Hi everyone, I was searching through xda, however didn't find any proper thread which states how to change status bar icons. Please help me with some good information over this. I want to change icons to look like miui and/or ios. Substratum will be cool if there is any way through that on any custom flasable zip.
Use Substratum Legacy and Statusbars Beta. Only a few icon sets, but more than nothing and it works.

Thanks man.:good:
Installed it, got working, however it is not displaying in overlays and anywhere. Whenever I want to change icons I need to reinstall it. Then there is notification via which i can navigate to it and change icons. Is there is any easy way to do it without reinstalling every time?

Compound and Outline modules also have some nice new statusbar icons. Paid themes though.
You can try this new theme for substrasum it contains only statusbars a lot of them it is paid
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pierx.baterai
I didn't personally tried it bcz I'm not rooted
Do any of them change the WiFi indicator icon? I have tried several themes for OOS but none of them were able to change the Battery icon or the WiFi icon. It changed the rest, just not those.?
Obviously cleared cache, rebooted etc. Just wonder if it's an OOS thing, as never had a problem on other Custom ROMs.

I am wondering if anyone knows what mods to use on stock rooted firmware to allow changing the battery icon and mod the clock for color, position etc. These are really the only changes I make to a phone after installing a custom rom. I also like the fact that custom roms have the bloatware removed. I can live with out using a custom rom if I can make the simple changes like. Thanks.

Fire it up and swipe over to the Interface page, and tap the Statusbar Icons button. Enjoy.
These icons are for those that like something a little different than the regular stock toggle icons. This just a little something i like to change on lots of my roms. If you are of the minimalist crowd, you obviously won't be interested in these. I have a NCG and have no idea if it works with other firmware. As always make a backup first. It will also change the Wifi and data icons as shown in the attachment. One is for a black background the other is stock. These are Sammy Dasko's toggle icon and pas2001's Wifi and Data icons. Both are from the Galaxy S4 international forum.
Edit: I'll be uploading additional themes off and on. I'm sharing the link to my dropbox folder that has all the toggles shown below and a few that aren't. If you want a different combination of one of these, let me know and I'll see what I can do. There are more down below. I have almost 100 different combinations and designs. These are in the common themes and apps area. For those on NI2, the only way to get these to work like they should is to flash the very first zip in the Dropbox before flashing anything else. This is a modified systemui that was made by EMSpilot to make the NI2 more themable.

I have safestrap and they are flashed through recovery. The labels are confusing. I hadn't intended to do more than a couple but got kind of carried away. Any of them can be flashed over with no problem but I'll see what I can do with the naming of them.
I've remamed them the best I could. I hope this makes it easier.
I forgot that some of these have pas2001 shut down animations. This is called sparks but it says Galaxy S4. I'll take them out if most of you want me to though they are pretty cool. To make the bootanimation work you have to use a root explorer and go to system/bin and set the permissions of the bootanimation file to 0755. Otherwise your bootup will seem like it is taking a while.
Edit: I took the bootinations off the zips.
Thank you for this mod, been looking to spice things up a bit, this is perfect. Curious though, all your pics show a flash light toggle, my toggles don't have it. Tried the toggle edit menu, but it's not there. Any ideas? By the way, I am running Rick's Rom NE version. Not to be picky, but noticed some of the text is cut off on the bottom of the toggles when you have them horizontally in the notification pull down.
Nice work bro....I can confirm that these work on my GNF1 international rom on the T-Mobile M919.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm not sure why the toggle names would be cutoff. They show fine on mine. I'm running Ricks ROM also (ricksrom8-NGC, not ne9). I have the retail version and the flashlight toggle shows on mine and works as well.
Hey, I moved these to the common themes and apps area for the Galaxy S5 as these work on other carriers as well. I have lots of new ones. I have tried to rename them in number order as they are listed (as they are in the common apps area). I also have a thread of bootanimations made by pas2001. He's great so check them out when you get a chance.

Try flashing this. If the flashlight toggle doesn't show up, you just don't have that option built into your rom.

I love your 1-Sammy-icons-4.4.2(8-7-14)BlueCubebackGround_Black-icon.zip toggle them, but would like to have status bar retained original (e.g. status, wifi, bluetooth, data and etc.).
If you want 3d toggles flash a numbered zip that doesn't have an "A" after the number. If you know which numbered one you like, tell me and I will make you one with no status bar changes.

