I wouldn't. Even though it's the same device basically it will cause issues. Only flash specifically for a universal d2 or d2vzw

Can you flash any custom ROM ?

Hello
I was wondering if I could flash galaxy S 3 international version with any carrier specific custom rom like Verizon /at&t etc and vice versa. I see there are many ROMs which aren't available for international variant but for some carrier.
I know there must be some carrier differences and little other small security patches, but does that mean I can use any ROM or I would face problems like glitches/soft brick etc?
I know in Sony, HTC it is not a problem but how about Samsung ?

I wouldn't even attempt to flash a rom that's meant for a Verizon phone for an international S3. The phones are similar yes but they are different in so many ways. You could hard brick your phone if you attempt to flash a rom that's not meant for your phone

There are a few good threads on XDA for porting roms. Porting between Verizon and international shouldn't take to long. As long as you stay in the s3 family most of the porting is copy past stuff.

Anyone tried a T-MO ROM on the AT&T G2?

I'm currently using an unlocked AT&T G2 on the T-Mobile network, but all these AT&T specific features and apps are really bugging the crap out of me. Has anyone tried installing a T-Mobile version of the stock firmware on this Model? Really didn't want to just jump in and mess up my phone without asking first.

1) No! Use ROMs from the AT&T G2 subforum with your AT&T phone, regardless of your SIM card's carrier. The top CM12 port in the AT&T G2 subforum is actually a port of the T-Mobile (D801) ROM, so you won't be losing any features.
2) Yes! "Unlocks" have nothing to do with the software on your phone, unlocking is persistent by IMEI number which doesn't change when you flash a new ROM. Just set the new APN after you install CyanogenMod and your device will work fine on T-Mobile.
Also a personal note about G2 modding: make sure that you have the means to download the 2 gigabyte recovery tool BEFORE you flash CM; otherwise you might get stuck on a buggy build of CM until you find a way to download a file that large.

Is this the stable CM12 for G2 that you are referring to?

This is the build I used. Used it for about a week, only complaint is that I had about 2 launcher crashes that forced me to reboot. Definitely a very stable build. Only reason I went back to stock was for Xposed support.

D850 sim locked to AT&T - questions about sim unlocking and flashing T-Mo ROM

I recently received an AT&T G3 from a friend and would like to use it on T-Mobile, with T-Mobile's wi-fi calling enabled since I get terrible signal inside my home. The phone is currently sim locked to AT&T. I do have it rooted but that's as far as I've gone.
I have two questions:
1) what is the best way to sim unlock? does anyone recommend a service? I'd like to get this done quickly so that I can begin messing with it on T-Mobile.
2) will I be able to install a stock T-Mo ROM on the device to access T-Mo specific features/apps, and how would I go about doing that? I am familiar with flashing ZIPs and reverting back to stock, but I've never gone cross-carrier before. Does it even matter?

If the phone was fully paid off you can unlock it for free on att website.
No you cannot. You'll run into big issues and or soft brick you can only flash what your model is. You may flash a custom D851 based custom rom if that's available if someone's built it for the D850 but you cannot flash other models stock roms.

Thank you hyelton. Have you heard of any D851 based ROMs with wifi calling enabled that will work on the D850?

Can you install the Tmo software on an AT&T variant?

Hi All,
Is there any way to essentially put Tmo version of the software on the AT&T LG G5?
I gave my AT&T G5 to a friend, with the unlock code, and they've been fine on Tmo, but I've noticed they are not getting the AT&T updates (Sept 30). In additional I see the Tmo Updates are further ahead than AT&T anyways.
Since they are on Tmo, is there anyway to flash the stock Tmo software on?
Thanks in advance!
I hear its possible but you would run into so many problems such as bootloops and bricks. Its best advised you dont flash t mobile firmware on it. I remember when I had an LG G2 from verizon someone made a stock custom rom the the t mobile variant. That would be your best option, to make a custom rom from the t mobile g5 and flash it to the at&t variant. But since it will be a custom rom, you will get notifications saying you have an ota but they never work
