I seem to recall seeing some threads for the S7 where developers came up with a flashable zip or CSC files to enable ATT Volte. But I have not been able to find them now to try those.
Has anyone found something that can add support for these on the S8 international models?
WiFi Calling is already there in phone settings. VoLTE is not though.
Are you looking for the thread for that flash able zip for s7 or are you? I know there's a link somewhere in the renovate rom thread for it. I have s7e exynos on att with working volte and I am trying to wait for confirmation that s8+ exynos can have volte also on att before I purchase

Thank you for the link. That was what I was looking for. On the Rom I have there was no SYSTEM/CSC folder, so I added the one in the above download and changed the permissions of the directory and files as in the thread. Sadly, it seemed to turn on Volte
I think we'll have to wait for the new att firmware to float around for the s8+

I pulled that down and can unzip it. I see 7Zip can read tar.md5 files.
I see in there:

interested to know if this will work on an international device...
Thank you.
In CSC_OYN_G955UOYN1AQC9, I see /system/omc/ATT which was not present on the phone I have. I extracted and copied that ATT directory to the phone and changed the directory permissions to 755 and files to 644. There was a omc/ATT/res directory but that contained ring tones and the death star power on and shutdown screens - so I did not copy any of that crap to the phone.
Rebooted. Placed a phone call and I expected to see a Volte icon up on the status bar. No joy. So I assume there is something more to it. This was on an international S8 plus "F" model.

did you enable VoLTE under settings? (didn't see it mentioned above) also, do you have to change the sales_code.dat and sales_code_list.dat files to show "ATT" in the OMC directory and also in the build.prop file?

Sadly, Volte did not show up under settings.
I am not sure how one edits those dat files. I did not see any references to any of this in Build.prop. I did see that the references to ATT were missing under SW_Conifiguration.xml. So I went ahead and copied sales_code.dat, sales_code_list.dat, and SW_Configuration.xml from the CSC_OYN_G955UOYN1AQC9_CL10895874_QB12856072_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5, changed permissions and rebooted.
Nothing new in settings. Still no volte icon in the status bar during a phone call.
But reading the S7 thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/17-03-26-renovate-edge-beta-1-sm-g935f-t3339149/page524, they indicated that there was no Volte in settings in Nougat, and one person said that it started working a few hours later somehow. Maybe one just has to be patient. There is also lots of posts there about having to call ATT to get it enabled if you don't get a phone from them.

i have VoLTE settings with Renovate 1.1 ROM, however, no indication it's working. will follow the same steps you did AND call ATT asking to change the IMEI to an ATT phone that's capable of VoLTE and see if i can get it working.

I think you are on to something. I went on to the ATT web site and looked at another phone I have where Volte and WiFi calling work and the web site lists "AT&T Call Protect" and "Wi-Fi Calling" where as the phone I was trying to enable did not.
The nice ATT agent said she enabled it for me, but the web site does not yet show it so I'll assume it needs time for the back-end to update it.
So I put these same files back (listed above) that I had extracted previously since I restored and changed the permissions again and rebooted. Nothing new appeared in Settings as I hoped WiFi calling switch to show up. I tried placing calls but no Volte ICON on the status bar.
I'll wait a few hours and try again. But reading the S7 Volte threads, I do believe you need to have the carrier enable it and the CSC files. But there are probably other stuff to get things to show up in settings. I just don't know what else.

i copied all the files to the appropriate folders on my phone and upon reboot, saw a message saying Android is upgrading. still no indication of VoLTE, i'll give ATT a call as well. i'm going to look at the ATT build.prop and compare to mine to identify changes. i also read that the USERDATA file included with the OEM Samsung Stock ROM might be required on your device as well. maybe @Tkkg1994 can incorporate into his ROM (although i haven't been able to successfully flash to my phone). :fingers-crossed:
So for me getting volte to work on my exynos s7e, I just happened to be on Superman rom, took extracted csc from att firmware, replaced my csc and changed permissions, then nothing, then few hours later volte icon and rcs (hurricane icon) showed up in status bar but upon testing it wasn't actually active, so then I got on att chat and pretended like I dont know y my phone wasn't showing up as s7e, so they asked me for the imei and I gave them my wife's s7e att model imei, and they manually updated the imei and BANG! Got volte

Thank you for the confirmation. On your S7, once you loaded the CSC files, did you notice new stuff under settings ==> Connections ==> Mobile networks ? Like WiFi Calling or Volte?
I also don't understand why on the S7 /system/csc but on the S8 there is no /system/csc but /system/omc and both are nougat - I just don't get it.

