Problem with front camera - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

I have this amazing device since last month and as I travel a lot I'm facing a strange issue with the selfie camera. When you take a photo with the front camera you can't select the zone to focus and so in places with a lot of light my photos resulted to be too overexposed with the background that was really difficult to see. Is there any solution with the stock camera app?

the fron cam has fixed focus so you can't change it manually. Try moving your hand and re positioning the camera. That generally helps me in fixing the exposure to light.

[Q] Pictures blurry, photo taken

Hey everyone,
Just recently, I've been having a problem with blurry pictures because the photo taker assumes that the photo is taken and saved before it is taken.
Previously on roms, once you press the blue button on the camera app, you see the autofocus do its work, and then it stops (which means the photo has been taken).
However, on the ROM I am currently on, it does the autofocus and the still, but takes like 3 seconds after that before the photo is actually taken O.O I'm not sure why, but this is causing a lot of blurry pictures because autofocus doesnt account for the 3 seconds between the focus and the actually photo taken.
Any ideas?
I do not have your phone/brand/rom so I have no experience in your device whatsoever.
However, I think that you are spot on about the autofocus potentially being a cause.
Are you able to disable it or use another camera application that has tap to focus or similar?
Sorry for the late reply.
Using another camera app causes some glitches (parts of the picture cuts off, streaks of white on the sides, etc.). Tap to focus will not help the problem because there is still a gap between when the pic is taken and when it is focused.
Thanks.

[Help] Videos captured from Xiaomi MI4 front camera gets automatically flipped!

I'm experiencing problem with my Xiaomi MI4 front camera. Everytime I capture a video from front camera, the resulting video is flipped horizontally. But capturing images from front camera just works fine, though rarely it flips image too, that happens cause of the angle we hold the camera to take the picture. And that can be fixed with apps like Pixlr. But the video...it really sucks. It gets flipped every f**king time, doesn't matter what the capturing angle has been. Please someone help fixing this bug!!!
Thanks in advance. ?

Is burst mode broken?

Hi everyone,
I'm facing an issue with burst shooting.
When I burst-shoot photos in mid to low light conditions using the HTC stock camera app, I can see that most of the photos (except the first 3-5 photos) are filled with colorful noise all over them...
I'm using an EMEA HTC U11 128GB model with 1.27.401.5 software and camera app v9.20.9740975.
Am I the only one that facing this issue?
Please refer to the attachments to see the problem yourself.
Left image is the third burst-shot and looks OK.
Right image is the fifth burst-shot and looks very grainy (all the burst shots from the 5th and on look like that)
There is nothing wrong with it. Burst mode does not have the noise reduction algorithms which are available in hdr auto mode. Therefore these shots are perfectly normal in bad light conditions. Mine does the same.

When I capture burst shots on the ported google camera app, all photos are looking just fine without all that densed noise so I think you are wrong. You can try it yourself.
Something is very wrong with this feature on stock camera app on my side, I'm sure that it doesn't need to look like that at all.
I see a clear difference between the 3 to 5 first shots and all the rest, it's like they were taken by a different sensor!
I thought you were asking if your phone has a problem or not, so I answered according to what I understood.
It's how the stock camera app is. It needs some updates to fix these issues, there is nothing we can do about it except waiting.
I do believe that google camera is superior to stock app with good settings in almost every condition therefore I use google camera.

Thanks for the clarification.
Meanwhile I will continue to use burst captures only on Google Camera app.
Hope that HTC knows about this issue and trying to fix this as we speak. :fingers-crossed:

Selfie camera blur

Hello, I got the phone 2 weeks ago. One flaw that I found is that when I take a selfie if the background is close it's ok but if the background is far everything is blurred. Is there any way I can make selfies without blurred screen. It doesn't matter if I use portrait mode with no effects or normal photo mode it's still blurred.

Question Wide Angle lens problems

I'm having problems with my wide angle lens as it results in green line noise in the pictures. Anyone seen this before or is this a hardware defect? It only occurs on the .5 mode of the camera, which I think is the wide angle lens.
The elimage error can be seen in live view, too. In live view it is flickering.
Try doing a FACTORY reset of your phone once, JUST IF this might some weird software glitch. But this is not a noise, this looks like a faulty sensor. But to make sure, try a reset first.
You could take one with raw enabled, you can rule out software compression then but that looks like the sensor is playing up to me.
I remember reading about this it's the app of you un install the update it should be ok till an update happens to fix it
Thank you for your answers. Does anyone know of an app that can address the wide angle camera other than the Google Camera app? So I could also rule out that it is due to this app.
