"Ghosts" on the display - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Hello everyone, this evening when I play with my s8 plus, i notice that when i swipe from one screen to another, there are "ghosts" goes from top and bottom of the device. The worst it is, when the bringhtness is set to center/low and bluelight sensor is on, ist that normal? I try to make a video and take the screen when I took the password. Phone is after latest update QDD, after I install it, i clear dalvik cache, after that I make factory reset. The phone after the update is little bit slower, and how i remember, befor update the antutu was showing acros 175000, now it is about 172-3000. Where can be problem?
The new video and photo what i take:

I see nothing on the pic and vid.
What ghosts?
Could you please draw in the picture and Mark the places with the ghosting?

Hello, yesterday I was in Samsung Service center, and they told me, that is normal display functionality. So I was going to the near shop and compare it to another galaxy S8+ and lets see the differences, my display is little bit purple, what i should do, they said I should wait to another update, but last update QDD im currently download and install it and the phone have still a little bit purple colors on some angles. PS: my phone is after QDD update more lagging than before, some ideas what I should do? I made Clear dalvik cache and after that factory reset.

If you are unhappy with a device costing 1k€ then take it back, I certainly would. I am not suggesting you have a lemon but let the retailer see the problem and if you are not satisfied insist on a new mobile. Mine, so far, is fine, zero problems (touch wood). If it misbehaves it will go back as it should.
Let us know how you get on.

I would suggest getting it replaced. However, if you have as much trouble showing them what the issue is as you are us, I doubt they'll swap it. You need to put up some solid color backgrounds and see what it does. The pics you're posting could just be banding in the original image. Not sure what to to tell you.

That's the problem when I try the service code and turn on the red, green, blue screen, everything looks OK. As soon as I go to the main screen or I go to the application menu, and the brightness is set to less than half, the problem is there. This is not a static picture, the "bubble" above moves. When I turn on the blue light sensor, so it's even worse, but if I give more brightness, the problem is not. Also, there is no problem in any application. It would be good to have someone who has s8 plus orchid gray, to check if have the same problem, or at least try setting the orchid gray theme. Anyway, when I compared it with the other s8, the display was more pink, and I did not notice the problem what I have.

Believe me. I cant swe any hosting.
What I see is a dark screen where it should be dark.
I have orchid grey and I can check something for you.
PS. I checked every single picture posted here.
BTW. On yt video the animations are very slow. It looks like you turn on the specific option on the developers setting.

Maybe it is just software, we should wait. But at the night it is really annoying.

HTC Touch HD, problem with the display

Hey whats up,
I've got my HD for about a half a year and recently I noticed that its display doesn't display stuff properly. When I display some color transition, it's just not smooth. I'd describe it more like 3mm thick lines of cumulatively dark color next to each other. Therefore, the transition works, in the end the stripes make the picture look like some sort of a transition.
My problem is, that the final picture looks like a crappy GIF image. I'd like to ask you other guys with HTCs, is it normal that the display shows things this bad?
I can't remember if it had been like that before I bought it. I believe it might have something to do with one incident where I tried to take a photo while shaking the phone, resulting in an automatic soft reset leaving the display damaged for some reason. What do you guys think?
Thanks
Maybe another Softreset could help.
If not try a Hardreset.
regards
fwt
Are you setting this picture as the wallpaper, is this what u mean?
Im not sure what u are trying to do, is it only this picture that looks crap?
Did you solved problem with your HD display?
I have same problem with my Touch Cruise. But, not always, only sometimes. Clicking power-on button multiple times helps in temporary problem solving, but it repeats again and again.
i feel u can not care

HTC ONE M7 Display Fault

I've searched but can't find my problem anywhere so I'm hoping someone can help.
The phone was my daughters and had a cracked screen, the phone still functioned and had no other faults.
I've fitted a complete shell including screen and everything was fine for a couple of days then the problem started. When I have a brightly coloured background the titles under the screen icons distorts, the brighter colour the more the screen distorts and shimmers. If I change to a dark coloured or B&W background everything stabilises again. It might be a coincidence but about the same time as the fault started the phone did and update to 5.0.2 from 4.x.x. The rest of the phone works ok unless a bright colourful image is on screen. I've tried all the obvious suggested tests, reducing brightness etc but nothing makes a difference. Any help is much appreciated.
I've tried to attach a photo but it crashes safari on my iPad.
When looking at the HTC wallpapers the problem is worse if I scroll down the choices it is worse on the centre and right images which I think are rain and grass, 2nd row from last/bottom, the dandelion is ok though. Would this be the screen itself, software or hardware?
I really like this phone but will probably have to go back to using my old iPhone if this is android.

S8 - How I CAUSED red tint.