Hmmm - "Enhanced LTE Services" - I am not seeing that choice on my international S8+. Just four choices - LTE/3G/2G or 3G/2G or 3G only or 2G only.

**I am not responsible for any damage you do to your phone. This as any other mod is done at your own risk. This is just a guidline on how to get a real fix for blocking mode on your VZW Jelly Bean device.**
This blocking mode fix has been confirmed on both the VZW Note 2 and the VZW Galaxy S3
*You need to be rooted.*
IF YOUR ON A NON-VZW BASED ROM:
JUST FOLLOW PART 3!! (and part 4 if you like!)
IF YOUR ON A VZW BASED ROM:
Part 1
There are two apks that are the reason for blocking mode not working. The two files are the secContacts.apk and the secPhone.apk. You will need download these two apks from a other carriers rom and replace them in the system/app folder in root explorer (or your choice system file explorer) and change the permissions.. (For example download a flashable "att" note 2 rom and copy the secContacts.apk and the secPhone.apk and paste them into your system/app folder. Restart then change the permissions then restart again. Same thing with the Galaxy s3 only you have to download files from another carrier galaxy s3 Rom. From this point on blocking mode will work 100 percent.
Part 2
Now that you have blocking mode working, how can you access it. You can get a shortcut maker app and have a blocking mode home screen icon... OR..You can have it in the settings menu like it's supposed to be! Now just like before there is an apk that VZW had changed to block this. It is the secSettings.apk. So from the same rom you downloaded from before copy the sec.Settings.apk from the other carrier Rom and paste it in your system/app folder in root explorer. At this point you may or may not get a chance to restart your phone (it might freeze for a sec and restart by itself. Once phone restarts change the permissions and restart again. **NOTE: Some roms settings mave have more or less options then the stock. To access these just also copy and paste the secSettingsProvider.apk and everything will work perfectly** **NOTE: menu appearance will not change yet!**
Part 3
Last step. Now that you have the new menu there are still two more files that are causing the menu to change. In root explorer navigate to /efs/imei and delete the map_code.dat and then go to /system/Csc and delete the sales_code.dat. Now restart your phone and you are good to go. **NOTE: after deleting these files any VZW apps on your phone or in market will not be recognized on your phone. For example if you try to download a VZW app from the market it will say your device is not recognized. But they have 'market unlocker' apps that can trick the market to see you as any carrier you want. Also VZW Apps like backup assistant might not work properly.
Part 4
This is not really related to blocking mode but I though I might throw it in here as a bonus. If you copy the feature.xml from another carrier (ex is use the ATT one) and paste it in you /system/csc (I'm my opinion) makes your VZW phone better. The stock email app for example will never try to connect to the VZW server again. It will just go straight to the email app. It also seems to make your phone more responsive and work better with certain samsung apps. (Ex: the samsung apps.apk connects better with samsung push service.* Like I said just a little something extra I noticed.*
ENJOY!
EDIT: Those of you having trouble with step 2 with the secSettings.apk, try the file from either of these rom:
EDIT: You may need to wipe first.

I didn't mess with it long, but I got it to work once, but then I wiped and tried again and the same method I used didn't work, so I tried following the OP and didn't work.
if deleting those two files isn't that big of a deal I may try and figure out how to appropriately port this MOD using VZW .apks edited using int. .apks

Which rom are you on? I can give you the files iv been working with if you want to try. Iv been working with an ATT Rom. This method after wiping worked with the files iv been using.
As for the sales_code.dat and map_code.dat as i know that are just for the market to reconginze your device a VZW.for certain VZW apps. Like i said the only thing it did after deleting them for me was the market thing. certain apps like backup assistant might not work properly. everything else is fine.
Also yea a port might be better. Let me know whats up.

Ok so on my note 2 I am also on clean Rom ace. So all I did was delete the Sale_code and map_code files and it will show blocking mode in the menu and blocking mode already works. no need to replace any files because clean rom uses generic apks i guess that work for all carriers. so blocking mode already works.. as for the galaxy s 3 i used an att rom to get blocking mode to work with the method in the op. I will upload the files and send you a link in a minute

Another way to do this is to use the 23 lidroid toggle MOD and just enable the "dormant mode" that is blocking mode, this way you don't have to mess with settings.apk and anything with market. long press the toggle to access the settings. and flash the phone and contacts. i havent tested to see if anything works but it should id imagine. if not at least u dont have to mess with settings..

