you all know our Great Friend / Developer Adam has provided us CM 10 & 10.1 for us (Galaxy R) and after Adam released his Sources we got around 10 Different kind of ROM's Based on CM 10 / 10.1 and i saw so many hard code fan's for CM (CyanogenMod) including me.....
So My Question is very simple :
Why Do You Use / Like CyanogenMod ?
My Answer:
1. I started using CyanogenMod and I saved 25% on my Car / Bike Insurance..
2. I started using CyanogenMod and lost 10kg's, so i am happy ...
Just Joking guys, please don't post like this ... .....
1. It's slimmer than stock ROM.
2. Up to date (Android 4.2.1)...
3. can be configured as per your wish.
4. It's faster Compared to Stock ROM's...
5. Stock Google Feel and better......
1. Latest version of Android.
2. No bloatware.
3. Optimized Code - Thanks to community and gerrit review.
4. Helps my addiction towards flashing, learning new things.
5. Making fellow s2 owners at work feel poor even though they spent 10k INR more.
Will edit this post to include more as I get to understand better.
Sent from my Galaxy Royale with Adam's CM10.1 build.
For me, When I listed its Official ringtone "Cyanogen modddddddd" My heart says, " I have 4.2.1 JB in my phone" Even My note 2 doesn't have it.:cyclops:
1) Smoother then other ROMs.
2) Small in size & I can have 3 roms(versions) in my memory card.
3) Latest things happened in it including Stock ROM features.
4) Project butter in it. ( I think)
5) Great themes for us.
Lots more, right now very much busy. Will right more in evening..
1 lots of new features added like day dream, calender nd messages menu in lock screen bars
2 cool Quick panel view
3 rotation in launcher and home screen(liked this feature the most)
4 battery backup simply awesome
5 CM 10 supports cool and awesome themes
and many more features..
i can say i have the latest available version of android now..:good:
1. Similar to AOSP/AOKP.
2. Wicked fast.
3. Smooth since project butter.
4. New features since it is the latest version(4.2.1).
5. Better UI.
6. Since it is d latest version, i can brag about my SGR even in front of SGS2 and other high end fones like HTC, Sony..
7. And last but not the least, Adam was the one who brought life to our SGR when samsung ignored us.. So hats off to XDA community and also CM for their support..
I hate to wait, and I think so does CyanogenMod! Its SuperFast, SuperSlim.
It has given me everything that I've been looking for in a ROM for a long time.
Plus, I get to boast about JB and Google Now among my friends.
Lastly, I think CyanogenMod holds a very special place for us coz, it was the first source built ROM for the Galaxy R and it was Adam who got it for us and since then our little Galaxy R forum went from being a quiet place into a ROM frenzy. Thanx to great awesome dev's like MJ.Vikram, Grarak, Karthik etc
CyanogenMod <3 <3
1. CM is smooth makes me happy using my phone.
2. Only CM offers JB on Galaxy R (now i can say its Royal).
3. One great guy made it especially for me Adam77Root (with forumers help ofc)
4. Damn look nice and i got full control.
5. Thanks to CM, Adam and You guys i didn't sell my phone (after ICS release by samsung i want to sell it).

CM is pretty awesome.. Things like customizing the look and feel of the entire OS to even basic things like switching from 2G-3G with a single click make me appreciate its beauty! Brilliant efforts have been put behind the scenes for making something like this, and we, the users of CM are thankful to all the developers! Cheers!

It gave me one very important thing it gives your phone what it deserves.
i like cm because:
it is smooth, slick and easy to use, plus looks cool.
games never lags.
its 4.2.2!
but!
i CAN'T use cm because:
i cant see my sd card when i need it.
phone doesnt wake up (screen does not lit) when you receive a message.
i love rosemary font which belongs to stock ics, but i dont want to install an 3rd party app for that.
vibration strength is very low so i can't feel it.
This is my first time installing a custom ROM on my original Moto G and with so many to choose from I was wondering what your opinion is. The Overview of the ROM doesn't say much about speed/battery/CPU Usage etc. I'm looking for a ROM that's light on CPU and Battery as well as fast and customizable. I know CM is the most popular but I've heard it's not to good with battery life. Oh, and one more thing, Going with customizeability/features idea I would prefer Android 6. Any input would be greatly apreciated
P.S. Wouldn't mind kernel recommendations either, but I have a less than basic understanding of a kernel .
I would recommand ResurrectionRemix its based on 6.0.1 and has the april 2 security update and has OTA support its based on CM13 also but has so many tweaks and customization without loosing fluidity and smoothness im runnning it after testing multiple rom andits the one I<ll stay with until android 7... im getting 6h screen on time on a 12h uptime day (yesterday) it also offers the cm13 theme installer so pretty sick
Hello Mattwmaster58,
I am in the same situation - looking for a fast, stable(!) & bug-free rom with very good battery-performance.
I have testet many xda-roms for my old samsung-phone (S3 mini), and was surprised how much one differs from the others.
There is quite big list of number of Custom ROMs available for Moto G which might confuse users like us. Every single rom has some advantages and disadvantages.
For me it is important that the rom-thread provides a list of bugs and features, and also shows what changes were made (for instance: Omni-Rom).
I haven't shifted from Orion OS from 4 months give it a try buttery smooth and stable totally bug free if u don't use soft reboot that's IMO nothing big
Btw do tell if u find a better in terms of battery or performance or either
I have tested 15 ROMs for Moto G (Falcon) and below is my recommendation of ROMs :
- Omnirom : Stable and fluid.
- SlimSaber : Optimized version of Omnirom - fast smooth and stable, especially previous version. Good battery SoT.
- Exodus : rock solid stable.
- IDCrisis : stock based, stable

I'm a noob at this haha, thank you
Hi, I like the phone but also I want to put some tweaks like 90hz display, custom roms, pixel 6 camera features(motion mode), kernels...
will we see a lot of development as in the xiaomi poco f1 or not?
thank you
If you have a Xaomi, i recommend keeping it a little longer. Roms for this devive are in a weird situation because the only 2 stable ones are calyx and graphene which arevboth great, but they are both very barebones and kind of difficult if you aren't experienced with degoogling

thank you, but with the same cpu as pixel 6 and 6 pro, it will be easy to port roms from pixel 6?

Yes, adding Bluejay is possible. Whether developers choose to do it is another question.
Velocity will be ready for public release soon. I'm just buttoning up a few more things.
I noticed with the phones I've own, custom ROM seem to get me frequent as the phone gets older and the stock rom releases begin to vaporize. If the phone has enuff hardware power n memory AND there's no more factory support (as in many older midrange Motos). The Moto G5+ and G5S+ had active 'post' communities as did the G6...I got a G7 cuz of 4gb memory figured it'd be a big post EOL project/rom phone BUT I missed the fact that moto was following google with the whole dynamic update w/ dual A/B slots which killed our beloved TWRP custom recovery and nandrive image backup.
BUT is u weren't into rooting/tweaking then that explains why Android Police named it the #1 phone for running LOS! Esp. after Moto released thr Android 10 kernel source code!! This is the main reason I didn't sell/trade it off...and ofc my wife put one of those sky-blue 2pc cases from Poetic and claimed it! lol
