AOKP-ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT
What is AOKPAOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
WHY AOKPWe were waiting for when you'd ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they're "baked in" by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone's settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?
Features added by me-1.Pixel accents,2.Voice over lte indication on status whenever Volte is available.

Subs legacy support all roms. Cmte is fully supported
Sent from my Redmi 3S using Tapatalk
Beautiful rom completely flexible and featured as mentioned in the description. Just now installed. Camera didn't work for the first time. But after reboot, it's working properly. Contains most of the tweaks. Great job.

Aokp actually support substratum. But this rom feels to be written on base of Los. So, it might not. Need to try and see.
are you going to support it ? thank you

Not true. AOKP MM is CM13 based = cmte!
AOKP N is CAF based and supports Substratum.
To be honest, this looks like another wave of drop and run ROMs. Just like his crDroid rom.
awesome dev, wanna try later soon

I think so too. Some kind of thanks collecting. I am glad there is one ROM (fedosis) at least.
Look at the miui device forum. That is where we are heading towards. Lot's of barely usable zombie roms with users thanking and wishing a lot. I wish i had the time to support or develop...
As i like the hardware package very much...

"Development is the process of programming, documenting, testing, and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks resulting in a software product." So, or you posted this ROM in the wrong section ( this is the development section), or we are happy to see this ROM being developed.
instead of making same roms that already exist, and never develop them. Why do t you guys focus on fixing bugs like dark camera recording and all camera problems ? Why waste time on making 7 exactly the same Lineage os roms,2 exactly the same aokp etc...what is the purpose of a rom if only the name is different and all bugs and features are the same. Why would anyone use the same rom with different name that no one update or develop further. You should focus on fixing camera bugs or developing stable nougat rom instead of wasting time on same MM roms with different ame and same bugs without ever updating them. I also agree this is just thanks collecting.

Please don't be offended by these posts.
You've done a wonderful job building this rom.
In some ways they just want to say, that it'd be really nice if you had built any other stable rom (eg, xenon hd, aoscp, etc) than the ones we already had, with the long existing problems fixed, slowly.
No one wishes to undermine any of your work.
People are just sad that we have so many zombie roms, but just one of them is maintained.
Hope you understand.
Cheers mate.

But the thing is just because few people doesnt love a blisspop rom or a mokee or aosp ..xosp doesnt mean that other would not love too.... few like mokee ....few like rr.... few like lineage....few some other rom because they all have different features of their rom..... so these hard working developers are build roms not for few but for all.... so you can use the rom you like and not other.... so guys before complaining about a developers work or anythng.... thnk about the overall situations before then react ... and i know all few remaining bugs like dark cam and all should be fixed...and yes it would be slowly.... we have full faith on our land developers.... so please dnt comment on someones good and hard work and please learn to appreciate evrybody's work be it small or big and i just wanted to sort this situation and no offense or grudge towards anyone.....
Why u have included
Firmware images in the zip
It can create prob for some users
Who wants to shift back to their previous roms
Or i am wrong it is necessary for ur rom??

PER-APP-DPI/LAYOUT. This is not tablet mode! Hybrid engine allows you to target apps individually. You get to pick their actual layouts which can tranform content drastically. Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with build.prop hacks or DPI changes. We list all layouts an app brings, you choose one, its as easy as that. It does not matter if your device runs itself in Phone-, Phablet or Tablet-UI, your apps will always look as you like. On top of that you can scale apps, to fit your screen, that way you can even bring full fledged tablet apps and make them run perfectly. Nothing will break, nothing will shrink, your market will be fine. Additionally we have rewritten many parts of the android framework and fixed countless of AOSP bugs to make way for these modifications - our "tablet mode" runs better on a phone than on a real tablet, that is guaranteed.
PER-APP-COLOR, Paranoidandroids newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel. See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.

If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

One minor question: How often do you plan on updating this ROM? I know you are so busy with so many projects; how can you do all this?! Just asking since Ben left us in the dust. Every CM nightly, every Paranoid Android?
Thanks for the work gonna try this and report any issues if any. Will also see if this works with your CM10 kernel.

Yes, I will be maintaining these roms as more updates get merged. Just like AOKP, I won't have the time to build every night, but I will be updating the ROMs regularly.
And yes, my AOSP kernel works with the ROM.

How's your aosp Rom coming along?

At long last! Paranoid Android is here!! Klin, you da man!
Despite having no Ubuntu 64x system nor experience with Android and compiling from sources I was willing to have a dual boot just to try build this ROM following some guides.. this is how desperate I was. But not anymore
I will definitely get this ROM the moment the current wakelocks in CM10 nightlies disappear. I used to run the CM9-based one and I loved it if it wasn't for losing panorama (I love taking panoramic photos).
Might want to edit your sig to include this sick ROM

I'm making good progress. But in AOSP there's no 'make otapackage', so I'll have to make a flashable zip with the kitchen.
But as of right now the device tree isn't set up correctly, causing it to bootloop. But it's getting close.