True. Although I personally could are less about any of verizons apps. I think they all are garbage, so for me i dont care about the market saying my device isnt recognized because i dont use them anyway. And the whole reason behind verizon changed everything in the the first place P*$$ed me off and drove me to want to change everything back, the way it should be, the way ALL the other carriers have there phone set up. This is how i found my method. So swapping the settings.apk for another, and deleting 2 (IMO) useless files, will make the menu look the way it was intended to with blocking mode in the menu, no replacement airplane mode toggle, and NO permenant backup assistant accounts, which shows up even if backup assistant is deleted on your phone. There is obviously more than one way to achieve this a blocking mode fix. Its good to have options.

I wasn't posting this to put you down, just a simpler way to do it.
Just because you don't think that those file are important doesn't mean EVERYONE else feels that way. I give you mad props for finding the other two (useless) files to get it to show in settings (which isn't even made for our phones and adds a lot of MORE useless crap).. IMHO
I'm sure many users enjoy your method, but I think many others will also appreciate NOT having to replace their settings.apk and remove files that a VZW phone needs. Pushing the Phone.apk and Contacts.apk from Synergy is no biggie since we use that ROM anyway.
No need to get defensive bud. Team work is the key here, I'd like to eliminate all int. .apks, and try and port w.e code is missing from our VZW .SecPhone.pk and SecContacts.apk.
again, like I said - mad props for figuring this out bro, many many people across VZW on sgiii and note2 were requesting this like crazy.
and again wasn't trying to put your method down by any means, just letting those know of another way.

I wasn't trying to sound like I was getting defensive I was just saying what I thought. Thanks you for the props. I also have to give you props. I agree the missing code is a better and easier method then mine. And I agree team work makes the dream work lol.. I have no idea how to edit the code and go through lines of code of apks so your skills clearly surpass mine.. but yeah glad I can help with what I discovered and hope we can figure it out properly.
I just wanted to share this with any verizon unlimited users looking for a solution to wireless tethering with the V20. This needs root.
1.) Download modified HotspotProvisionVZWG4.apk. This is from the LG G4 post http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-g4/general/how-to-enable-native-hotspot-unlimited-t3166435
2.) Rename '/system/app/HotspotProvision/HotspotProvision.apk' to 'HotspotProvision.apk.bak' (I used root explorer)
3.) Rename '/system/app/HotspotProvision/oat/arm64/HotspotProvision.odex' to 'HotspotProvision.odex.bak'
4.) Copy the modified HotspotProvisionVZWG4.apk and place it into /system/app/HotspotProvision/
5.) Check that the permissions on '/system/app/HotspotProvision/HotspotProvisionVZWG4.apk' is 0644
6.) Reboot phone. Enjoy native hotspot
Wi-Fi tether router in the app store works perfect. I can't remember how much it is because I bought it a long time ago.
Your way is much better, free, and easy to do.

That darn rooting thing! Just giving it a little while longer before I go that route, letting things settle in now that the VZW variant has success. I've got this thread and file saved for that day tho! Thanks for the info.
Just wanted to share because I spent the day looking for a solution. I had been using foxfi on the note7, but foxfi wifi tethering doesn't work in the v20 nougat. I tried a bunch of alternative apps but none let me get past the subscription check. This mod has been working great, though the rooting processes is still pretty rough.

I don't get step 5. I don't see anywhere to find 0644
Edit: rebooted and tested and it works. Thanks for this
Just because I had to Google it myself:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/set-0644-permissions-from-es-file-explorer/
Shows how the permissions tree looks for '0644' permission. Explanation here:
https://www.quora.com/Android-opera...es-some-files-need-these-types-of-permissions
---------- Post added at 10:35 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:29 AM ----------
And to follow up, not sure if it's just me... but I also did not have the file listed in Step 3. I am able to start the hotspot but any time I try to go to Set Up Mobile Hotspot to change the SSID or password, it force closes. I miss my PDA Net days lol
PDAnet still works with the v20 but not via wifi. Works with usb cable which I have used and Bluetooth which I have not yet tried. Been using it for years.
NO ROOT NEEDED : )
That is true, but I can't very easily tether my phone to my cheapo smart-TV with a cable
For what it's worth, the deodexed 996 stock ROM :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/us996-100-stock-deodexd-rom-t3520131
has the hotspot built in, working flawless, with editing SSID possible just fine. I'm sure his other ROM's might also, but I'm on that one and everything worked right away. Was the first thing I tested as soon as I flashed it lol.

