I wasn't totally happy with the available watch faces so I made my own instead using watch maker premium. Anyone have any other military time based faces?

It's not free, but look at BackCountry Navigator for Gear 2, it has a compass.

You can use the clock face apps to tell direction by pointing the hour arm to the sun. Keep in mind North or South hemisphere.
It's quite easy actually....
An app alone can't tell you where North is, the device itself must have internal compass hardware which sadly, the gear does not have so a compass app would be impossible.

A free Compass in galaxy store seems it came out oct 24 2014 says its from Samsung
it looks more like a Gear S app ifg you can't download let me know I'll get apk for you I have Gear S

Yes, you can. Make sure you login to the same facer account on both devices.
I am using it on Galacy watch 4 classic and active 2 watch.

and go to login page and use the same premium account. Install the facer watch app from playstore and register both the watches using two phones.