Buddy first no offence or im not degrading your efforts. But please browse around the forum. All custom roms use somewhat the same mods and changes which is already made ready by some senior developers. If people have come around with some new developments, then whats the reason that all the roms perform similarly and especially in regards to ram managements except for visual changes.
All these mods can be done by a little advanced android user with the help of kitchen and some advanced tools.
Instead of jamming up the threads with new roms, a better option would be to make a flashable zip of optimized mods, which will be within 30mb max and will give the users the same experience of all custom roms.. This will work on most roms, as 90% of them are based on stock firmware except for lewa and miui.
I am not pointing this just at you but its a request to all the forum members. These kind of roms will just lead in to confusions on which to use while the performance is 95% similar to each other.
No offence again!!

First of all! I expected appreciation instead of you saying this all!
First of all you can't group other people and me... No one is a pro.. They aren't senior.. Look at XDA their not even babies! Also, I am not junior in terms of account creation! I know XDA since it was started but I never made an account because I wasn't eligible at that time!
You can't compare roms in terms of the Author! You can't rate the rom good if the Author is a RD/RC/RT.
Also, I said this is the Beta Build #1 which has nothing to do with theming.. This is just to check if it works fine with users!
I am going to add OTA just like in JetMOD in the RC 1 of this rom!
UI Changes will be made but not with the design but with animations! I want to give AOSP look!

CHILL BRO!! I said I was not pointing this just at you already. BTW I didnt mention the people who created the custom roms as seniors. I meant the people who made supercharger scripts, kitchen, etc means real developing from scratch. And there was no question of rating a rom so the developer being a RD/RC/RT dosent matter here. And again whats the point in adding a OTA and making some UI changes when there is no major performance change.

Everyone needs to join the party at one time or the other. Both of you were correct in your own ways. Kishoredroid you were right in getting a complete rom out vs modded zips. But you need to start somewhere. If nolinuxnoparty feels this is his start then let go with it. Just giving another option to users which i know already have plenty of options already. But the main thing to see is what this evolves into. How much the dev learns and make it stand out from the crowd. All the best. Lets appreciate each other views.
Kishoredroid - thanks for trying out and understanding the stance.
nolinuxnoparty - make sure you keep up your words. Will be looking forward to more of your work as you have stated!

besides it will be a wise decision to release patches of small space. there is no point in downloading a whole rom which is a common one.please understand this.

But I guess, it would be more impressive if you guys actually do what you've stated, coz as posted...the beta build isn't flashing... @nolinuxnoparty - Just one thing, it would be better if you don't say who's an XDA Baby and who's a Pro...better show it through your work...
As for now...I will wait for a stable version of this ROM...
I guess I need to change the base of the roms!
Until then I have asked mod to close this thread! Once I have links for working builds I will ask mods re-open again
Soryy if it hurted the Team of Radium or other Dev's . Sorry once again. Leaving this thread as it was.

To All Dev's and the Team,
I m just trying to remind you that without kernel, building AOKP or PA or Cyanogen from source is impossible and if I am not wrong we don't have a single dev now who wanna give a try on kernel. Changing the base only and porting a ROM on Micromax JB as base will likely to be a theming not a port actually.....
So please team and others if you know the goodies of Java and C++ then please try for kernel first.
Will be waiting for a positive reply from the Team and the Dev and others as well......

I really didn't understand the reason why you posted here
I dont take chances with MMX phones basically.. Just think, if ur phone hardbricks the guy to be blamed will be me. I can develop kernels but not until My friend or I have the device.. Stop posting here now! JB kernels are not possible without proper source!
EDIT:
Most of the legacy device which have JB 4.2 didn't even have kernel source for GB.... Their is no point arguing on this :sly::sly:
And this rom isn't a post.
No more replies until next release.

Because the old AOKP thread was inactive for a long time now, I will be updating it from now on

AOKP-ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project.
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you'd ask this.

Just #HYPE to see such a rom thanks a lot
I am still totally inspired!!!
Great work !!!
Nice work bro.
Thanks for keeping Xperia L alive
Due to problems while syncing, the ROM is discontinued. If the problems disappear, I will start updating it again.
Forget about my last post, @Adrian DC helped me with my syncing problem and now everything works perfect. I've cleaned my device tree, so now it's ways easier to see my changes.
I just built and tested my new build of AOKP and it looks like it is working perfectly fine. If you find any bugs please fell free to post them here.
Changelog:
-Updated to latest Android 6.0.1_r61
-Up-to-date with latest AOKP changes
-Up-to-date with latest CyanogenMod
-Up-to-date with latest device specific changes(were a lot)
-a lot more.

