Umi zero WiFi problem - General Questions and Answers

Hi everyone,,
I'm having problem with my phone "UMI ZERO" , when I first purchased it it was working fine but after a year I noticed that Bluetooth isn't working properly, after a while the wifi started to disconnect and some times work but at 1mb/s even though my router supports 20mb/s and it works and connects only to a specific WiFi connection in my house, if I tried other WiFi connections it either doesn't connect to it at all, or connect to it but the connection speed is 1mb/s only even if the WiFi router supports higher speed.
I tried to format the phone and installed some WiFi apps but no luck!
Can any tell me how to fix it ?
Thanks in advance..

Have you restarted your router?
I know you said everything else is working, but give it a try anyway.
I have the same problem...Please help
yes i restarted my router n every thing !! but i cant get it to work
I had a similar problem once, but luckily it was during a session of me messing with my router settings. I live in an apt building, TONS of other routers here, so the frequencies are all crowded.
Do this...
Get this app for your phone:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer
Find the best channel available for your wireless network (you don't need to be connected to the internet or your router for this). In your router settings set your wifi to that channel (should be the least congested, the app will tell you which channel number). Hopefully that will help.
Also, if possible, set your wifi to only use 20MHz instead of 40MHz if it's in the 2.4GHz range, otherwise you're just causing the same problems for your neighbors. Be a good wireless neighbor!
Oh yeah, and update your router's firmware too, older firmwares are sometimes not fully compliant to wifi standards, it might help your connection issues! Also, use WPA2-AES encryption. WPA2 because it's the most secure right now (for personal uses anyway) and AES because most devices can do AES in hardware, so it's faster and uses less battery (plus I believe the higher end 802.11n speeds recommend that encryption for top speeds).

I am having the same issues.
I just purchased the moto G and it will not work with WPA2-AES. If I removed the encryption it works great.
I have another wireless router in the house using WPA2-AES and that works just fine.
I have a sitecom using with wpa2Aes and no problem here

[Q] Help! Very bad wifi signal at 2,4Ghz?

Hello all,
I just bought a Oneplus One.
But when I tried to connect to my home Wifi (which is 2,4Ghz, and no options to use 5Ghz) it didn' t saw my router.
Now I downloaded Wifi Analyser, This is showing me that I only have a connection with my router if my phone is only a few centimeter/inches away from the router.
This problem is not in my router because i have this with all the wifi connections that are using 2.4Ghz.
All the wifi connections that use 5ghz are working fine.
I've already changed the channels on my router, which didn't make any difference.
I also did a factory reset, still nothing.
I also changed the settings of my phone to only use 2,4Ghz wifi.
I set my wifi performance to his max but still only connection with my router if I hold my phone a few centimeter/inches away from it.
Does anyone have any ideas that I can try? Its really annoying that I can use wifi
Thanks for your time!

[Completed] Problem with Wifi Connection, no common issue

First of all thanks in advance for your support.
I have a rooted android Tablet Szenio 785qct with Android 4.2.2, it was working very well but the battery and the wifi had problems.
I thought that the wifi problem was in relation with the battery power, but after the replacement of the battery it persists.
The problem is very strange because:
- I switch on the wifi.
- It looks for the wifi connections.
- It Connects and an IP is assigned.
- But it does not navigate in internet.
- The info of the wifi connection says that is connected at 0 Mbps. The signal is full, i am near the Access point.
- DNS is assigned ok.
- File hosts is clear. (only localhost 127.0.0.1)
- I can connect with Ethernet wire or with bluetooth to my mobile phone shared connection and it can connect to internet. But not with wifi.
After this, I have searched for this problem in any way, but I did not find anything.
I dont know if it could be a bad configuration…
I would appreciate an idea for this…
Hi !
Sometimes this happens after a software update , try to reset the wifi router
Good luck !

my new phone is losing wifi connection all the time. help plz.

samsung a40
android 10
wifi: 5ghz
there is something very strange here. other phones work perfectly. can you help me?
under mac address type (in the phone under wifi settings to a specific network) you can choose random mac address as well as phone with mac. what do you choose? same problem with both.
edit: i reset wifi settings. it seems to be working fine now.
the problem has resurfaced. the phone does not connect to wifi even though I reset network settings again. it connects but drops signal immediately.
can anyone help me please?
ok i get issues again. now i connected it to 2.4 ghz. ill return to tell if it got solved or not.
since i started using 2.4 ghz wifi. ive never encountered any connection issues. this samsung a40 phone seems to have issues connecting to 5ghz wifi.
hope they'll fix it soon.
