Hey Everyone,
I just noticed that I am missing the stock calculator app that usually comes with the galaxy phones.
No idea what happened, but I do not use it that much, but now that I needed it, I was unable to find it.
Not sure if I disabled something in Package Disabler, but I couldnt find anything in there that would make me think its related to the stock calculator.
Any help would be appreciated.

It's funny, but I thought the same thing.. then the next time I looked, it was in the app drawer. Not sure what happened.
Starting with nougat on my s7 Edge I would occasionally Not be able to find an app in the app drawer. Searching Sometimes found it, sometimes not. Sometimes I'd have to go to play store, find the app thinking it must have been uninstalled, but if then see the open button and it would open. After that it would be back. I've seen this on the s8+ once.

Yes but this is a stock app, so no uninstalling it. So freakin weird....how do i get it back?

It's so weird. Same thing happened to me. It was there last week when I needed it. I needed it yesterday and couldn't find it anywhere. Not in the app drawer and a search didn't return anything.
I had to search for "Samsung Calculator" on Google Play to reinstall it. I know for sure I have never uninstalled it.
Bruhh.. same with me
Here i am. I bougt SAMSUNG S8 3 days ago, and then i realized that there was no basic apps inside. Like.. voice recorder, calculator, note, music player. How annoying!
Is there anyone like me? or is this because of my mistake?

I recently migrated to Nexus devices. I have a Nexus 5. Recently, while I am working with my phone, the play store suddenly opens to a random (usually Korean) app. I say Korean because the dev's website ends with'.kr' and the language looks like one of the East Asian languages (I am sorry but I cannot differentiate them very well).
I notice this usually happens when I am back to my home screen.
I suspected Ads and I have downloaded Ad Away and made sure I am running the most recent updates. I even installed Ad Network Detector by Lookout and even uninstalled some apps I suspected. But it still pops up.
This issue happens also on my Nexus 7 2013 (running rooted stock 4.4 and stock kernel - Dalvik runtime). Now there is an overlap of apps but they are not exactly the same.
Please note that I am running rooted stock 4.4 with custom kernel on my Nexus 5 (ART runtime). I have not updated play store manually. Everything is as is from Google. And the play store version is 4.4.22.
One last thing, yesterday, I noticed the same type of "ads" on my wife's galaxy s2 running Jelly Bam v10. There is very little overlap in terms of apps.
This is a very annoying form of ads. Anyone experienced this? And if so, any workarounds? I am trying to avoid a factory reset if possible.

I'm glad that I found this as the same thing has been happening on my N5.
Cataclysm, Faux and 'next' browser. Although I think it still happened in chrome. It seems to happen when I'm using a browser, the play store launches by itself to some random app.
I'd hate to think this is Google doing this to sell more crap....
it sounds like you both have a spam app installed...try Addons Detector in play store, or uninstall anything that is not absolutely reputable, and read reviews about apps

It seems to have stopped since uninstalling the latest version of 'next' browser (beta 1.3).
I noticed that the issue would almost always arise when browsing, and since going back to my previous browser if choice (Boat) it hasn't happened since.
A real shame if it's indeed the browser, it had great promise and I was going to use it as my daily... But not if they are injecting crap like this into it.
Neither lookout adwatch nor airpush detectors picked it up, so it must be stealth.
I've emailed the devs asking if they have something like this in their browser, although I'm pretty convinced since it hasn't happened once since removing it.
Update:
It's not the browser, nor the one or two games I installed.
Tried several different ad and air push detector apps but can't find the culprit.
This is truly annoying, especially as I have very few apps installed beyond the stock Google ones.
Any help appreciated.
I recently rooted my Nexus 5 and installed PACROM. After that, I downloaded some apps and they appeared on my desktop for a couple of minutes and then I just could not find the shortcut nor the app itself in the app drawer. I tried a different launcher and still nothing. But when I went to check if maybe it was uninstalled it whowed me that not, I can still open the app from the Play Store.
Why is it happening? Any way to fix that?