I ended up using the Stock 996 unmodded ROM, which has all the tweaks (RootSwitch) and stuff enabled out of the box, and the hotspot works perfectly on that one. Yes, it's not a "Verizon" ROM, but the only issue I've had at all, is that the My Verizon app doesn't work, nor the Visual Voice Mail. I do miss the functionality of both, but for me the hotspot is more important, and I can always check the others manually in a browser or dialing into the VM anyway.
This works fine on my rooted Verizon LG V20. I had the files listed, where they were supposed to be. I also used ES File Explorer to change the permissions to 0644. By default, this file is read-write-execute for everyone. 0644 is much more limited permissions - no one can execute, and only the owner can write to it. See the ES File Explorer link above from CharlzO_2000 that shows you how to set the permissions with ES File Explorer.
I tested the hotspot for a few minutes...worked fine. No carrier nag and good connection to it from an iPad. Thanks, OP, and thanks, CharlzO_2000 for the 0644 links.
Stumped...
So last night I was able to root my v20 (verizon) and it was quite hairy especially when it was vibrating like crazy.... So got over that hump and now I'm stumped at these hotspot activation steps. Could you guys help a brotha out? So renamed the files just fine, but did not understand the section about permissions. None of my root browsers were about to change permissions to 0644, but not sure if its needed. So when I try to fire up the hotspot from the system settings it automatically shuts off and says "activity does not exist on this device". What am I missing?

I use solid explorer you'll want to go into properties to change permissions.
I didn't like that ES File Explored made me install some shopping app before I could get to the hidden system files. Pretty crappy on their part...
Everything works exactly as the OP explained. If you're having trouble with the permissions in ES File Explorer, long press on the new apk file to select it, pick "more" in the bottom right, then select properties. You'll see permissions listed there and you need to pick "change" and change the boxes so that you get "rw- r- r-" (Owner = RW, Group = R, Global = R). Back out, reboot, and you'll be golden.

ES has gone downhill over the past year or two. I still have an older version backed up to avoid their bloat. The send over lan feature doesn't work with nougat though.
If you are fed up with ES, give FX explorer a try. I've found it to be a decent replacement without all the bloat.
Could this method cause the data connection to fail sporadically? While using the hotspot, my phone network stops working. It still shows 4G and it being functional, but the hotspot, my apps, nothing that uses data works. It lasts for a minute or two and then it works again. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue...
Verizon LGV20 with 1.2 restock kernel and WETA.
If anyone would like to suggest a different kernel or ROM, I'm open.

Try reading the thread starting at the OP.
Hotspot crashing
Hello, I followed these steps and they worked to enable the wifi hotspot but Everytime I go to try to change the name and password the hotspot crashes.
Anyone have any idea if the hotspot name can be changed manually by editing the buidprop or something else?

In my experience Sprint devices don't typically get much love. I've considered building a rom for the G935P but I haven't touched that stuff since the LG G2 was a new phone, so I'm a wee bit behind on the curve. I'll check this out though.

Man I admire your work. With your help I have already created a method for Sprint SM-G935U QD2. I'm always willing to be a beta tester if you feel I'm worthy. I would like this thread but I reached my quota lol. I'm going to test this method out as well and post results.
I was on P rooted, wiped cache 3 times, factory wiped data, reboot to bootloader.
In AP i flashed U firmware [BP, AP, CL, CSC] and let it install and run setup. (If you think you're in a boot loop its probably not true because it takes 5-10 mins to reach any setup screen, so wait it out.)
LTE activated, restarted phone, and then i applied Gmail Account. Skip Samsung Account.
After reaching home screen I went to turn on developer options>OEM unlock>usb debugging. TURN OFF verify apps via usb and auto update system.
Turned off Software updates automatically, then clicked manual updates and registered device. Clicked again and let update search.
Auto-updated Security policy in Lock Screen & security. Make sure automatic isn't enabled.
Turn auto update in Google Play Store off.
Close All Recent Apps.
Power Off.
Power On into Download Mode.
Run ODIN Again and insert:
S7edge_Qualcomm.tar into AP. Start flash.
Once reaching home screen, immediately run Command prompt as administrator and redirect folder to:
Nougat_S7_UFitrm_Root_2_79
Type root.bat and then type enter. [Don't run root_with_tweaks.bat]
Device will reboot and don't press any key like it asks you until you reach home page, and device connects to PC by Auto-Run/Opening folder.
When Drive is listed in PC then press enter and SuperSU+Flashfire will install then do a long reboot. 5 mins.
Once at home screen, you will see it is Samsung as carrier. SMS/VOICE should work. MMS/DATA NO.
But we will fix it by going to:
Settings>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names
Delete Wholsales OTA apn by selecting, clicking top right menu, and delete.
Now the Global Roaming APN... select it.
Change the whole APN to:
Name:APN2 LTE Internet
APN:n.ispsn
MMSC:http://www.mms.sprintpcs.com
Multimedia message proxy
68.28.31.7
Multimedia message port:
80
MCC
310
MNC
000 // Do Not CHANGE!
APN type
default,supl,mms,dun,fota
APN Protocol
IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol
IPv4/IPv6
Bearer
LTE,
Top right menu>SAVE! Make sure APN2 LTE Internet is enabled and by the dot being blue. LTE should display icon and reset device to verify it stuck.
Flash LTE Icon FIx with FlashFire which is in App Drawer.
Nougat_S7_Edge_EngBoot.tar.md5 works as well.

