GimmeABreak is a Rom I thought up originally for the DHD a while ago, but 5 months later I've brung it back for another run on the Desire! So enjoy!​

WHAT YOU NEED:
HTC Desire
Custom recovery
A brain

KNOWN ISSUES:
- ART currently is disabled by intention
- SELinux is currently disabled by intention
- Livewallpapers cause graphic glitches
- QuickReply in Messaging causes reboot

HOW TO FLASH:
Download the latest version and place it on your SD card
Boot your phone into recovery mode
Do a Full Wipe (recommended)
Browse to the location of the ROM
Flash ROM and boot it
Install A2SD:
Code:
1) run Terminal Emulator
2) type 'su' and press enter
3) allow root access in the popup query
4) type 'a2sd install' and press enter
5) reply to questions in this order
--> y n y (dalvik to card - yes, data to card - no, reboot - yes)
6) that's it

yep, first i got an error communicating with google servers. wiped and flashed again and now there's no option to add a google account

Thats odd, are you using the slim gapps from cm11 or different? You may need to wipe data/factory reset

tried it again and now it works, but right after first boot i got the low space message :\

had the same problem,this is my workaround: wipe all, reinstall the rom without gapps, boot the phone and install a2sd, reboot the phone, reboot recovery and install gapps. :laugh:

After posting I remembered that and it worked...but I went to bed and only remembered now to post saying that it was working

I will be updating soon, should fix some bugs

User Manual - For Better Performance & Battery Backup | Gamers | Daily Users
To get more battery backup:
Go to Settings ---> Advance options --> Performance --> Advance settings --> Touch screen
OFF the Sweep to Wake Sweep to Sleep & Double Tap to Wake then ON the Set on boot button
Reason: S2W | S2S | DTW are available at the cost of more power, means touch will not go to sleep so logically it will use more battery but if you love these features then enjoy them
For advance users to get more performance:
Go to Settings ---> Advance options --> Performance --> Advance settings --> Dynamic Fsync
FSYNC stands for file sync. Disabling it boosts the performance, responsiveness and database.
Warning! Disabling has a side effect of a possible data loss but there are 0.10 out 100 chances. So disable it and enjoy the snappy phone
Don't increase SD read ahead amount !
Keep your phone clean by:
Go to Settings ---> Advance options --> Performance --> Tools
Clean residual files
Optimize databases
Do it after few days !
Don't use Xposed Framework ! It makes ROM laggy.
Don't use battery saving apps, these apps uses RAM their self
Don't use task manager, these apps uses RAM their self, ANDROID has best built-in task manager
Restart your phone once a day
WARNING! ROM is tweaked at its best, don't try your own tweaking, you'll lose stability & get bad results.

1) Put the zip file in your SD Card
2) Reboot in Recovery Mode (use Twrp or Philz Recovery)
3) Wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache and format /System (If running Philz Recovery use the "Clean before install a new rom" option)
4) Install the ROM
5) Reboot.
Note: First boot may take a while, that's normal. Once it booted setup your device and reboot again to ensure the full performance of the rom.

-AOD is partially working but is better to disable it at first boot!!
-Edge Feeds and Edge light (disable it at first boot can make phone laggy!!)
-N7 Camera is not fully working but all base features works
- Fingerprint dont works for unlock phone (use 3rd pary lockscreen for use it as unlock method like hi locker)
-Dont use the resolution changer in settings or smart manager or you need to reflash clean because resolution changes!

with you register form security tab fingerprint and in hi locker you select then fp

Doesn't work when setting fingerprint takes me to Create backup password, enter my backup password, click continue and nothing happens.
And flashlight toggle doesn't turn off fix please.

Make sure you have Marshmallow Bootloader and Modem.
Install a Custom Recovery via Odin3 (If you want TWRP please install version 3.0.2-1 or below otherwise installer will not work)
Download the ROM zip
Reboot to Recovery, do a Wipe (Data, Art, Cache and System) and flash the zip
Select the options you prefer in aroma (Camera, mods, apps etc). Make sure to select your phone variant in order to not get hw problems during the rom usage.
Install the ROM and reboot to system, it will take 10 minutes to boot (system haves to rebuild the art cache as rom is deodexed)

And I forgot to say it. If you find problem with aroma (screenfreeze meanwhile rom installs) click 2 times in the bottom right of the screen (where the next button is located) and then install finishes, otherwise remove the battery of the phone, redo the wipes and retry flash

Installed, 20 minutes of using it...seems stable.
