impact to the signal. I can't imagine how this cover could cause such an impact, the back is the same plastic as the stock back, there isn't even a case going over that may possibly impact the signal. Maybe the magnet was too strong? I can't detect the magnet in this case, tried getting anything to stick, even cut up a small paper clip and it just slides off. I saw a review of a leather flip case that was like a wallet and it had a huge magnet in it, well, not huge but strong enough to pick up a pile of paperclips.
The one on Amazon, from reading the reviews is the one that has no actual screen for the S View, it is just a hole in the cover and many people complain that the back cover doesn't fit properly. I was tempted to buy that one to test my luck but found cheaper on ebay.
Spigen flip mate case
I bought the Spigen flip mate case off of ebay for 12.99. It arrived quickly in 3 days and was looking forward to it as with the S View cover there is no real protection if the phone is dropped.
I am disappointed with this flip mate case. I wasn't expecting much as it is just a piece of plastic that covers the back, but the main thing is that it fits loosely. It is tight enough to snap on and looks good, but with relative ease, it can pop right off. If you actually hold the phone still you can slide the cover back and forth very slightly - that shows it doesn't fit very tight. Also one of the corners is exposed, you think the main thing this case would at least provide is corner cover. I cannot see a reason why they would purposely cut a hole in the corner of this case. Maybe it was a cost saving measure so they could put it into the packaging.
The packaging it came in is over the top. It is a two piece shell of really heavy plastic - just from looking at things, it is apparent that out of the 13 bucks I spent, probably 11 dollars or more went into the packaging itself. The container it came in is much sturdier and seems more of value than the flip mate case, just don't know what I could use it for. The phone itself did not come in such a sturdy and over the top packaging. Really overkill for this case.
I am going to upload a video review on youtube showing how easy it is for this case to come right off the phone.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJJz8j09jrw
Time to start looking for another case that works with the S View. This case was a waste of money.
Update - attached an additional photo. I have had this case for less than 4 hours and it already has a serious scratch in the back. I have been keeping it in my pocket and placed it with my keys for less than 10 minutes. I usually keep my keys by the doorway and I forgot when I got inside. When I remembered, I saw a large scratch on the back of the case. It isn't deep, but as you can see in the photo it is easily scratched. I have to be more careful with this case. So not only is it loose but it scratches at the lightest touch.
Got another S View type case.
This one is a case, not a cover that replaces the back.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/18116295298...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
The front cover is identical to the first one I reviewed except the samsung logo is missing. Same cloth material, same color. The inner cover is covered with a soft fabric/leather/felt type material.
Instead of a back cover for your phone, this one has a case. It is clear plastic, smoke colored. It covers all four corners and the phone fits in tight. One nice feature of the case is that the power button is cutout so there isn't a piece of case obstructing it. Small detail but makes hitting the power button easier than Spigen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJJz8j09jrw or other magnet S view case here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TY2d2ifC8Mg
All in all, it is a nice case, It is under 6 dollars and for those looking for an S View Case that want protection for your phone other than buying a Spigen Flip Mate this is a great deal.
Here is a youtube review

xtremeguard screen + body protectors + tempered glass for insanely low prices

So I have no idea how their products stack up to some of the other top of the line brands, but I have used XtremeGuard tempered glass screen protectors from them before and they worked just fine.
They just released product for the pixel and pixel xl, and are running a sale on it.
All said and done, I got 3 tempered glass screen protectors, 1 full body film with install kit, and one "HI-Def" screen protector, all for $8 shipped.
Even if its not the BEST quality product, It's a steal and probably worth a try, for some backup screen protectors. Use code Giant92 for 92% off along with the sale.
Like I said, I have shopped with them multiple times before and not had an issue. Figured I'd share. Cheers!

To Canada, using the lowest costing shipping option, takes about 2 business weeks once its left their warehouse. I've ordered from them a few times now and it can take a total of 3 weeks from click to delivery. I'm definitely ordering it though as you can't go wrong with the price(at 92% off).

I emailed XtremeGuard and got this
Me:
I see that the screen protectors for the Pixel and Pixel Xl are now available. I have seen some companies screen protectors don't cover the entire front face of the phones due to the 2.5D glass. Do all three of your protectors(Screen Protector, Spartan Glass, and Hi-Def) cover the entire front of the phone or just to the edge of the screen?
Thanks,
(Me)
Relpy from XtremeGuard:
Not sure what 2.5D glass is to be honest. From what I know, if the phone has beveled edges like iPhone 6/6s/6 Plus/6s Plus/7/7Plus etc. does for example, then our glass and hi-def protectors will only cover the flat parts of the screen. Our regular XtremeGuard protectors will cover everything including any curved/beveled edges. I hope that answers your question.
Let us know if you need anything else.
Thanks

Not a fan of cases in general, but with the $50 credit after preordering the S10+, I got the back LED case. I was more intrigued by the technology than the case itself. I'll most likely order a skin or a slim case by mnml or peel.
better get a case than paying for ordering

Changed my order to S10+ and that's my final pick, it has a kickstand and since it's clear it'll show the prism-blue colors:
I got this grey rugged kickstand case free as part of my S10+ pre-order!
I've gotten the Otterbox Defender for every phone I've had and can't complain. Just got the Defender for my S10+ in the mail today.
Looking for a clear case, cause it doesn't make sense to buy prism white an do cover it with an opaque case. The Spigen fits the bill, but till wait. More case makers will offer discounts.
Can I get a link to where you saw they'll be including a clear case? And are they including one with the s10+ as well? Reason asking is I'm seeing the opposite on other sites and want to verify before I order a skin instead of a case. Or i could play oblivious and have two cases. Wife will never know ?

