Hello everyone,
I just bought Honor 6x and I'm quite happy so far. There are few things that are annoying me mainly unable to expand notifications on my lockscreen. I get lot of WhatsApp messages I just want to skim through notification on lock screen to see from whom and what have I received. I went through all settings available but couldn't find any solution.
Can you guys please help me find a solution for this? Or is there any app that will help in ease of viewing notifications? Or is rooting the only option (will also help in removing all useless stock apps)?

You should wait for the new software update it should fix this and it should be released within a month time.

I just read other thread regarding notifications in EMUI 5 looks like even with update you can't expand notifications, we can only dismiss or open notification from lock screen.

So Im loving this phone just like everyone else but im curiouse if it is possible to have the number of missed text and stuff on my lockscreen while i have security on such as the pattern feature? Or does it have to be on swipe in order for me to see any of this?
bump
Use goSMS pro. You can customize it to act like an iPhone whenever someone texts you, it will show up in your screen without unlocking.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
Really now? is it possible to get a screen shot of an example of this? haha just because im kind of married right now to the stock messaging app but that little detail you just mentioned might make me switch
Android 4.0 allows you to access the drop-down notification bar from the lockscreen. I'm not sure if it works when there's a password, though.
I don't have access to my phone for the next week, so I can't exactly test it for you, either.
EDIT:
So I looked up the issue a bit more, and found this old thread from last year talking about the GoSMS Pro lockscreen pop-up notifications:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1231142
For some people it worked, but for others, it didn't. I suggest you give it a quick read.
Try DashClock of you are on 4.2 - looks great and does exactly what I need!
Search it up on Google Play, I cant post links yet
the drop-down notification bar from the lockscreen.
Hello guys!
I spent a good amount of time trying to solve my problem but with no good results.
I want to remove every single preview from the notification bar. Just to show the icons. And I was just able to remove the SMS preview with Handcent SMS but no further then that.
Does anyone got a solution for this? Can anyone develop an app that could change this?
Thank you very much!
I just updated my phone to 5.0 and while there are many cool new features, I'm not a fan of the pop up notifications that appear "banner" like across the top of the phone.
Not really noticing this with all apps but Facebook Messenger and Hangouts both have this. I tried checking sound/notifications and it does give you the option to disable notifications entirely for certain apps but thats not what I want. I'm simply looking to remove this banner pop up that appears no matter what youre doing, watching video, email, etc....
There is no way by default probably will become a custom ROM feature or an app to help.

Thanks man.
I think it's lame that Google would have this feature without an option to disable it. It's annoying during a video to have a banner pop up displaying your new message across the top.

Similar restrictions in lock screen too
So I've been using venom ROMs for years but now they've been discontinued and the Oreo ROM no longer has a feature I find essential, that is heads up notifications for calls, now my question is, is there any other ROM for the U11 which has this or is there a way (without breaking safety net) to add it? Maybe an app or framework?
Any help would be appreciated as without this feature driving with navigation is infuriating.
Many thanks.
Have you tried something like "android auto" and the likes which set your display to be more convenient while driving?.
That doesn't answer my question
You said "maybe an app"... Android auto is an app. Maybe you should be more grateful for the input you receive or maybe reword your posts to reflect exactly what you're looking for.

Hi,
There's an app on Google play store to do what you want. The app calls ''Heads-up Notifications''.

Hi, while that app does add a heads up notification, it doesn't stop the dialer displaying over the whole screen which makes it pointless, I need the dialer not to show only the heads up notification like Venom used to do.
Cheers

Did you ever figure a solution to this?
Maybe disabling "show over others apps" permission for phone app?
Is in settings menu

Bro I assume you are using EMUI 9.1. The option is still there. We can still mark notifications as read or reply to them from notifications. The options are not visible if you are using any dark theme. And options are not visible but they are still present there. Just try tapping a bit below the notification and you will get the options.
I think the font is also black which is the reason it blends in with the theme hence we are not able to view the option.
Hope this helps. Please post a screenshot next time so we will be able to understand the problem easily

i've contacted huawei about this and they said it's about security enhacement of the applock
apps locked with applock can not show the content via notification bar until you unlock it first
and if we still want to view what about notifications or mark them as read we must remove these apps from applock

Oh okay. Thank you for the information. I didn't know about it since I never used any app lock on my phone.
