Hi everyone. I just got my hands on a Chinese Honor 6x, EMIU v4.1 (not yet upgraded) build number BLN-AL10C00B172.
I need to be able to use Google apps, more specifically Play Store to use the device as a regular android here in France. I also want the best stability possible, so I guess the official ROM is the only one I want to use (upgraded version).
My question is: what is the best way to proceed?
Can I just flash the Google apps on the device? or should I flash a new ROM entirely? If so do you have any recommendation on which ROM to use (considering LTE bands and overall compatibility), and maybe a complete tutorial for boot loader unlocking and flashing?
Thanks for your help
Download Open Gapps. Choose Nano or Pico. And flash.
You can also install Aptoide as a 2nd software center.

My friend got this from China and you can't install any Google apps on it and you can't even add a Google account. It's completely locked down.
Anyone know how to install custom recovery and ROM on this thing? I can't seem to even find a way to root it.
Thanks for any help.
You can install the Hong Kong Firmware and then you can use all the Google Apps. Root is avaiable, only found on chinese boards. The problem is, that you must pay for it via Alipay. At the moment no chance without an chinese bank account.

Thanks I'll look into it.
OH??! Can you just install a different version on the phone? I was looking into installing a better custom ROM onto a Hongkong version (the long code C7000ZHU2AQF2) and was downloading the firmware for C7000ZHU2AQF2 (just in case I need to go back to the original version), and was wondering if you could, say, install C7000ZHS2AQC2 or C7000ZHU1APG3 instead. Is this possible? Did you mean this? Or did I get this wrong?
Hi,
I always try to clean flash a stock or newer version rom as soon as I buy a phone, this seems to be a silver bullet for a myriad of problems(heating, ghost touches, glitches etc etc)
With Xiomi, I was able to do this very easily (it requires some extra work of installing twrp ofcourse, and unlocking BL if needed).
The best thing about it is Xiomi offers both fastboot and recovery roms for all their devices, including older versions too, ready to download in their official website(or via phone updater).
With Motorola, I couldn't find any such websites, after some googling around, I came to suspect that they might not even have any intentions of providing roms to be downloadable in their websites. Is this true?(wonder, why would someone do something like that)
My Questions:
1. Can you download the OTA update with the updater app? (just like the xiomi phones)
If so, how to do a clean flash with it? (I doubt whether we can use twrp/cwm for flashing)
2. If #1 is not possible, how do I get a stable&official recovery/fastboot rom for Moto G4 plus?
3. Was there any stable official CM rom released for Moto G4+?
All I want is a stable&official recovery/fastboot rom so that I can clean flash my Moto G4+ with it.
Thanks in advance..
Note:
You might come across an official motorola website which provides recovery images, but those are only for developer edition devices
anyone?
Hi all,

Hi,
Are you sure that you need to install google apps again on a Google Android smart phone? or china version has a deep-modified knockoff Android?
If so, I think you may wait for S-OFF patiently, then write a different CID and flash with ROMs from normal world.

You must not know much about chinese devices lol, it is common that they come without google services if on chinese firmware.
No google services = no playstore or apps and other missing items.

Hi. I recently unlocked and debranded my Honor 6x BLN-21 (European) to BLN-22 (Indian) in order to upgrade to emui 8. I'll just get to the point: I tried flashing OpenKirin's OmniRom and lineage os. Everything worked, and I mean EVERYTHING, except mobile data. I can turn it on and off but it's like it's only working on the UI side: it shows LTE under it but when I try to open the playstore or a chrome tab it's just not there.
Other details are:
- the sim is recognized, i can send messages and call.
- i can connect to wifi
- i tried manually searching for networks since it showed IWIND instead of FASTWEB, but i couldn't find it. I could only find IWIND, Vodafone, 3 and a few others... Even though in the top navbar it correctly says FASTWEB, which is my courier... So there's that.
- I'm from Italy
- I tried lineage os 17.1 (the one from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/development/rom-10-lineageos-17-1-honor-6x-t4064803 ) and everything worked, but since i want to install nethunter , it was incompatible so i had issues with ADB. (Note that i did NOT install nethuner on Openkirin's version of the os in order to test it)
Please does anybody know how to fix this? Is there a patch or something I missed?
Thanks.
Nobody?

Yes, it's true, especially if you are an European.
Our model (bln-l21) does not have the update to emui 8.0 unlike chinese or india.
If you want to install a custom rom on it, you need to have emui 8.0.
To do it, you must debrand it to india or chinese.
If you do it, you can no longer receive certain frequencies 3g / 4g (not the same bands in theses countries).
Never again huawei for me...
Hello. Yesterday i installed latest OTA Android version (TB-J606L_S320030_210923_ROW) and noticed that it is really slow and it has even more bloatware that i don't want. I don't need to root it (because of bloatware removal) as i also need to revert it to default state as it was before update.
1. It is possible to find which version i had before this upgrade?
2. How could i downgrade system to previous version (i think it was Android 10 but i'm not sure)
PS: I successfully downgraded/rooted some devices but as every brand has it's specific way to perform downgrade, i'm asking here. Any advice would help and i'm aware of dangers of downgrading/rooting devices (bricking). In any case, it would be awesome to also link unbricking guide for TB-J606L, just in case It's always better to have plan B.
Update: I found source of roms for my device but i can't recognize which versions are old Android 10 and which are the new Android 11.