I thought I'd share with everyone that the app/home replacement named THEMER is finally LG G3 Compatible as of today.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycolorscreen.themer&hl=en
If you aren't familiar, all you do is install the app, chose from one of over a hundred themes you like, and apply it. Widgets, backgrounds, everything on yours will look just like the pictures in the app gallery.
I've been using it for quite some time on my Nexus 5, and was happy to find out it worked fine on the G3 via restore from TIBU when I upgraded.
Doesn't work for me, can't get no themes. Says it's officially supported but says me phone isn't compatible.

You have to be using a stock/oem DPI and navigation bar height. If you change either, it won't work well if at all.
I updated this morning and it is working fine for me still. Perhaps uninstall and reinstall?

Ah, silly me. I changed the dpi back to stock but didn't think about the nav bar height. Thanks fellas ☺
I changed the dpi to stock with app settings module and still doesn't work hmmmm

Can't I force it somehow to work on modified DPI and navbar? Stock is just too big. I suppose I could set a custom DPI for the launcher only via App settings (the xposed module), but can I do the same for the navbar somehow?
This is awesome! Thanks for the heads up! Going to take some getting used to not using the knock to unlock lol
Edit: hmm knock still works!

Nope.
Actually, the only other way to get it to work I read about in their subforums here. You have to change the DPI and Navbar in a manner that still gives you a supported resolution in the end. I don't have any problems with the stock nav bar, though I've got mine themed. some of the themed navbars have small buttons on them.
If you can install the app, you should be able to look at themes, you just can't use the Browse Themes/Trending/newest/Most Popular sections, When you apply others, they may not look right since your resolution is off. I don't think they plugged this loophole yet.

Don't know what the issue is. DPI has to be stock, status bar needs to be stock size and so does nav bar. If they all are, it should work fine.
If they are, and it isn't, you should post in their forums.

Well in the browse section it points out that I have the wrong resolution, it doesn't do it at the categories, but they don't show anything. What's the stock navbar height? 48p?

THIS IS A PIXEL MOD FOR THE NEXUS 5X RUNNING ANDROID 8.0 (O-DP4)
UPDATED MOD HERE https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/themes-apps/zip-android-oreo-pixel-mod-t3663681
I apologize for the absence and silence. I'm excited that people here are trying to help out others too. I know the answers to some of the questions asked and I'm sorry for the silence. I went camping over the weekend and returned home to 2 giant bombs on my life. I've been working out some personal issues since then. I haven't played with apktool 2.2.4, but I'm excited about it. I'll get back to this as soon as I can, and hopefully this will bring some exciting updates
Here's an updated Pixel Mod built for O-DP4! :highfive: The navigation bar + animation is still an issue. But hopefully APKTool 2.2.4 will bring full support for Android O soon or hopefully I'll find another way. The "Double Tap to Check Notifications" is almost ready I believe. So stay tuned for that.
Also, I've added a custom feature to the Pixel Launcher. The Pixel Launcher in Android O allows you to choose different icon shapes (such as square, rounded square, etc.)? For those who want this mod with stock icons, I added the stock icons into that setting. Just look for "Stock Nexus"!
I don't have a Nexus 5X to test this, but the work is the same. So I've created the same mod for the Nexus 5X. Because I don't have the phone to test, feedback would be much appreciated.
If you get a problem with Pixel Launcher repeatedly force closing, go into settings from your quick settings and grant Pixel Launcher notification access. Thanks to
Queentus for the fix!
What's Included:
-O-DP4 Pixel Launcher W/ Wallpapers (Make sure to grant notification access for notification badges)
-O-DP4 Pixel Audio
-Pixel XL 1440p Boot Animation Blacked Edition (Thanks to Luthepa1)
-Pixel Blue Accent Color :good:
-Night Mode
-Round Icons
-"Stock Nexus" Icon Shape Available in Pixel Launcher Settings (See Screenshot)
What's Missing / Being Worked On:
-Pixel Navigation Bar Animation
-The New "Double Tap To Check Notifications" Feature"