I don't know if I trust them with their estimate.
I got the bumper for my nexus 6P and pixel 2xl and it was my favorite.
I wanted it for my 3xl, which I ordered on announcement day last year, but by the time it was available I had bought a slew of other cases and didn't feel like spending any more. Especially since I only had plans on keeping the phone for a year.
I once again ordered the 4xl on announcement day and I'm trying to be patient but I've already ordered 3 other cases so they need to get with it and finish the bumper case already. A discount code would be nice too as it's not the cheapest case in the world.
Just checked their website again, looks like their bumper cases are now available for pre order with shipping around the end of November (so long goes the "early november" time frame they told me)

I don't know if I trust them with their estimate.
I got the bumper for my nexus 6P and pixel 2xl and it was my favorite.

Totally agree with you here. Their website is now open for pre orders for the 4 XL but doesn't ship till the end of November, which is far too late for most people since other people would already have gone with some other case at this point.
I got a clear case temporarily hoping the bumper one will come out within the next week or so but looks like that won't happen at all :/
Just pre-ordered mine. Said Nov 29 estimated ship date.
+1 to everyone that recommended. Had it for my pixel 3xl and it's the best. Only negative the white won't stay white forever.
FYI. Case shipped today!

Please let us know how you like it.
I'm a big fan of these but as I've stated previously, I've already purchased (and gotten free) some other cases and I just don't need another.
And I'm never spending $40 so I have to pay the $5 shipping, which is annoying for a $25 item.
TIA

For something other than Rhinoshield, check out XXXXX. It's a case with a transparent back. I am assuming you didn't want a full case in order to preserve the looks of the phone. In that case, this could be a good alternative.
It has protection on the edges so that the phone can take a few drops easily. Plus its cheaper than Rhinoshield.

Thanks for the rec.
I was sent the Schnail case that some got for free and that's my "protection against all circumstances" case. It's surprisingly great!
I just ordered the Rhinoshield bumper case and should have it by Wednesday and that was my favorite on a few of my recent google phones.
I'm using my google fabric case since Saturday and I like it too.
I also have the ESR Mimic, which might be my favorite. The combo of slimness, tempered glass back and grippy tpu bumper is really nice.
I know, at the very least, the bumper will yellow eventually but it is a very nice case.
I also got a deal on the Totallee slim frosted clear and it's pretty cool too. Absolutely the slimmest case ever.
I obviously have a sickness that's shared by many on these forums. Please pray for me. Lol.
MOD EDIT: AFFILIATE LINK REMOVED

I used the Rinke on my Pixel 3XL and never had any issues. Dropped a few times, no damage.
I've tried a few cases with this Pixel 4XL but I'm back to the Rinke!
Also have the ESR mimic on order.
I got my rhinoshield case today and it's of course what you would expect. Fits perfectly and if minimal as can be. The buttons are crisp and very very easy to identify which I truly appreciate.
In short if you like a minimal bumper case that shows off your phone without taking anything away from it, look no further.
Anyone heard anything on the Ringke Onyx? Had this on my 2XL and 3XL, but they don't make it (yet) for the 4XL. The Fusion looks like too much for me and possibly a lint trap. I reached out to Ringke, but it's the weekend so won't likely hear anything back until next week. May have to start with the Spigen Rugged Armor.
I bought the UAG Plasma, its a little heavier than the Rinke but fits great and looks like it would be plenty of protection from a fall.
The crashguard has a lot more texture than last year

I absolutely agree!
So glad I ordered one. I had it for my nexus 6P and my pixel 2xl and loved it. Skipped it on my 3xl as I had too many cases and now I have it for my 4xl and the fit, look and protection is top notch. Highly recommend.
I have bought too many cases again so I try and spread them out and use them all.
I like the esr mimic. It feels and looks great with the tempered glass back.
The Totallee frosted clear case is scary thin, but feels great in your hand. Only protection is from scratches if laid on it's back.
The Schnail case I got for free and it's actually quite good. Incredible protection but I don't have much use for it.
I also got the google fabric case, which I also had for the 2xl and 3xl. It's not as good for the 4xl. The feel of the fabric is better but the fit is not as good. It's not as snug as the past 2. A little disappointing actually.
I wish they would hurry up and release it into the Amazon store. The one for the smaller 4 is there but not for the XL.
