Not scanning qr code - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

I always used Portal by Pushbullet on my devices, but my Mate 9 can't scan the qr code to access. I tried with other apps that use qr codes and they work fine.

Same issue (Mate 9) - anyone had any luck?

Get .APK link instead of QR code ?

I prefer to install Android apps using HTC-Sync or iAPK, but most Android markets web site don't provide the .APK link to download the app on my computer.
Only andappstore.com has intelligent download link, recognising the device type (PC, phone).
Is there a way (firefox add-on, Greasmonkey userscript, userstyle) to convert the app's QR code to .APK download link browsing Android markets ?
Thanks
First of all: It is not possible. The reason for this is that the QR code doesn't contain any market information. The QR code just holds a link to where on the market it is located. It is formatted like this if i remember correctly: market://search?=com.android.name
Secondly: Why do you prefer to do it that way? It is much easier to just use a barcode reader app on Android, hold it over the screen for 2 seconds and then click Install.

Working QR scanner on Jellybean

Anyone found a Jellybean ROM, in which a QR scanner can be used? I have NFC enabled on my skyrocket but can only use it on CM9 roms. Im running Paranoidandriod skyrocket 2.0 which is beyond incredible. I just can't find a working scanner. Any help would be appreciated.
Google Goggles seems to work just fine for me on Jelly Bean for scanning QR codes. Haven't tried Barcode Scanner on Jelly Bean yet but you might also want to give it a shot, though Google Goggles should suffice for most of us. Hope it helps. =)
no such luck

I tried Google Goggles and yes, I can scan a picture in my gallery but it will not access the camera to do a scan. I have tried several apps and it always shows a black screen. I never can see the barcode or the NFC tag.

Pixel 2 eSIM is available for any carrier .. with a big caveat

I've been poking with Android studio to see if my Pixel 2 has support for eSIM outside Project Fi and the answer seems to be affirmative. The following code when run on a Pixel 2 on Pie returns 'enabled'
Code:
EuiccManager mgr = (EuiccManager) context.getSystemService(Context.EUICC_SERVICE);
boolean isEnabled = mgr.isEnabled();
// isEnabled = true on Pixel 2
// eUICC Android 9 APIs claim this means eSIM support is available for apps
Seems that carriers should be able to create their eSIM apps for Android and it will work in Pixel 2. Google Fi app must do exactly this.
Sadly, there are lots of security restrictions around these APIs and it doesn't seem possible to create a 3rd party app that can read QR codes and download profiles into eSIM without rooting. It seems likely one can easily create a system app to download eSIMs from QR codes after root. But this was obviously Google's job with eSIM manager, who has inexplicably reserved this feature for Pixel 3, and has locked the app on Pixel 2 to a version from 2017 that can't do QR codes.
TLDR
Pixel 2 supports eSIM for any carrier, but only if carrier provides app for eSIM provisioning. QR code eSIMs won't work unless Google updates eSIM manager.

It is possible to install a newer version of SIM Manager which does support QR code scanning during eSIM provisioning. However, at least from my experience, it still would not help as the process is unable to finish successfully due to some exceptions. It seems like the updated SIM Manager is unable to obtain the eSIM metadata. Some logs are mentioned in this post.

SOLVED..QR code not reading by Payment Wallet apps

I have installed GMS and working fine with the device. The only issue I found so far that the payment wallet apps name bKash in Bangladesh not reading the QR code. I can add money, send money, make payment except the QR code not reading in bkash.
The device can read Whatsapp web QR code.
Anyone can help me to give me a solution on this please.
Thank you.

OP 7 pro OOS11 camera issue

So, I'd gotten used to using QR codes for menus and other things a lot of places we go lately (thanks covid) but now that I got OOS11 up and running on my 7 pro, QR codes no longer do anything in the stock camera app. Was wondering if there's some option/setting i'm missing? Or if i'm just stuck using a QR code reading app separate from the camera app?
some claim if you have Google lens installed that option will be in the camera app
