Android Volume Adjusting? (dB) - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

Is there a way to make the volume louder, adjust the Gain or so?
Just to make AUX louder, anyone?
Thankyou.
Kind regards,
Semmi

I adjusted the AV-In from 10 to 18 now (max is 20). Makes the aux louder, thought it was about the sound during vooce calls as the option is in the section 'voice' haha. Thanks
When putting the volume higher, it gaves a irritating beep. You dont hear it when listening to music but you will hear it when there is silence.

All those settings under "voice" is for turning up volume ??
HAHA I thought it was the same as you Semmikabel
Now I'll go turn all mine to 20 lol

Google Voice play back volume low

I believe I've always had this issue on all three of my Android phones. When I go into Google Voice to play back my messages, the volume is always on max, but the playback is still very low. Across all phones (two captivates and a cliq), volume is low regardless of ear-piece or speaker.
Is there any way to increase this volume?
Thank you to all the ultra wise for all your assistance and hard work to make android what it is today.
The Google Voice default is to playback through earphone rather than speaker phone. Hold the phone to your ear or change it to playback through speaker phone.

Yes I know this. As I explained above, the volume is low when played back through ANY speaker on the phone. This could be indicative of a software limit on the app maybe...
The volume is so low that unless I'm in an almost silent environment, its difficult to hear anything. The transcriptions aren't quite helpful just yet, but I've noticed them getting better.
I had this problem today. The message was SO quiet that I could not make out what my friend was saying.
Google Voice needs a few tweaks, like the option to switch to speaker on the fly.

I understand you wouldn't want to set it to playback on the speaker by default, but if you hit the button to the right of the seek bar while its playing, it switches to the speaker phone. Still a bit difficult to hear. even if you put it directly on your ear.
I would say one of the best things about this phone is that you can hit speaker phone and flip it over and use it as a regular phone. That way you have a SUPER loud ear-peace. Good for clubs/concerts/loud places... but not loud enough for my damn messages

[Q] Low in-call volume

Hi,
I'm new to the HTC 7 Pro, I only have the phone for a week. I like it but I have an annoying problem with it: the in-call volume is too low. It's OK for the Office/Home environment, but it's barely audible in a crowd... Of course the in call volume is set to the max and I tried the registry settings to increase it to 15 but it only changed the volume steps, not the volume level...
Any idea to fix it? Can I fix it by flashing different/older radio firware?
TIA!

If you don't mind being overheard... speakerphone on low on your ear is a physical fix.

Half jokingly I came up with the same idea But I haven't tried it. I'll try to take the phone apart and clean the speakers but I have to collect some braveness first...
I wish I had that problem. The ear speakers are a bit loud for me. what's worse is at minimum volume, it's impossible to hold a conversation through headphones; Its so freaking LOUD!!

[Q] Earbuds excessive call volume

So I only noticed just now the Nexus 5 did not come with any earbuds. I have been using some cheap Skullcandy earbuds for music and they are decent enough to block out transit noise and play music at a moderate volume. However when I try making a phone call, at the lowest volume the sound is just ridiculously loud. It is painful for me to attempt to listen to more then 10-15 seconds of call audio wearing these. I also tried with my Galaxy Nexus earbuds, and it's the same story.
Has anyone found a pair of earbuds with mic that delivers gentle, quiet call audio at the lowest call volume of the Nexus 5 on stock ROM? Failing that, is there anything I can do to decrease the headset call volume further than the volume control will allow?
Bump, anyone else experiencing this? It shouldn't be deafening to make a phone call with earbuds...
OK I'm going to bump this again. It got WAY worse on 4.4.1. While I appreciate the volume boost for the phone's speaker, the earbud volume situation is out of control. The lowest volume setting on music, in a quiet room, is the loudest I can tolerate on earbuds - no option of turning it down lower. The lowest volume setting on phone calls is earth-shattering on earbuds - completely unusable for conversations unless I want to go deaf.
Is there ANY way I can force call volume down further on the headphone jack? Hacks, kernels, Xposed modules? I really don't want to be locked out of being able to make calls with earbuds.
All perfect with 4.4.1, skullcandy have a very bad quality earbuds, better buy sennheiser.