A log would be great! But that in call audio is a CyanogenMod bug, I can test some things but can't do anything yet. So basically we are using the old audio HAL right now and somehow it broke itself...I could change it with the new audio HAL but there are a lot of more problems, look in the AOSP thread from Stryder.
So for now, use the old version of AOKP for in call audio or wait until I'll release a fixed version but I won't give you any time limit because it could only take days or maybe some weeks...Just wait for that.

MoKee Open Source is the biggest non-profit Android Open Source development team in China, with members from all parts of the world. We follow the latest development from Google closely and improve various parts of Android according to the user habits. Being a non-profit organisation, we utilise our spare time and own funds to keep this passion alive. Therefore, the costs for the forum and servers are solely beared by us. In order to provide a good user experience, we only included a few preinstalls in the ROM. Along with the advertisements in the forum; we hardly get enough to pay for the bandwidth. The point is, those are our only source of income, however many developers choose to exclude them when releasing unofficial builds. Unlike CyanogenMod, we did not accept monetary help at the early stages, as in China, most people do not understand the meaning of “making a donation”. They would think of it as buying a service, which is conflicting with our objectives. Anyways, we still made it until today, and even started to provide third party developers a chance to utilise our OTA system. All of these are the fruit of our hard work and passion. We are proud of the happy users, and we are also proud of the support given to MoKee Open Source. Most importantly, we are proud of the improvements we have achieved all these while, and the advancements never stop.
I am not the maintainer or developer, I found this and wanted to share it.

Exactly. So a bump in that thread will get the attention of the unofficial maintainer also. So that he'll update the post. Just needs updated links and title change to official.
Sorry, thought I was being helpful. I contacted the original poster of the UNOFFICIAL mokee rom for the redmi note 4x and asked him to update his post. I also posted the link in his original post.
Oh and it looks like someone did post the official link in the Unofficial thread back on April 8th and still the original poster didn't update the title or links. So it looks like the original poster doesn't really care.

If some moderator wants to delete this post then that's fine. Hopefully the original maintainer will update his post. That or if someone who knows how the topic should be posted would post an official one then great.

I just found this and posted it here for people to use. I can't answer any of your questions. If you look at the original post you'll see that I stated that I'm not a developer or maintainer and that you use this rom at your own risk. Once more people use it and report on what they find, that'll probably be your best source of information.
I'm going to try the rom this weekend. I'm excited because I liked the Mokee rom in the past. The developer team is good and has a lot of experience so I'm GUESSING that the rom is pretty smooth.
I see someone also replied at the same time I did. Sorry for repeating the other persons post.
Thanks for your suggetion. I know he is just sharing it. Coz it is mainly maintained by Chinese developers.. Are you using this?
Dont you have yellow flash tint
Dailing lag
Good battery backup..?
How to download incremental update by updater...
Any one tested this rom
If any one tested this rom means please provide screen shot of the rom and bugs of the rom also
Just installed
Mokee
Which is butter smooth and almost bug less except yellow flash.
Dialer broken animation is no more here.
And the features are best picked.. no useless features..
It is supporting incremental updates too.. but not from updater app.
Which you should need to download from Moore downloads..
If anybody want I will give the ota packages link.

CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled ROMs, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best ROM we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub...
What is PAX?
Our release of Android 10, titled CR-8.0, is codenamed PAX after the latin word for peace and Pax, the roman godess for peace.
PAX provides you with the features you need while keeping the focus on delivering an elegant, smooth, and well polished experience. PAX delivers a set of unique features, like a systemwide font engine that also allows for applying fonts on user apps while supporting user fonts through custom APKs generated on fonts.carbonrom.org. We are confident you'll love it, and there's many more things to discover
Disclaimer:
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! As always, make sure to do backups.
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has addressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
3) Join our Discord server or Telegram group! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
Requirements:
You should start off with the latest OxygenOS on both slots and then proceed to flash Carbon.

There are plans but I can't provide any specific information yet. I'm part of OnePlus' dev seeding which means OnePlus will provide me with a device from the OnePlus 8 series, likely the OnePlus 8 Pro. However, due to the current situation, internal approval and processing was and is delayed which also delays us getting the device, so I'm unable to provide you further information at this point.

+1 could someone on this please test the WiFi connection? On other custom roms e.g Havoc, when further away from the router (therefore a weaker connection) the WiFi would disconnect/reconnect. This does not occur on OOS in the same situation. A log shows some error going on.
Also to the dev @Myself5 , if I were to switch to this rom, experience this issue, would you be willing to analyse a log in hope of finding a solution?
Out of curiosity also, is this based on the same source as Havoc?

I didn't experience any unnormal WiFi behavoir in the past 3 months I've been daily driving it, but if you get it I'd gladly look into it.
I don't know what kind of device sources Havoc uses, but I'm working together with the Lineage maintainers on device trees. Apart from that the only common thing Carbon and Havoc share is being based on AOSP, i think.