I will change CSC code to XAS this should allow editing of APNs. I will reupload
The whole point of this rom is not to root the rom If the rom booted it means you have a custom rom running with stock boot.img which should not be possible. Its like the Verizon version if your not rooted you can still use samsung pay snapchat etc and any other safetynet checking apps

Of course, I started over because i was tweaking stuff and my SuperSu got disabled. I'm having a hard time repeating it but ill manage it. Its pissing me off because I've been trying different ways to gain sms/voice but my SuperSu broke and binary needed updating which caused any service to be canceled. This left me with no bars and the do not disturb icon for signal. Because some of the steps don't work like they do for Verizon, a lot of of your files needed to be switched around and flashed multiple times. I had to improvise. but once i secure this process... probably today, I'll type it up if you'd like, or head on to your next plan.
You have to be rooted, with a root explorer add this line to system/omc/"your csc folder"/cscfeature.xml :
<CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>RecordingAllowed</CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>
For example if you have an Italian csc you will have: system/omc/ITV/cscfeature.xml
Save and reboot.
Put root in the topic.

maybe, I don't know, tested only on my S8, bye.
Thank you! Working!
You might want to take/put note that not all S8 model has "omc" directory,
example, G950FD in some country using "system/csc/" directly instead, just like my country use "system/csc/XID"
but the rest of the steps or tricks is 99% similar,
files which needed to be modded are same files
I tried but stuck at "Custom binary locked by FAP Lock" when I reboot... I don't know what is my mistake

This definitely works but there is a small typo in the OP. The code to use is:
Code:
<CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>RecordingAllowed</CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>
Also remember to paste it inside the [FeatureSet] [/Featureset] brackets.

I have the exact same issue. I have also used this method successfully for years too. I can't figure out what's wrong.... The feature is enabled in the dialer and in settings...it appears the call is being recorded, but then when the call ends it says "failed to save recording. " Stock voice recorder is installed. I am in UK using EVR (EE) CSC which is stock with stock ROM and stock kernal.
I get this problem and can't figure it out either. There are screenshots added to show the error I get ... However I can see that when you empty the /sdcard/calls folder and start a new call recording, you get a temp .voicecall file appear (which is a hidden file) but then it fails to save when the call is ended.

Yes, that is exactly what I see too. I'll add that the Tasker actions to record calls also do not work and throw complaints about the source.

Remember to set folder authorization with root explorer to 755 and file xml to 644
In my hunt to enable download Booster I found the activity for this setting in Nova launcher widget activity under phone. Called "auto record calls". You can enable it to record all calls, calls from numbers not saved, or specific numbees. No root required to enable. Not sure if enabling this will help turn something on for you guys. Just wanted you to know, if you didn't already, that it is there.

Yes, that is exactly what I see too. I'll add that the Tasker actions to record calls also do not work and throw complaints about the source.

All of a sudden mine is saving the recordings properly?? I'm not sure how? But now it is.
I opened the voice recording app -> started a recording -> allowed permissions -> opened the csc folder in /system and made the permissions to my cscfeature.xml 644 and rebooted but not sure what caused it to start working but now it is!

Strange. Still no joy here. I have all three permissions granted for voice recorder and of course permissions are correct for the xml file... no idea what I'm missing.