The sound quality is great, it's just too damn loud. Same with the earbuds that came with my Galaxy Nexus.
The call volume is ridiculously out of proportion with music volume. That is not the fault of the earbuds. The OS should not be pushing out call volume significantly louder than the music volume at a comparable setting.
OK, so a friendly individual in the Franco thread directed me to this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532788
I simply used the same instructions for the mod but reduced the number rather than increase it. For call volume, the value that I changed was under path name "voice-headphones". The original setting was 20 and 20 for HPHL and HPHR volume. I turned them down to 05. I thought I heard a reduction from 20 to 10 but did not hear any further reduction from 10 to 05. Then I also tried reducing the RX1 and RX2 digital volume. I tried taking them from 84 down to 64 which was maybe a bit low, so I settled on 70. At that setting, the loudest IVR systems I've reached on the phone are just right at the lowest call volume setting, and I still have room to raise the volume in noisier environments.

[MM roms] Big problems with bluetooth headset (LG HBS-730) low quality

Hello,
i have one big issue that prevents me from fully enjoing marshmellow roms ,the bluetooth audio.
I have a bluetooth headset from lg hbs-730 an they work just fine with every android (this year i changed like 15 handset) and NEVER had any problem, they just works.
BUT they dont work on a oneplus with mm rom and i can't understand why.
the headset connect via bluetooth with no issue and audio comes out fine at first, but when you get heavy bass or just a lot of instruments in the song the audio lose quality and noise ramp up.
do you know why?it is fixable?
the only hint i have its that the audio control on kk,lp roms are different ,so when i push the up and down volume buttons on the phone the bluetooth audio of the phone is managed, but when i press the volume buttons on the headset it manages its OWN volume.
This doesnt happen in MM roms, when you push the volume button of the headset ord the phone its the same volume bar which is managed.

Anyway to Lower Volume?

hi i have a xtrons PF75AA4A headunit. everythings works great in my audi a4 cabriolet with bose system. i have rooted the unit and installed viper4android so the audio is better than what is was before. The only issue i have with this unit is that the lowest volume "1" is set too high. i would say volume 1 is equal to like 8 or 10 on normal car systems. i cant seem to find an option to lower the volume. if i put the car in reverse than the audio levels go lower but this is cause of parking sensors. Its annoying when im driving and want some ambient music but the lowest volume is too loud.
any help would be appreciated.
the std sound out is fine to power a normal sound system, but the Bose system requires an UN-amplified sound input I have the xtrons in my Silverado with the Bose sound system once I got the AMP powered on I had FULL sound for lack of a better term, then proceeded to cut the speaker out(s) on the harness and added rca male/females to the sound in adapter from the back of the xtrons unit to get sound volume that works. It's been fine since.
quote from a guy on a truck forum
the stock head unit from GM that are Bose the output from the unit to the amp are NOT high level speaker outputs like your regular non-bose head units. instead they are low level rca signals

in Joying in Factory Settings there is a way to adjust volume levels
**** i'm looking for a way to turn it up!
I see that this thread is for lowering the volume, but the fix would be the same if someone needs it to have higher volume by default.
When the HU first starts it always sets the volume to 14 or 15 i think......WHY??? i want it to stay as i left it before shutdown. I don`t think any of the android phones changes the volume when you do a reboot. There are some volume settings inside the "factory settings" menu, but when you change the settings it needs to reboot, and then the problem with no sound and no working buttons comes up, so there is no way to test it, as i have to do a factory reset to fix it.
No wonder there is no restart option by default...
I use my HU with the factory installed stereo "BOSE" with 3rd party AUX unit and i control the volume with my OEM stereo so i need the volume of the HU to be up to the max.
I hope someone finds a fix for this.

it sets it at 14-15 upon boot up to protect your ears.
yeah, i know this but still..... Maybe there is a way of achieving this. Now i remembered that there is as app on the market- "Liama" that you can use to do various settings changes when certain conditions are met. This might do the job.

Factory settings/other/boot default volume. Default is "no" which persists the volume from last use.

Well my problem is intermittent. Lots of time my head unit would restart with the last set volume... other times it would go to 15

I only have these options in my factory settings

How would you find out what you have and then ask those that have your unit?