So I was completely worried about the red tint -- like everyone else -- and didn't notice any problems. All was happy in my world. YES, I didn't get a broken one! Then, while in display settings, I went into the color management and changed the option. BOOM red tint. When I went back to the default option with all the sliders to the right it was insanely red. Like the horrible ones you see on the google red. Sliding the red slider to the left mostly fixed it, but I swear I could still see it.
I did a complete factory reset and now I'm 100% good again and there's no way I'm touching display options. And as someone who disabled updates as I like having a remaped bixby button, I'm happy now as I don't want to software update until I know there's a fix for that garbage, too.
Anyway. If you're like me and don't see a problem, don't go messing with the color settings trying to fix something that isn't broken. You'll freak out Samsung's, as always, solid software and give your s8 a sunburn.
could it have been the Bluelight filter that turned on?

Screen Color Balance/Blue Light Filter

Hello,
First post here, looking for some help.
I just updated my At&T Galaxy Note 8 to Oreo, and with Oreo has come a very strange problem where the color of the screen is very red. It is definitely a software problem, as the correct color balance is there for a couple seconds after booting, then the red comes back. This has lead me to believe it is a problem with the blue light filter being unable to be turned off. The switch is settings is definitely off, and I even tried using Adhell 2 to completely disable it, but have had no luck. I've also revoked the permission to use screen overlays of all my apps that had it and that didn't help either.
If anyone has any ideas how to get my whites back to being white, I'd appreciate it greatly!
I'm having the same problem. Also my notifications aren't showing on any of my apps until I open them. I read something about the blue light application being turned off. I made sure my location is turned on and blue light still is stuck on.

i am having the exact same problem as well. same situation just i have a tmobil phone. i tried to disable the blue light filter with the bk manager to no luck .
my wife who has a note 8 as well has not updated and when compared side by side my phone has the blue light filter stuck on with the minimum opacity. i can still turn on the filter it just makes it even more incredibly red. i sadly do not have any advice to offer and hope there will be a hot fix soon.
To all who are suffering this. Check these settings.
1. Go to Settings/ Device Maintenance/ battery and make sure power saving mode is turned off.
2. Settings/ Display/ Screen Mode and make sure its on the highest setting.
3. This is mostly a diagnostic step but, Turn the blue light filter off, then HOLD the power but to open the power menu then touch AND HOLD power off till it asks for comfirmation to boot into safe mode. Then do it.
If non of that works. A Factory Reset may be needed.
Back your personal stuff up. NEVER back up settings if your having a software issue.
Id turn the blue light filter off first then reset from recovery.
Mine started doing the same thing today and I checked the setting and saw I accidentally turned on scheduling.
First note 8 I bought did this the first day, ended up returning g it for a new phone. Mine had a yellow tint to the screen and there's a million things on Google about it.

S7 Strange Screen Flickering

So I bought my used S7 recently, the device seems to be totally clean not even a scratch on the frame, looks like brand new and even the software status is OFFICIAL not even the Knox is tripped.
I found a thread on XDA about using an updated version of TouchWiz Home of the S8 for the S7 by installing the APK.
it worked like a charm until I started to change my wallpapers and notice something strange.
im using an application to change the wallpapers auto every 5 minutes, the problem is whenever the wallpaper i use has some bright colors like bright purple or bright red and i press the app button to access the app drawer those colors (ONLY) flicker , they flicker just before the screen get blurred and take u to the app drawer, and also when u go back to the main screen from the app drawer also right after the blur disappear.
i got scared so i uninstalled that Touchwiz Update and came back to stock, to notice that the problem is still there, but its not as noticeable as the s8 TW
i wanted to know if the screen is dying or this is something normal, and also wanted to know if its a software related problem or hardware one, and finally if someone is having the same issue ( i can share a wallpaper if anyone is willing to try wit it )
NB: the screen flicker ONLY ON THE BRIGHT COLOR before the blur effect happens and After it.
Thank you all in advance & i apologize for my English
I made this video If you focus on the second time especially ( when going to the home screen from the app drawer ) you can see clearly the red rose flicker. Sometimes the flickering is harder depending on how bright is the color.

This can only be a software problem, because its also visible in the Video. Your screen is not damaged, and it will not be damaged. This issue is not a problem, maybe only a bit annoying.

It is so annoying for me cuz i had an old S5 plus that ended up with the screen flickering so whenever i see it flickering i got a heart attack.
Is there anyway to fix it i tried factory reset but nothing changed..
Thank you anyway for replying
I think thats a Problem with the Launcher. I've tried it on my Phone, and it is also flickering. You can try to speed up the Animation-Speed in the Developer-Settings. Maybe then you wont see the flickering.
You can see it here, that it is also on my phone: https://photos.app.goo.gl/nYKM5ss9EKe3L0M43

Thank you very much !!!! You have no idea how much its relieving to know that this problem is not only present in my device.
For now ill just stay away from bright wallpapers until hopefully Samsung will make fix for this issue.
Thank you again !
EDIT : after i came to the pc and i saw the GIF u made i noticed that we dont have the same flickering , maybe the quality of the GIF wasnt high enough but for me it didnt seem to be te same, so i will ask you one last time when you tried that wallpaper did it show the SAME result as my video for u ?
thank you in advance
