2 question reg. default radio app:
- it supports RDS allright, so when it shows the text i can long-press the FM preset box to save the station and display it as TEXT instead of FM FREQ. Problem is that if i play that station, both preset name and display (in the centre) switch every few seconds between TEXT and FREQ. Can this be disabled somehow, so that presets stick with the FM RDS TEXT name?
- scrolling thru the 3 sets of FM presets is sometimes tricky: it kind of pulls back to the previous set (where the currently playing station is saved) as soon as you release the finger from the screen. Can anyone confirm this? Can it be fixed somehow?
i attached a short clip to show what i mean reg. switching text/freq back and forth.
Bump, does anyone else notice this?
I sent feedback to Joying, they confirmed the behavior and trying to fix it for next FW release.
i don't like that too. I don't want to disable RDS function to have unchanging names. Text of buttons should be added once, during adding stations (with actual RDS content) and changed again on next saving.

hi... do you all think its possible if the phone (any windows mobile 5.0 device) vibrates with the beats when we play a mp3 or audio file on the device? can any program be written for it such that with every audio bass output the phone vibrates simaltaneously so that it gives a nice effect ? just an idea
i dont know how phones vibrate these days but last time i checked it was achieved by runnning a very small motor with an off-balance weight to make the vibration.
If thats the same method that they use today then it would probably drain your battery life after an hour of music playing.
Im sure its possible, just probably not wise
i know one of m friends 'candy bar' phones vibrated tot he beat when it rang. that's what I thought of when I first read the post. anyway think that mgiht be possible? it would be a weird program. cause i dont see how t would know the beat.
I've had a bit of experience with making polyphonic MIDI ringtones.
Nokia phones supported a special function for having the phone vibrate in sync with the ringtone. Essentially, the vibration was just like another instrument in the MIDI file. It had its own channel and responded to a certain note event; essentially, the phone "played" the vibration just as it did the rest of the "real" instruments.
In order for this to work, the ringtone had to be a properly-formatted Scalable Polyphony MIDI (SP-MIDI file), and the author had to have actually created a vibration track for the song.
As far as I know, our Windows Mobile devices don't support this format. They do support MIDI files, but not SP-MIDI. As SP-MIDI is somewhat backwards compatible with MIDI (it's really just an extension), the melodic instruments would play. However, the vibration track may be ignored, or it may even be rendered as a normal instrument depending on how it interprets the file's initialization messages (really nothing more than System Exclusive messages).
Well, certainly using the MIDI way would be much easier and, file smaller in size. However, still, theoretically, it is possible with any music format, depending on the implementation. E.g. If you would like to have the ring tone to be vibrating with the deep base, you would just get the signal, do a FFT, and get the sound spectrum (those things you get from a graphical equalizer withs bars jumping around?). If you were to use your PC's WMP, you can get the sound spectrum by choosing the visualization to 'bar' (I think). Bars at one of the ends (usually the left) reflects the base sounds. If there could be a vibrate-controlling-mech that reads these bars, you can switch the vibrating on/off if these bars exceed a certain height.
Hello all,
I did some searches and didn't find a clear answer to this. The phone is an AT&T Tilt reflashed with a HTC based rom. The problem is when bluetooth stereo is enabled, ring/sms tones come out of the bluetooth headset rather than the back speaker on the phone. I have seen suggestions in other forums to uncheck the handsfree profile for the bluetooth heaset, however this does not solve the problem. That merely stops the headset from being able to answer and make phone calls. It has no effect on the ring/sms tones coming out the headset.
If we unselect the stereo bluetooth option, then the ring/sms tones come out the back speaker properly. But then we are unable to listen to music over the headset.
I have not yet tried BTAudio Toggle but plan to later (this is actually my wife's phone so I can't try anything at the moment). But is anyone aware of a solution that will put the notifications on the back speaker and leave other audio over the stereo bluetooth? I came across one post where the person was experiencing exactly this and wanted it switched to the behavior we are experiencing, so I know it's possible. I just don't have any idea how to get it to behave that way.
One odd thing is the alarm clock sounds do come out of the back speaker still. But they are not configured in sounds and notifications.
Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions.
UPDATE:
Using BTAudioToggle and setting the audio to the BT headset sends all audio to the headset as expected. Setting the audio back to the back speaker has mixed results. The clock alarms and the ring tone go to the back speaker. All other sounds (all notifications, etc) still go to the BT stereo headset.
I spent about an hour searching through the registry for anything that might fix this and was unable to find anything.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

You now have what would be considered "proper" default behavior. The high priority sounds (phone call & alarms) will come across the speaker and everything else (music, email/sms/mms notification) will come over Bluetooth.
This is due to the following:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\*]
"Speaker"=dword:1
You'll notice that [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring] and [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Alarm] both have this value. Simply add the value to other sound types you wish to be duplicated on the speaker.
Cheers,

Thanks so much for your reply!
Do you know what category applies to SMS notifications or notifications in general?
I saw a reference to a "Notification" category so I created the key and added "Speaker"=dword:1 to it but this did not solve the problem. Did a soft reset to make sure it wasn't a setting that was only read at boot up.
The other sound categories listed don't appear to apply to SMS notifications or notifications in general. So although what you are saying clearly is correct, I'm still not finding the proper keys and values to add to set this the way we would prefer.
Again, thanks for your reply and thanks in advance for any further assistance.
Never mind. I was able to solve it. I added two other dword values to the "Notification" category, did a soft reset and it worked.
The added values were:
"AttenuationCategory"=dword:2
"InitVol"=dword:3
Both were copied from the "Ring" sound category.
Thanks so much for your help!
Same problem
I've got the same problem and was not able to solve it with help from the previous replys in this thread. Any idea how to get the SMS ring tones from the speaker of the phone rather than from the bluetooth handsfree set?
/ Loloson
where do you copy these new values
I don't understand where these values should be copied to make the notifications work as I would like them to. Could you be more specific.
I use the "headset blocker" widget to stop the random skipped tracks and pausing issue that the evo has. Does anyone know of a "patch" that could be implemented rather than using the widget. I have no headsets that have controls on them, so I wouldnt need to turn this feature "off".

If I'm listening to audio in MX Player Pro on my Galaxy S7, it will interrupt for a second whenever I perform another operation, even though I have set the audio to play in the background. The settings for background audio are a little unclear (screenshot attached), but I've tried every configuration with no improvement.
This interruption happens when I minimize the screen with the home button or click the side button for the display to go blank, or basically any task. The audio does resume after that short interruption.
Is there a setting for it to play uninterrupted while performing other functions? Any info is greatly appreciated.

HI,
It's introduced in recent versions as there are some issues in certain devices.
We have also received the similar report from others.
In the next version, it will be optional. Users with issue can enable the new option to avoid the issue while others can get the old behaviour.
Thank you. Can you tell me the name of the option and where to find it in the settings once the new version is released?

There won't be any extra effort required on your end.
There will be a option called "Smooth Switch" just below background play. By default it will be disabled.
When it's enabled audio will fade out when you switch to background. It's for those who has issues.
