if its just a security patch, no need of reseting, and if its a huge update, then its better after resetting

I have downloaded many versions, but none off then seemed to go throught the upgrade process.

Heya.
Since on B380 my battery drains too much, I want to go back to B360.
Can anyone tell me if this might work? My idea is to:
- flash rollback which brings you to B300
- use firmware finder app to update to B360
I think it should work, but I am not sure. Has anyone done that already or has anyone a clue if it works?
EDIT:
I've tried to do so, it does not work. (fails during the updating process)
Why dont you play safe and rollback to intermediate version (b300) and then b131 and only after that b360 ?
My battery is the sabe on both versions , drains too much , in marshmalow it was better

Honestly? I'm too lazy to set up my phone again after going to B131. Rolling back to B300 doesn't result in data loss.

I have also problems with the B380 update, comming from B360.
Now I tried B131 but still no chance to boot up the phone. I see the blue Honor screen, after some time the phone reboots and stops with a screen "download latest recovery and update".

best thing to do then is to flash this https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/61697/G900PVPU3BOK4_G900PSPT3BOK4_SPR
then TWRP 3.0.2. after flashing twrp boot into recovery and select reboot and itll ask you to swipe right to enable root. Do that and youre stock and rooted with official firmware

Example: Can VIP does not even nugat but Can Vip custom rom

Have you took in consideration to reflash your firmware? Anyway you have to post your phone model, without that an user can't provide a functional backup since that it could be for a wrong variant (AL10, BLN-L21, BLN-L22... ecc.)

You can't update through system update or MiFlash, I tried to push it through sideload no dice, also tried to boot into twrp and install as a zip from there, same thing -- just bootloops. I wasted an hour on this; it also installs TWRP as recovery so I think that's why it might be stuck looping.

Now, they're testing android P....so it's strange that someone comes out with this new version...

Yup, you're right.
Just format data and install this rom with TWRP and it's working.
However, it's strange the leap from 8.8.3 to a 10.0.2....
Makes no sense. There hasn´t been any update from Xiaomi for a while.
So what is this based on so that this could be a stable (8.0 !!!)?!
Format Data? I´ll ignore this "update"...I have better things to do than find out this new ROM may be nothing new.

Well, the fact is that everything is working great, and as i said in the last post, the videos wallpapers are really cool...
Maybe this was the last 8.0 build by xiaomi.eu, and they haven't shared with the public...
I don´t want video wallpaper....it´s stupid!
This will eat battery like crazy.
My Miui 8.8.4 (Beta 10) is running fine too. So what?!
If you like it...then good for you...I like to know what I´m flashing.
It's the stable xiaomi.eu mi mix 2s miui 10 build. Before that, everything was beta build.

What I'm asking is has anyone tried to encypt data successfully? Settings - privacy - encryption - encrytp phone?
I'm asking this because I haven't found a xiaomi.eu rom that supports data encryption. Only system is encrypted.
