SM-955N how to unlock LTE bands? - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

I got the Korean Telecom version and any country I go I can only get 3g. If I use 4g switcher and set to LTE only it does not connect.
Is there any way I can unlock LTE?

Answering my own question,
*#2683662# goes into the menu for service mode.
Then UE settings and infotmation, setting, protocol, nas, network control.
Here I can see band selection and band disable. Still figuring out what these do.

hi

What country are you in and with which network? Which particular bands are you trying to unlock?

I'm in Canada and want to see if I can get LTE band 66.

[Q] No 3G network can be seen

I used the unlock code to unlock my D2G and I am in Hong Kong using a local gsm sim card (PCCW 3G). But I can find only 2G network using 'Search networks' function. My setting is GSM/UMTS - Automatic. I have tried other phone using the same sim card and it can find 3G networks. I have typed *#*#4636#*#* and select radio band to USA band (in Phone info -> press menu button -> Select radio band -> USA Band) and it don't have any option for me(other than USA Band). I can see 3G network before and it seems to this problem appeared after I made the USA Band setting in *#*#4636#*#*. What's wrong with my setting? Can anyone help? Thanks a lot.
The problem is that you cant use the USA bands over there and the 3G frequency that they use is probably not supported by the phone
Phone has 850/1900/2100 bands. I am pretty sure Hong Kong uses 2100. So band should be supported. However, I know many providers limit some type like prepaid sim's to 2G. Maybe this is the case? Do you get 3G in another phone with the same SIM?

I have tried other phone with the same SIM and some 3G networks can be seen. Thanks for all your replies. Any suggestion for the setting? Thanks.
Which operator/network is the sim from?

Actualy, D2g has a very poor signal of 3g. It's because of the original rom whivh customised for using in us. You will have beter signal and battery life if using fission rom.
The SIM is from PCCW mobile (Hong Kong). I have made the same setting again (*#*#4636#*#* -> Phone info -> press menu button -> Select radio band -> USA Band) and no more network is available now (even 2G network). So I think the setting blocks all the network other from USA radio band. But how can I set it back? Help!!!!
I hate to say it, but an SBF might be your only option...
So, as of right now, your phone can see NO networks, or just no 3G networks?
My phone CANNOT see any network right now.
Hard reset it.

Done twice already. Not work.

Photon Q works on T-Mobile LTE

Hi All,
I was recently on holidays in the USA which using my Photon Q sim modded by Cornholio I was able to get LTE on T-Mobile. This was only in areas where they have re-farmed 1900 mhz (band 2) to LTE. I'm not sure if this makes a difference but I also changed nv 6828 for 1900mz bands 2 & 25. So in theory LTE should work on AT&T where they use 1900 mhz band 2 LTE. AT&T was was coming up a lot when I was doing a network search. It is listed as AT&T 4g.
Regards,
Sebastian

Hope you enjoyed your visit...
I've never played with any of this, but I'm an AT&T user in US... what exactly are you saying to try setting in the phone in order to try to get LTE on AT&T.... and if there's any way to know if AT&T is using that band in a particular area?

Hi,
This is what I did with my phone to get LTE was the following: Using the phone dialer
*#*#4636#*#* and in phone information menu change data to LTE/GSM/WCDMA
##3282# and in the LTE menu make sure that you have LTE as enabled, if not edit the value to enabled. You need to use the msl code for your phone to do this. I have an app to do this if you need.
To see if AT&T 1900 LTE is available in your area, go into settings, mobile network settings, network operators and choose the option search networks. A list of available networks will come up. If you have AT&T 1900 LTE band 2 available, this will be listed as AT&T 4G. Tap on this and you should be able to get LTE. The Photon Q lists LTE as 4G in the status bar on the top of the phone.
Hope that this is some help

This don't help op. But *#0011# works on my tmo sd version. *#32489# does not work.
*#0011# opens the LTE and CA side of the Service Mode to check LTE band and CA information.
*#2263# opens the service mode to let you change band preferences and see what LTE bands your phone is capable of.

Are you using a Verizon variant? If so, service mode is disabled sadly.

You are correct about *#0011# part but... *#2263# doesn't work on EXYNOS 955F international sim-free variant.

After getting into servicemode, do you know how to access the main menu in nougat? I tried "back" "Q" "back" "0000", but it doesn't work. I can't seem to find any information. I am actually with S7 (930U firmware on 930T) Thank you.
*#2683662# for the exynos variant, however, it may say not supported as is the case on my s8+ after a recent update.
On unlocked international SM-G950FD just two worked:
*#0011# giving menu:
Select STACK
STACK 1
STACK 2
*#2683662# giving menu:
Not supported
(nothing really to change)
I need to get to LTE & GMS bands. Can anyone help?
(and if possible CSC manu change, something like *#272*IMEI#)

ATT and Mi Mix 3

Hello XDA community,
I have a Mi Mix 3 Palace Edition phone and I am using AT&T for my carrier. The phone came with a Chinese ROM but I flashed it with a Global one. I have been trying to get 4G + LTE to work on the phone but so for all I am able to get is 3G. I have contacted ATT and was told that my account was not setup for it. So ATT's advanced technical support made sure the IME/my account on the phone was LTE enabled. I am still stuck on 3G. I have selected the correct APN for it but I do not connect.
What am I missing?
Preferred network Type?
preferred network LTE.

Did you checked if your apn is correct?
Try selecting 4G network manually. I faced issue like that initially with ATT MVNO. After seleting 4G network manually I am geetting 4G+
In the Settings, go to About Phone, and tap the storage until it brings you to the SIM and WiFi screen. Tap on the Phone Information for the SIM you are using and set that Network Type to UMTS/LTE.
AT&T blocks any device you did not purchase directly through them from using VoLTE and WiFi Calling. 4G is also LTE, so if you see the 4G icon, that is also LTE and 4G+ is also LTE-A.
