I pulled down the status bar, and I noticed in the bottom right corner, a small faded circle.. I went in some other apps with the brightness turned down, and it was there too..
I took a screenshot and looked on my comp to make sure, and it's definitely a problem with the screen.
I don't have another device to take a picture of the actual phone, but I took a screenshot and used paint to edit in where the circle is, here's the pic:

Anyone else see this? It's hard to see with brightness up, turn it down.
I noticed a dot on my screen when I was writing a text message (on a white background) so I decided to investigate the issue further and checked to see how the small dot looked against various other colored backgrounds (cyan, red, yellow, black). What I noticed is that when the dot is against a black background it turns to white. When I turn my screen off the white dot is still there. Do pixels remain visible on the screen after the screen has been turned off, or are you only able to see them when the screen on?
I'm trying to determine if it's a dead pixel, stuck pixel, or dust under the screen and trying to figure out how to get rid of it.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Should be a stuck pixel as a dead pixel wouldn't light up at all (Dead as in you know - it doesn't work). Try pressing on it lightly to possibly get it unstuck.
Or it could be something dirty under the screen, heh.
Screen appears to have died.
First it started with a vertical line of wrong colour pixels, it was this way for a few months. Then half the screen went white and later that day the screen died.
It flickers white and pink for a split second in the top right corner when you wake it, but then goes off. Otherwise the phone works as screenshots and apps respond, and responds to touch.
Don't suppose anyone knows any dirty tricks for fixing it that don't require taking it apart? Like heating it or something?
Hello there
I lukily save a oneplus from a recycled bin. The screen was broken but a red light when plugged let me think it was still alive.
I have change the screen myself. The screen came with a new frame. All work, but I never get any oneplus before. I use to get Korean phone only.
Well. I got strange stuff and I am wondering if it a OnePlus things or a screen quality issue.
I sadly learn the deal with the AOD which is not Always on... Well next.
First the double tap to wake work only on the right half side of screen. There is no reaction if I click anywhere on the left half part of the screen.
Is that a OnePlus things to avoid accident ?
Second when I select in the setting to hide the notch. It does not completely disapears, a line of the size of one pixel still visible. So only 99% of the notch is hidden.
Third, I love OLED display for the black. It work well on the OnePlus, until the brigtness get less thqn 5%. From there and less, the black become a dark blue. I have tried to swap night mode, flicker and other, but still, at best the dark blue become dark red.
Thanks in advance for confirming or not the points.
Woke up today to see that my screen display has somehow shrunk and now I have a black border and my display does not fill up the entire screen panel. All apps get cutoff by this new black border. Is this a setting or something? I looked through the whole phone setting and couldn't find anything that would make this change or reverse it. Please help. I guess another way of saying it is the screen doesnt stretch to fill up the entire panel like it normally should.

I have attached the pictures. The 3 phone pics show the odd black border or the screen just shrinking in as the corner contours are still there from the edges. The Guardian Tales image is from taking a screen shot using the Power + Vloume Down key combo and takes a picture of the whole screen without the border issue. Its really odd.

I still don't understand your problem, I don't see anything wrong with the picture. And for the screenshot it will be always perfect as those are not related to the display.
If you look at picture 4, bottom right corner, the KONG logo is cutoff, it should look like picture 1. The black border in pictures 2 and 3 shouldnt be there, the homescreen should be fully covering the display and not have that thick of black broder cuase the display shrunk for some reason.
your display is not shrinking, the LCD is failing.

What do you mean failing? Its brand new and not even like 2 months old @[email protected]
Not sure if there is a setting or not, but my phone has been the same way since purchase. The screen does not go right to the end of the bezels. Some apps are cut off in each of the corners, because it seems it's scanning the image to a perfect 90 degree corner, meanwhile the screen itself not a 90 degree corner, but more of a concave corner. Because of this, the app is getting cut off in the corners, not much, but some.
I always assumed it was due to the way OnePlus has its screen and apps not properly scaling to the screen corners. Some apps have black bars on the side and it's not known or shown. Other apps that scale up to full screen in landscape mode, to the edges of the screen, those are the ones that get cut off at the corners.
In your picture, it's the same, that image is being scaled up to full screen in landscape, since the word Kong is in the far bottom right corner, it is cut off when scaled up.
