What gear vr? - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Hey, I have bought a samsung galaxy s8+ (SM-G955F) in the netherlands.
I want to get a Gear VR for it, but im not sure which one i should get because i don't know if it will fit inside
Does anyone know?
Yoran

Hi,
I bought the 2016 gear vr sm-r323 model.
On the box it's for the s7, s7 edge, s6 etc.....
I paid £45 from amazon which is very cheap.
I have the s8+ and it fits in the gap fine, there is however a slight rise on the top end of the phone which falls into the adjustable end by only 1mm.
Using the vr I haven't noticed any issues no light gaps etc...
I'm currently waiting for my motion controller to arrive from mobilefun which was £50.
I do have pics but can't post any yet.
Looking around there is the vr bundle which has the sm-r324 version of the gear vr but this might be a newer wider version so there isn't that 1mm rise or just the same n different model no as its the bundle version.
I'm trying to find a comparison between the 2 using the s8+.
Thanks

Galaxy S6 Test Unit

Hey guys. Does anyone know if the internal make up of a Samsung Galaxy S6 test unit is any use. I'm not bothered about having any phone but I was wondering if test units can be used with Gear VR without any problems ?? It seems a cheaper alternative to buying a handset just for Gear VR if I don't have to.
Thanks in advance.

Is This A Good Price?

Hey guys just ordered myself a Gear S2 Classic from best buy and was wondering if this was a good deal or not. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung...ther/4633300.p?id=1219783546050&skuId=4633300 It's certified refurbished but was about half off. Been using my Moto 360 1st Gen and Pebble Time Steel for a little while now and was going to get another android wear watch but figured maybe I should try something different and it goes along with my S7 edge.
EDIT: Looks like the price changed. Was around $175 when I bought it.
good price it is
Looks good to me but may just be a GeekSquad refurbished. Should have the same warranty.

It is very good price, just make sure that they have the reactivation lock removed, else you will have a huge headache like those:

Just got it today and all is working fine. Watch looks perfect and my glass screen protector came in today too. Came with the charger and different size strap. Now time to test drive this thing. So far seems nice and a good change from my other 2 watches. Just noticed the price went up from $175 too.
I found one on bestbuy.com for $130. I was hoping I got one with the purchase of the S7 edge from Verizon. I am waiting for it to come on Tuesday from California. I'll be very happy if it is not locked to another Samsung account. If not it will go back.
Bought today a refurbished S2 wifi from Ebay Best Buy store selling them for $140. Should have it Friday.

[Q] Which Gear S3 did you choose? Gear S3 Classic or S3 Frontier? And why?

Just curious to see how many people got the Classic or the Frontier model.
I, myself, started off wanting the Frontier model then had a change of heart and got the Classic in the end. I chose it because I like the design and color better than the darker Frontier. Also, based on my past experience with the dark grey Gear S2 BT and silver Gear S2 3G, I find it easier to find matching watch straps for the silver than the dark grey.
Let's hear your thoughts!
Frontier. Appearance. Lots of watch bands available on Amazon, including dark colors. Bought a nice black one.

I originally was interested in the Classic, but ended up going with the Frontier.
I ordered Frontier but Amazon send me a classic version. I returned the classic and waiting for Frontier. I like the look and design of the Frontier more than the classic. I don't know about scratches on dark gray versus silver. Silver will be a bit in safe side.
I have the Frontier without LTE. I can still call with it. I have my handy always with me. The design from Frontier is perfect.

What was the reason that you ended with Frontier? Any scratches etc until now?

Best Buy had the Frontier in stock, but didn't have the Classic. Originally, I wanted to see both in person before making my purchase, but after seeing the Frontier I went ahead and purchased it. No scratches yet (knock on wood).
I purchased Frontier because of looks, also got the LTE version (with no contract) but after using it for a while I am on the fence about cancelling my LTE service for it.

I hear you on that, after an hour of being on LTE my battery dropped by about 10% as opposed to maybe 2% via Bluetooth. I'll play it out a little longer and see what happens, I haven't had this watch for too long and where I was using mobile data was in a place that it probably struggles to stay connected.

I had the Gear S with a data plan. After about a year of only using it to show people how it worked, I cancelled it. Never missed it. I'm not the runner type or anything like that where I'd need to leave my phone at home.
Both models look great, what led me to the Frontier was the LTE. I run so not having to carry a phone and still receive call/text plus play downloaded music via BT has been great. I tend to leave my phone sitting on my work desk quite often and it is nice to still get notifications while I am in a meeting.
Classic is extremely boring. Only Frontier.

IMO, the Frontier looks too much like a typical & regular sport watch. So does the Classic. So in the end, it was the color for me.

Went with the Frontier LTE version to not pay it all off right away. Watch has been excellent so far. This is my first gear.
I choose the frontier. It 's great !!
Bought both like both I collect watches main watch is omega planet ocean chronograph also backing cronovo watch on kickstarter ,think frontier and classic are both equal in quality
its just down to personal taste
got the frontier mainly as the mrs bought it for xmas ,also its better looking in my eyes , did go into the shop looking for a cheap gear s2 but that changed when i got the s3
I wanted the frontier but it wasn't available when my wife ordered it for me. Went with the classic then a mate of mine got the frontier after we compared I was glad I went classic and he was glad he went frontier. The overall look of the classic for me matched other watches I've had in the past.
Wanted to see both in person... But best buy only had the frontier. Honestly prefer the dark look of the frontier, but wish it had the lugs sticking out more like the classic. I really wanted the LTE model, but with no Verizon support it just isn't even an option.

Hoping for quick answer...

Im sorry if this has already been asked but I am trying to order this asap being that the one I was looking at was available and while trying to make up my mind is now sold out.
The frontier wifi only edition is sold out on BestBuy.... The at&t model is available for 249 with a contract and 349 retail. (349 same price as if you bought the WiFi only edition). If I buy the 349 att version for the retail price, is there going to be any difference then buying the wifi version aside from the obvious addition of hardware? Meaning if I use it without purchasing the service, will it essentially be the same thing? Also, where it is showing different sizes, 42 - 46 mm, is that the actual size of the watch or the strap?
side question, anyone know of any possibility of android wear port in the future or in the works? I have the gear 2 and when android wear was ported to that watch for me it was the factor that breathed new life into it and made me take it off the shelf and wipe the dust off.... I have not ever been completely sold on tizen but the s3 is the best option right now from what I can see

Yes, the watch actually disconnects (by default) from LTE when it is connected via Bluetooth. The size reference is to the watch itself not the strap. The straps are all 22mm.

Question What's the best charging dock for S22 ultra and GW4 Classic?

As the title states:
What's the best charging dock for S22 ultra and GW4 Classic?
I have a SURITCH Ultra Clear Case Full Body case on my S22 and I have a stainless watchband on my GW4.
I'd like my phone to be able to stand up vs lie down so I can read the face of it in the middle of the night if I need to.
Preferably, if I could get one that is travel compatible. I've seen ones that fold up. (I do a lot of traveling.) That would be awesome.
Thanks in advance everyone. I've grown to really value all of your input.
I use this. It holds my phone, watch, and ear buds.. It has been great so far.