Common Questions/Issues & Answers/Solutions
Tinted Nav Bar? Pixel Nav Bar?
-Not yet, still roadblocked on that one. Not giving up though.
Pixel Launcher is crashing repeatedly after flashing this mod!
-Go into settings from your quick settings and grant Pixel Launcher notification access. Thanks to
Queentus for the fix!
Not all icons are round?
-For some reason, yes. Gmail and Play Store are not converting to round for some reason. Work in Progress.
Substratum?
-This mod may break Substratum. If you want to use Substratum don't flash this mod. If you have, then just reflash your system.img to return to stock. If you want details, look for the footer*.
Notification Dots aren't working?!
-Make sure to enable the Notification Dots too. Go into the Pixel Launcher Settings (tap and hold like if you were adding a widget or changing a wallpaper). In the settings there is a category "Notification Dots". Even if it says "On" tap on it. Make sure "Allow Notification Dots" is on. Mine will do a little glitch like I repeatedly tapped it. I think it's just a bug in the Preview version of Pixel Launcher. But that should bring you the Dots if you don't have it.
Current Version: 2
*
Here's my reply in my 6P thread about this mod breaking Substratum:
"My guess if this mod breaks Substratum, it's not so much the mod, but Android O. Android O introduces it's own native theming support, which is why the Pixel and the Nexus have practically the exact same framework-res.apk. It's because the Pixel is actually utilizing a theme that is found in the vendor.img. If you look at the installed system apps of a Pixel on Android O, there's a new app called Pixel.apk. That's the theme. That shows up just like installed Substratum themes do.
I can guarantee you 100% that I can make this mod work with Substratum though, I've done it over and over again. The problem is I have to enable that theming support on the 6P instead of directly modifying the framework-res.apk. Remember the "Device Theme" setting in the first 2 previews? That's still there. Just hidden. I don't know how to activate it. But if you install the Pixel.apk theme from the Pixel in the vendor partition (has to be done manually) and then install a Substratum theme. What you find is that the "Device Theme" option appears. And you can then choose from your Substratum Theme or the Pixel theme. Just disable the Substratum theme (don't uninstall) and choose the Pixel.
However, I can't make that happen yet in just a flashable zip, so I don't have that as the released mod. But if you want Substratum compatibility, that's the way to do it"
:good:
thanks man download now:highfive:
Uninstalled substratum before install, works great (for me gmail has round icon)
Is it normal that google traduction hasn't the round icone ?
Also icons of other apps that are usually round such as xda labs and adaway are not changing either. No big deal but thought I'd mention it.
Also would appreciate it if someone could upload pixel.apk from the vendor.img. I have no way of extracting it.
Does it have navbar tuner? It's been missing since dp3. That's one feature I need most.
Thanks for your hard work though. ?
For some reason the option to change icon shape does not show to me. All icons are round.
UPDATE
Enabling System UI tuner and developer mode did the trick!

Figured we could get this going, seeing as only the fingerprint substratum theme is listed here.
What themes are you using with the OP7P successfully?
Also, are there any that change some system UI elements, like center clock for example?
Pitch Black. Works perfectly for me except for Clock and Messages (blacked out but no accent colour seems to load).
I had tried VaLeRie which usually works with OOS but it just seemed to keep restarting the systemui, will wait to see if the dev confirms updated for OP7Pro, more difficult now that G+ got the Thanos snap.
RENOVATE ICE will let you move the clock as well as other modifications.
You all should check out Swift Installer on the Play Store. It's a Substratum theme, but with a lot more options.

Substratum has been like that with Pie for a while, restart and go back in and the list of themed apps will probably be in there, make sure you've allowed Substratum the permissions to install apps.

Settings>Apps & notifications>Special app access then look for Substratum in all those sections and make sure it has them, "Install unknown apps" in particular.

You all should check out Swift Installer on the Play Store. It's a Substratum theme, but with a lot more options.

This. Best money I ever spent.
I use a combination of themes
Belo for everything except system ui and settings as it's not officially compatible with OOS
Flux white to fill in the gaps Belo left
And a couple of overlays from Outline
Flux, Flux White, Swift Dark, and Swift Black. All work nice.
sorry my ignorance, root is needed for substartum on op7pro?
I have been using it on note9 without root so

Not all substratum themes are compatible with Swift, right? I never used it, curious

I don't think it uses other themes, it makes it's own depending on the options you choose, there's a couple of Substratum apps that do the same.
Been using swift installer just fine - but I'm unable to theme quick settings to match notifications, anyone have any luck theming quick settings?

I was having the same issue. They updated Swift installer in the Play Store a day or so ago and now it's working completely with the 7 Pro
