Hi guys!
I've got a problem since yesterday, my Nexus 5 loses connection to Wifi every other minute and as of now, I'm completely unable to activate it over the menu.
I had Dirty Unicorns v11 installed, I thought the Bootloader/Radio was outdated and updated it with images from the last 2016 factory image. This didn't change a thing, so I updated to the newest Unicorn (with factory reset) and then to the newest Lineage nightly with the same result.
After opening my Nexus everything in it seems fine, I replugged the antennas just in case..
As of now, I really don't know what to do anymore. Any suggestions?
I experienced somethig similar with my second Nexus 5. From then to now the WIFI coould not be toggled on again. It just died. Seems like a common problem is hardware related as i understood.
If you are in warranty just hand it in.
I don't think there's any warranty left after 3 1/2 years
I also think it's hardware related because I can't even read the MAC of the chip. Maybe some reflow soldering would do the trick, but I think this means new smartphone for me -_-

Hi, i did not find any related to my problem, that's why i am opening this thread.
I did a brick on my tf700 at last September and the cheapest solution it was to buy a new board on ebay.
i did the replacement that it was easier than i supposed and it started to work like new, like the first time the system ever boot.
After some days i did again unlock and install cromix and during several weeks it was perfect until yesterday when I detected that it was not good WiFi.
It is like half of intensity compared with htc one. Just works up to 8m from router.
I open it again to verify contacts, board. Everything is normal.
Do anyone know about antenna problem on tf700 (on my last prime it was a lot)? or hardware problem that in a moment reduced the intensity, if it was no WiFi at all i understood as a hardware problem, but half is strange.
Another thing is sound. When i started tf700 no sound, just on phones. After some hours (from night to morning) tablet working, sound appear.... i don't understand.
I tried different firmwares, now i am on cmb 4.3, and it is the same.
Any help?

If you use a different rom and you still have the same problems, then you may have a defect motherboard..
You can try to install a stock rom to verify the issues that you have. If you still have the problems, then you can confirm that you have a bad board.. Good luck..:fingers-crossed:

I already ordered another board from other guy.
My doubt is if the problem is at the ROM level, or kernel level.
Is not possible to take a log to see what Android reports at startup for sound and WiFi?

Did you do a clean installation of your rom? If you flashed different kernels, you may have messed up the wifi modules.
Or it is another bug that has been discussed lately in the CROMi-X forum. If you turn wifi off and then on again: Does that change anything?
Some people had bad download speed when waking from sleep, whereas it was fine on a fresh boot or after toggling WiFi on/off.
If that is your problem, try turning off WiFi Optimization in the WiFi settings.
I literally bought this less than 2hrs ago and the first thing that happened was no wifi showing or it working for that matter. Did a factory reset but to no avail. BT/tethering works at least so I could download some stuff. But other than that no other issues whatsoever. No updates avail either...
Now, whenever I press wifi it hangs and settings goes black and hangs. Kinda hard to log when it's not even working.. I've thought about rooting and going CM but hey, might as well just return it for a new one tomorrow.
Either my file system is corrupt, i.e file/driver corruption or the wifi chip is borked, though BT works which leaves me pondering.
PS: the stylus is awesome!
"PS: the stylus is awesome!"
The "new" model k1 cames without stylus.
You don't say?! And the moon really is made of cheese? Doesn't leave the fact that I bought the stylus separetly or not but I guess that doesn't exist in your world where sheep roam.
before you root it try doing a hard reset and see if wifi works. Could be a corrupt file it happens. I always hard reset a new device force of habit from my Windows Mobile days.

Just return it. No reason not to have one that works out of the box. It likely isn't something that would be easy to deal with.
I got my K1 back today all working. According to the guy on webhallen (where I bought it) it had a corrupt FW and needed to be reflashed, so I'm glad the RMA was solved in less than 48h!
Now I just wish I had these files as well since I hear K1 differs a bit compared to 1st gen.
Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Only difference seems to be the stylus. Doesn't have the spot to hold it or sensor to tell if it was removed. Other than that it looks like it's just cosmetic differences.
Dear all,
A few days ago, my N5's camera stopped working and none of the usual solutions (reboot, clean data and cache of camera app, even complete wipe and change of ROM) did anything to fix the problem. So I went on ebay, and bought a replacement back camera, fitted it and all was well...for a day!!! It looks like after just one day (and nearly no use at all) the new camera has already stopped working. Is anyone aware of what may be causing it, and of a way to fix it? or is it time for a new phone?
Thanks for your help!!
Is it possible the camera connction on the motherboard is a bit flaky?

Thanks for your reply. I thought that too after the second camera went wrong. I re-opened the phone and checked the connection, and from what I can see it seems quite solid. I am not sure what could possibly be going wrong that causing 2 camera modules to go bad in quick succession though. While the rest of the phone works perfectly.
Maybe it's just coincidence. I guess you could try a third camera to see what happens.
Can't connect to camera
My camera quit working the day I updated to 6.0.1
At first it would work for a few hours after a fresh boot. Now it won't work at all. I replaced the camera module with a working one and it worked for a few hours then died. Now all I get is "can't connect to camera". I'm convinced its related to the marshmallow update.
Safe mode doesn't help. Factory reset doesn't help. Third party apps still let me use the front camera but the rear is dead. I think I've reached the end of the road buying nexus devices and beta testing OS releases.
Maybe it because of your sd card

Initially I thought this may be a normal issue of age of the phone, but the fact that a few of us are bumping into this so shortly after the marshmallow upgrade makes me think maybe the 2 things are related.
I suppose I could try and install a lollipop rom and buy yet another camera module.
The only component that should face problems in a persons lifetime would be the battery. It is a shame that companies and people treat this stuff as disposable.
OP and others who cannot fix this through software, or a small hardware change, this must be a hardware issue. Something on the mainboard is messing with the camera. Others are running stock marshmallow fine, to rule out any software issues, wipe all and flash new (manually wiping and flashing each partition from fastboot would be best). Report back.

