Trouble getting Secure Settings to work properly. Keeps opening up in the foreground - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

Wonder if someone can tell me what Im doing wrong here. Im using secure settings with Macrodroid (prefer this to tasker).
My issue is, whenever a macro is triggered that uses secure settings (for example, turn on airplane mode when connected to wifi), it will launch secure settings in the foreground in order to do it.
Also, if secure settings isnt open in the background (i.e., not in recents) and the macro is triggered, nothing will happen.
Any ideas what is going on? I know this isn't the normal behavior with secure settings, but Im stumped.

[Q] Can't turn on Background Tasks apps

I have a Samsung Focus with Mango installed. On a recent trip, in an effort to conserve battery, I turned off most of the background tasks (settings > applications > background tasks).
To try to turn them back on, I went back to that location and checked the box "Turn background tasks back on for this app the next time I open it". I then went to the app, opened it, but was not asked to turn background task on.
Does anyone know how to properly re-activate background tasks for particular apps?
Try pin the apps and also open the apps and see if there is a second push option. If so turn that on. If that doesn work, uninstall andre install.
I had the same issue with the BBC app as well as groupon. Once I reinstalled one I pinned and refreshed.
The app should itself have a setting to enable or disable the background agent; manually re-enabling it should work.
By the way, for future reference you can easily disable background agents temporarily by putting the phone in Battery Saver mode. This also disables automatic email syncing (another huge battery user) though you can still manually sync.

Is there a way to lengthen the "time on" for the lockscreens w/o entering password?

Is there a way to lengthen the "time on" for the lockscreens w/o entering password?
Title asks it all 8)
Looking to extend the awake time for the lockscreen while it's waiting for one to enter the password, unlock pattern, etc.
EDIT: Reason being - while using the Xposed Quick Access module it would be nice if the screen didn't off itself after a couple of seconds whilst I'm reading whatever info I have set for Quick Access-ability.
Thanks!
Sooo... I think I've solved this issue with a Tasker task. Tested with an n = 1 data set, but that one was a success. Looking forward to future testings to see if this works and solves the issue.
For those interested - in Tasker, I set up an app profile and triggered screen on, never timeout while that app is open / on-screen. Not the most perfect task since I'll have to actively remove the app from the screen for the phone to operate the lock function as normal, but I think it'll work for what I was hoping to do.
- Using Xposed Notification mod, I can pull down the notification menu down when I receive a new notification (an email for example).
- Or even better, using the Dynamic Notifications app I can open the email straight from the dynamic notification (similar to the function found on the Moto X for those not familiar).
- Then through the Xposed Quick Access mod, the email opens right over the lockscreen without going through the whole unlocking the phone process saving a few motions, clicks, etc.
- Then the Tasker task takes over and keeps the screen on whilst I'm reading / responding to the email, then when I delete the email and the lockscreen appears, the Tasker task ends and the screen goes back into default screen off / timeout mode.
Hopefully this will help someone else out in the future, or give someone else another idea! 8)

[Q] Tasker can't access Secure Settings

I posted earlier today but realized the problem goes deeper than I thought...
Rooted, lollipop 5.0.1, tasker pro & secure settings pro.
I installed helper or whatever it's called now to have root access via secure settings
I set up a task to try and toggle GPS and if I go to test action it works great. However, hitting the play button does nothing (despite giving me a green circle) and if I set a profile to toggle GPS it does nothing either. I tried doing some other things (eg. toggle airplane mode) with no luck. I have been going +task, plugins>secure settings>GPS and hitting toggle. Any one know what could be the issue? Thanks

apps like pie control and GMD immersive mode get disabled after a prolonged lock

title^
I want to use Pie control in conjunction with GMD's immersive mode but every time I lock my phone the accessibility switch for pie control always resets from on to off and pie control as an app ceases to function.
The same happens for GMD's immersive mode, it never stays on and the process seems to be destroyed every time I leave the phone locked for a while.
More questions:
Is there any way to get the pin code on the lockscreen to be minimized and have something like a slide to get to pin?
Notifications on lockscreen while you have a pincode/fingerprint id enabled?
Are both apps whitelisted to prevent closing when you lock the phone? I don't know what GMD is.
To get notifications on the lock screen they need to be enabled in Settings and for each app. I'm using the EMUI5/Nougat beta and don't remember where exactly each is at. It's something like Settings -> Notifications and Settings -> App respectively.

Question The accessibility setting (navigation bar) resets every time the unit wakes up

Hi,
I have a joying UIS7862, 6GB+128GB,10.1" 1920x1200 head unit .
I am trying to use a navigation bar type application. After installing this application in the accessibility settings there is a new option that must be enabled for this app to work.
After enabling this option, the application works fine, but every time unit wakes up from sleep, this setting goes back to off.
Of course if you switch it to 'on' the application works fine again.
Does anyone know how to set this option permanently?
(the same problem concerns also other navigation bar apps )

What app are you using?
Have you tried installing it as a system app?

It is 'simple control - navigation bar' . But I have tried many of them and it was the same.
How can I install it as a system app?
What application is this?
What accessibility option are you using?
Perhaps there is a way to use Tasker to enable this option on starts

This is navigation bar type application. Just back, home and recent button. I thought about tasker, but I can not get it to perform a task at system wake up. Tasker is probably killed when device goes to sleep and then automatically restored but with some delay. It works after the system wake up, but I can not find the way to make it react to waking up ....
I would start by creating a tasker task that makes the appr. system changes. Then put a tasker widget/button on your home screen for that task. From there you can work on automating it via any of the many options you might have available thru tasker (screen/wifi/bt on/off etc)
in my unit (mekede), there is an option in the settings to autostart up to 3 apps. maybe if yours has that, it would help
All of the apps I use stay in memory while the unit is asleep

Exactly, the newer Mekede/NOR MCU units do this really well.
Up to three apps can be defined.
