i changed the file explorer to es file explorer, edited mixer path file and saved it. now it works great. thanks so much for ur support. it seems that Amaze file explorer cant save edited files while es file explorer can

Did you ever get this fixed?
Yes and no. I rooted my device using the tot file method. Luckily all I had to do was reload that file and it fixed my sound but also reset my phone. I have tried a few other methods to get the volume louder but nothing seems to stick after reboot. Viper4android worked at First but since then has stopped working for me.
the volume port by messi was removed as he is removing his work from xda but does anyone know how to do it manually or have a mod of their own for mixer_paths.xml

robert i reenabled the download links you can try it now.
I changed my boot animation and wanted to change the bootsound too. So, I replaced the BootSound.ogg file with the one I wanted but when phone boots, there is no audio whatsoever.
Location of bootsound: "/system/media/audio/animationsounds/bootSound.ogg"

Did you cheeked if the file isn't corrupt and if it plays the sound on any music app? Be aware that file have to be the exact name of stock one

Requirements:
1- Device
2- Root
3- File manager with root access
Installion:
1- Download file "mixer_paths.xml"
2- Replace "mixer_paths.xml" in root/system/etc
3- Change the permissions to rw-r--r--
4- Restart your mobile