Peace of cake man ..thanks a lot . Working great on my 955fd .
I am not a developer but a HW guy.
This applies only to i9505 international version with Qualcomm processor as tested.
Please note that whoever tries the following, upon failure and/or ending up with bricked phone(s), incurring any loss, implied or direct, resulting from the application of what is described in this post, including but not limited to time, warranty, update from Samsung including security updates, resources, financial or otherwise, etc., does not point a finger in my direction but, does so at his/her own risk.
(Hope I scared a few).
The unit that I used originally had XXUHPK2 - XST firmware.
Whatever given below are personally experienced after quite a bit of searching, testing and few near misses including SIM not being detected or infinite loops when searching for network to register due to my own experimentation with Modem and NON-HLOS files.
But I never once lost my IMEI as the method is fairly straightforward. Always God "ODIN" is there to the rescue.
This applies to those who do not want an "always on" Jio4GVoice app and prefer to stay with stock recovery. Of course custom recovery can always be installed.
I have used PI1_VOLTE_JIO FW available on this forum but had faced few issues related to calling out at times, more so when I travel long distance. If I stay put at certain places it always worked.
Now to the works:
1. Using ODIN install I9505XXUPOL1_I9505PHNPOL1_PHN FW. - Search to download FW.
Nordic version of FW with PI1 modem "may" be used but I found network search for registering yields less number of networks. I have not tried using the Nordic FW.
2. Root the device using CF-Auto-Root.
3. Search for "Volte fix.zip" and download. Easiest way to get links to download is YouTube. In the zip file I used all files have 07-11-2016 as creation date. I found VoLTEFiles zip too with the same dates but did not try it so far.
4. Watch the YouTube, say, at "watch?v=MlkaziK6AkY" or any other relevant VoLTE zip file installation video to get the gist of the method before attempting.
5. The zip contains an Apks folder and a Files folder. Extract APK, csc folder, CSCVersion.txt and SW_Confgiuration.xml to a known folder preferably in ext-sd if available.
6. Install root explorer. It is under extracted Apks folder. Allow for installation of app from unknown sources.
7. Open Root Explorer browse to /system directory. Rename existing csc folder, CscVersion.txt and SW_Configuration.xml with some leading characters as fall back. The csc folder and the files can optionally be deleted as well.
Root Explorer will require the patition to be mounted as RW saying it is Read Only. Say OK to proceed.
8. Copy and paste the above folder and files obtained from zip to /system.
9. Change permissions via Root Explorer as below:
Touch the folder or file under Root Explorer. Once selected touch 3 dots on top right and select permissions. Given numbers can be directly entered using Octal button.
csc folder - 755 octal
CscVersion.txt - 644 octal
SW_Configuration.xml - 644 octal
10. Exit Root Explorer and Reboot. And wait patiently for a while until the two way sign appears on status bar. It really takes a while.
Call Settings - "Outgoing voice call settings" automatically shows "Use VoLTE when available".
Factory reset does not restore VoLTE icon on status bar and calling is not possible as well. Wait for a while for the phone to complete all processes after setting up. Reboot to get VoLTE back.
It seems to take a while and the Sammy phone will show a report being sent when connected to WiFi... to inform you later when you select "Software Update" that the phone has modified in an un-authorized way, etc.
Calling and messaging works even with WiFi ON.
I have not provided any link as the credit should go where it belongs.
See screenshots in the attached thumbnails.
ODIN Version used 3.12.7
CF-Auto-Root available on this forum.
And most importantly thanks to the developer who created the VoLTE fix files. And a special thanks to @dhiru1602 with his PI1-VOLTE-JIO ROM as it was instrumental in making me search and test.
Does this work on other S4 not for JIO and on other networks?

Sorry for the belated reply. I was using it on Jio only as no other nw providers were offering VoLTE at that time. Now the unit is with someone else in another country. I learnt VoLTE is available in that country and will request to get it checked. Will revert with results.
hey, no problem and thanks for the help! Have you heard back from your friend yet?

Yes and a No - On one network it does not show the icon. He is not sure if the ISP actually implemented VoLTE though announced last year. On the other he has not tested as yet. Says needs to get the 4G SIM. Will wait for some more time and revert again.
Ok. I know for sure that my network and my SIM support VoLTE, cause I am using it on another Samsung handset and it's working fine. But on the S4 no luck yet.
Btw. I just put a Malaysian SIM and this enabled VoWiFi in the settings. But couldn't try it as the card is not fully active anymore.
