Hi guys,
I have a lumia 640 running windows 10 creators update. Since i came to creators update, whenever i open youtube and watch something, the screen starts to flicker crazily (more frequently if the volume button is pressed and the volume display pops in or when i slide in the notification bar while the video is running). This happens only in landscape mode and not in portrait. changing to portrait when the screen flickers immediately stops the flickering.
I have tried hard resetting.
This happens only in edge browser, and not through any other app when accessing youtube.
I dont think i can uninstall EDGE browser by doing the 100 year trick can I? and reinstall it when i do a hard reset.?
I then updated the software to the latest insider build in fast ring to see if it helps, but the issue still persists.
The one solution i have is to use the WDRT to flash my hone back to stock firmware which is WP8.1, but MSFT has stopped giving WP10 updates via upgrade advisor recently this year, so i would not like to be stuck at wp8.1.
Is there a way to go back to any previous build of WP 10 and not WP8.1 (in which my phone came originally). I also checked in Lumiafirmware.com which has only wp8.1 firmware for my phone.
Please help. I could only find Project astoria firmware files for running WP10 in my phone but since its shut down, i dont know if i can come back to the Creators update of WP10.

Hi! I manually installed the Android 5.0 update by unlocking the bootloader and manually pushing the files onto my Nexus 5. Everything is working fine but since I installed it, it noticed that when I plug my cellphone and the screen goes off, the phone is acting really strangely. The screen keeps on flickering, the shutting down screen sound plays in loop, my wallpaper goes back to the factory one, and my phone is unusable. The weird part is that when I unplug it, it goes back to normal, except the wallpaper that does not go back to the one I chose.
Any ideas why it's doing this? Before that, I did not have any problem whatsoever.
Thanks a lot for your help!
The problem is exposed here: https://code.google.com/p/android-developer-preview/issues/detail?id=82
It was an issue on the preview build with French France... Google fixed it. However they didn't fix it for French Canada.
The workaround is to set the os language to US English or French France.. And wait for a fix from google
Thank you! It works now!
Anyone having the same issue and have found a solution?
Phone suddenly stuck at some instances even with non-extensive usage.
Yesterday I was only using Facebook app. When messenger bubble pop up, my phone suddenly spiked. Moved once and then it got stuck already. You'll notice that it's not Facebook app only that's not functioning since nav. buttons are also stuck. You can't go press home and clear recent apps/hibernate apps. Power and volume buttons are also not functional.
So I assume the main system crashed. I only did a long press on power button to restart.
I installed Franco kernel r73, and thought that issue would only occur with stock kernel.
However, it occurred again today, I was viewing photos in Stock Photos app. I haven't started viewing the first 10 images yet, so memory should not be consuming that much. I turned on the auto rotate to view the image larger. When I turned the phone landscape, it reacted like it's about to rotate. And suddenly it got stuck. This time, power button is functional. It turns the screen on and off but it still turns to the same stuck screen, not the lock screen.
I've been experiencing this since 5.0.1. and almost everyday since I updated to 5.1.
I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue on my unit since mine is already about 1 year and a half old. I don't want to buy another phone yet!
Or is this a common issue nowadays due to Lollipop upgrade. If so, then could you provide temporary fix before they update this on 5.1.1.
Thanks a lot!
I had something similar . When I put forward the curtain hangs notice and then everything worked fine
Meh
I've seen this behavior on my Nexus 5 only on 5.1, and I'm pretty sure, it was introduced with that specific lollibug version. It's really annoying, that you have to reboot the phone every two or three days to avoid the freezes.
There's already in issue for that, it has got the ID 161032.
After watching a few YouTube videos on the Galaxy S8 I got a notification that my Note 4 had a software update. The conspiracy theorist in me genuinely tried to stop me updating in case this was the update that will bring me a whole load of annoyances in order to force me to update my phone, but I went ahead anyway and low and behold I've had major issues with my phone ever since.
Main issues are random crashes, slow response times (like a minute or so) and random reboots. Seems to happen mostly when I wake the phone up and the longer the phone has been in sleep, the worse the issues are.
I have done three factory resets, (even they were buggy and at times unresponsive, such as it not rebooting when it was supposed to) but the issue still persists. I have removed the SD Card (advice from another website) but it didn't help.
Current version of the update shows as being N910FXXS1DQC8 / N910FBTU1DPL1 / N910FXXS1DQA1
Am I right in thinking the only way to roll back the update is to root It and install a previous update? Would rather not do that and hope someone has some advice please.....
I've been facing this issue when I launch any games my screen goes black and I've to go back to home get the game from recent otherwise it wont work any other way will do nothing but black screen.
I get that too sometimes while watching twitch. Rolling back to Android 9 fixed everything for me.
Be sure your animations are set to at least 0.5...should fix it.
I have had a OnePlus 9 (Model LE2115) for a few months now but it frequently crashes when using the front or rear Camera (Default Camera app, Google Lens, Signal video chat, etc.). The device will lockup with a frozen screen and after 60 seconds or so it will go black. Then I have to hold down the power & volume buttons to get it into the boot menu and perform a full power cycle. If I boot the device into safe mode this issue seems to go away so I assume its software based since everything else is working fine with the device. OnePlus support unfortunately was of little help. The crashing unfortunately does not seem to be consistent since for example I can take 10-20 photos without issue and then on the 21st picture it will fail.
Android Version: 12
Build number: LE2115_11_C.63
I have tried clearing app cache on affected software and reinstalling applications as well. The device has not been rooted and in general is mostly unmodified.
Apologies if this has been posted before but I performed several searches and could not see anyone discussing my issue.