Thanks for your reply. Done, but to no avail. Infact when you flash from fastboot the camera app is not even installed and the torch does not show up in the notification bar.
It is definitely a hardware issue, which is not resolved by simply replacing the camera module, as that seems to break again in a short amount of time. Not sure if I feel investing in a new mainboard and a new camera module.
Hi, I bought a used Verizon Note Pro 12.2 SM-P905V and when I got it, noticed that the wifi is very flaky. Initially, it connected to my router fine but took 9 hours to load 120 apps when I signed in to Play using my normal Google account. So I did a factory reset, and then it wouldn't see my router at all. Restart router, factory reset device, no dice.
In the notification shade, wifi icon is always green as if it's on, but when I go into settings, the toggle is off. When I slide it to on, it turns gray and after a minute or so goes back to off. Multiple hard resets, still the same issue. Occasionally, it will "see" the routers, but this only lasts for a few seconds and then they are gone.
So I decided to flash the firmware. I did not complete another factory restore before I embarked on this, but had only just gone through the initial language screens and signed in on the tablet with a brand new Gmail account that had nothing on it. So I downloaded official 5.1.1 ROM from Sammobile, installed device drivers, installed Odin, (followed some great instructions found on XDA, thanks), got the tablet into download mode, connected to laptop and Odin on my laptop showed connection was live and it began to do it's thing. So I left it alone for 30 minutes and when I came back, Odin read "all done!" (or something similar) highlighted in green , and the tablet had restarted, so I assumed all is good.
However, I expected that the flash process would have wiped the setup I had begun on the tablet, but it did not. And the wifi issue still exists. Looks to me like nothing has changed. So two questions for you:
1) Does this mean that the flash did not happen correctly?
2) Do you have any suggestions on how I can fix this wifi issue? (LTE works fine but I don't want to eat up all that expensive data.)
Thanks for any help!
Wifi circuit has many components on mainboard and I believe it's beyond abilities of most users even professionals as you cannot find components and schematic to fix them.
Your best source is looking for this tablet with a broken LCD like this one:

If you don't have the need to LTE connection, Note Pro wifi mainboard SM-P900 also fit but you need rear camera for SM-P900 as rear camera of LTE won't work in Wif mainboard.
Any LTE Note Pro 12.2 like P907T( Tmobile) P907A ( AT&T ) mainboard will fit to P905V as they are exactly the same mainboard, except firmware, bootloader and software loaded into it.
I swapped a SM-P907A mainboard to a SM-P905V tablet, it works as an AT&T tablet because the software is for AT&T.
I purchased a verizon note pro 12.2 SM-P905V refurbished from groupon last October. For the last few months the wifi on the tablet has been very flaky. I have a number of devices and only this one frequently drops connection. I never upgraded from kitkat I and was hoping that this issue was software related. Seeing that moransw is experiencing the same problem with this same model but is trying to get back to sock kitkat gives me concern that a software update will not resolve the problem. The other problem I've been having lately is that the device no longer recognizes the stock charger, and will now only charge painfully slow. I've tried a different charge cable from a samsung s6 to no avail. Is the SM-P905V a lemon?
You should use this one to test your charger and usb cable
http://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=u....Xusb+voltage+current&sqp=usb+voltage+current
If you're using correct cable and charger, current should be 1.7 A and voltage should be 5.3 V
Test with known working cable and charger, if nothing is different you should consider to buy new usb flex charging port, around $10.
These basic steps you should do first as nobody can give exactly an answer with many unknowns. It happens to many used tablets, not just this model.
These basic troubleshootings are easy done for simple problem of bad cable, charger or USB port
Try them first then post your results if you need more help for further steps

1) I am using stock kitkat rooted and I was experiencing the same issue
2) I found this thread regarding our tablet that seems to suggest a bug with wifi if you are using a Bluetooth device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-pro-12/help/wifi-disconnects-bluetooth-device-t2851406
I was streaming audio through bluetooth to my home surround system, I disabled the bluetooth radio and I haven't had an issue with wifi since. I now use chromcast to stream audio through my surround sound.
After i replaced the amoled display everything seemed to be normal. But then after some month i had to unscrew my phone to replace the battery and install new camera replacement. And when i was sealing phone i missed a bit my screw and kinda broke the signal cable (long one, it was flattened a bit).
And then after that i promptly noticed that my wifi range plummeted tremendously. Seriously, router was not seen at all just 10m off it! (still worked thought)
And not long after that(maybe it was since the wifi issue arose, maybe it was a bit later) i also noticed that GPS connection is missing too. I checked all the apps to make sure, gps test showed absolutely nothing.
I checked my antennae inside the phone and it looks like ok. I even flashed my phone to miroom 20.3.26 but still issue is there.
I'm running out of suspects by this moment and i really need your help.
I'm starting to realise that it may be a complex mobo repair

I would start with reflashing original stock ROM with MiFlash tool. If the issue persists on stock ROM with locked bootloader, then you should go for repair