I would like to get your opinion about the problem that I am experiencing at the moment. And I am sure there is an easy solution that I can not figure by my own.
I have Sprint Galaxy s6 Edge Plus paired with Gear S watch. And I was so excited when I search is there any GoPro App that I can use with my watch instead of buying the GoPro Remote Controller. And yeah someone already did and looks really cool! So there is an Lite Version and Paid version. So I start installing both at the same time. And my watch start acting weird. I am not sure is it because the installation or something was wrong and I did not notice. But screen is blacking out and some of the apps were missing the icons on the main menu.
So I had to restart the watch couple of times and I did not solve the problem. And then I hard reset the watch (Factory Reset).
But the Galaxy Store still showing the GoPro App for Gear S installing! So I reset my phone as well! ANd then went back to Galaxy App Store. The both App (GoPro Lite and Paid version) shows INSTALLED!
So there is no app anywhere. Anyway I click the app on Galaxy App Store. It says "Move To Gear S" and I do click that. It just brings me to main page of Gear Manager! Nothing else.
So luckly I have the same setup with my wife. So I installed the app successfully on her phone and everything looks good on her end. App is also on her watch too!
I emailed to the App Owner to send me the installation file so I can install manually and get rid of the issue (I guess). I did not hear from him yet!
So I download some apps to see the root files since mine is not rooted! But I can not see any GoPro Gear S related app on the app/app menu or since I am not rooted I see empty on mnt/asec !
If I back up my information with using the Smart Switch I am assuming it will back up all the info that is stored on the phone so I am worrying that Galaxy App store will see the same like installed after the hard reset and restore process which I do not want to waste my time with!
But I still think that there must be a location that Galaxy App Store reading this info and assuming that the app is installed (partially installed and the file that makes the store to recognize as installed is in the file) so if I delete this files I can successfully re install the app and make it easy solution!
I will appreciate for any help!

I got a frontier update yesterday, said it enabled here we go access, browser from the watch access, etc, all that stuff. once the app as done, I wen't to download here we go, and it's not in the app store, anywhere, samsung says it works in the USA on the here website, but I can't find it -anywhere-, anyone have any idea what's going on with that? that's the only reason I planned on keeping the damn thing, without proper nav, it's basically useless.
I just found it. I searched for "here".
I did not find it when I searched for "map" unless I did not scroll down the list sufficiently.
Well, it took quite a while to download it. BUT it only seems to show WALKING routes and I do not see any way to change settings other than Units from metric to imperial. No mode setting??
I've search the gear apps section for "here" and nothing pops up.

It shows up under the phone section, but not the gear section.
I reached out to " HERE " on twitter, and they basically showed me some screen shots and said it's there. However.. it's still not, so they are mistaken. Something seems to be going on with it, but with little to no information, it's frustrating.
In the Gear App and looking for apps I searched for "here" and it showed up.
By the way when I used it again, I was able to chose a mode of travel and was not limited to walking. I'm in the US if that affects where it is available.

I recently purchased a Galaxy S8+ (SM-G955U1) and I'm having some problems with it.
The Samsung native apps like Messages, Phone, Contacts, etc don't get updated, but in their "about" section which shows the version, says this app is up to date. I even tried going to Galaxy Apps and tried updating from there, but there is no update available. My phone itself is apparently up to date as well, but I'm not sure.
This is the software version installed:

I went to apk websites and saw that almost all the samsung native apps on my phone are at least a couple versions out of date, and it's really bothering and annoying. To a point that my samsung messages app, doesn't even have "delivery report" option for sms. It's just not there...
2 of my family members have also Galaxy S8 pluses, and their phones function well, and everything is up to date!
So, how can I fix this problem on my phone without modding it or anything because I want my phone to remain mod free!
I will appreciate your help VERY VERY much!

What website you are using I'd like to see if my apps are updated.
load new versions from apkmirror.com, then for being able to install them without getting the "package exists" error you have to change the secure startup (off if on and vice versa), then you are able to update these system apps!

Still having issues after toggling the secure startup feature. Anyone have any other idea? Right now I still get the "package exists" error. I even try going up only one version at a time.
Same problem have updates 4 my apps but @ galaxy app store I have no updates... lol wtf?

I figured it out. I was being too impatient before. Go to apkmirror or similar sites and download the apks to the phone. Once downloaded, you need to toggle secure startup (if it is on the turn it off, but if off then you will need to turn it on). After you do that, immediately restart your phone. Once booted, head directly to the download folder and install all of the apks. Do not launch any of the apps to verify until you finish loading all of the apks or you will have to repeat the process. Once you are done, you can launch which ever app to verify. I had an issue with the apps crashing at first so I rebooted and all issues went away for now at least.
Good luck. You can also set apkmirror to notify you when a new version comes out if you so choose to go that route.
