[ROM] [FACTORY] [FTMA] [R732XXXU2AOI8] [ROOT] Samsung Gear S3 SM-R732 - Samsung Gear S2

WARNING!!!
ONLY FOR SM-R732 (Gear S2 Classic)
TL;DR: This ROM should give root access. It is the internal ROM used in Samsung factories to reset devices, and "su" is included in the rootfs.img in "/bin/su". I don't own this watch, but hopefully this will get you guys started on porting over Android Wear!
This is the default version!!! Functionality is very limited. It allows you to reset all the settings and lock !!!
It is possible to reset the CSC, you must install this version, and then without any CSC file.
Flash at your own risk!!!
Sewn on the instructions:
File here
Step 1: Open Odin and leave it there
Step 2: On your S2 press then hold the Home/Power button until you see the S2 screen shows up "Rebooting..." (picture below)
Step 3: Release the Home/Power button then quick Press it again 03 times, then you will see the screen like picture below. Next step, you need to be a bit quicker.
Step 4: Use the Home/Power button to navigate to "Download (wireless)" option, then Press & Hold the Home/Power button to select. You have to be real quick otherwise your S2 will reboot. Your S2 will flash to the next screen like below.
Step 5: Press the Home/Power button twice, you will see the "[WPS Mode]" change to "[AP Mode]"
Step 6: Go back to your computer and choose the Access point with the same name appears on your S2.
Step 7: Your S2 will show that it's been connected to the IP of your computer.
Step 8: Open back the Odin, your S2 will show up there like this
Step 9: Choose the right file for each Option BL, AP and CSC from the files you extract after downloading. Then press start and wait the Magic comes back.

Hi, NOOB here (not with Odin, not with root, but with this watch).
I got myself Gear S2 BALR edition.
* Can I flash this rom?
* Also can I return easily?
Thanks for developing!

There is another one (COMBINATION-FTMA_R732XXXU2AOI8_Tizen) here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2OlLU7vg4YzOTNWdlFVdXFENG8/view
I can confirm that the COMBINATION-FTMA_R732XXXU2AOI8_Tizen leads to the message "Custom binary blocked by Reactivation Lock" with the result that you cannot access the wireless option anymore

Oh, sorry.

Hi
I am trying to get hold of the stock rom for gear s2 3g ( sm-r735s model) in order to flash gear s2 classic 3g.
I have made up a USB jig to connect through odin as watch locked with re-activation lock and no wifi as result.
Can't find anywhere apart from a few dodgy looking pay sites.
Any ideas ?

I have Tizen TPK of Gear Manager BETA... which ignores RL...
Where can I get this tizen tpk ?
thanks

Gear Manager you can have from me...
But you need Tizen handset to use it... 1 of Z series... no idea if also work on Tizen 3 like SM-Z400F...
But SM-Z130H for sure... I have used it self...
SM-Z300H... because it was designed for...
If SM-R735 is supported...no idea...
You have tried to bypass Init via stupid clicking on Logo?
If not possible... you will find usefull info about Bootloader Version... in Download Menu...
Look into this Video as example...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsOLtlGWOa0
Last R/P info... not RIP... but this f&ing Rollback Prevention """Feature"""...
No idea if this enabled on Gear S2... but for Gear S3 this is Mega KO...
As if you find old Firmware, you can not use it...
Code:

Gear S2 Classic BALR
hi...i am from the Netherlands and my s2 Classic Balr stuck in the boot loop and i tried a hard recovery but still in tge boot loop. Now i wanna try to flash it through odin latest version 3.12.10....but i dont now where to find the (latest) firmware of this watch?
Could someone help me?

Oh! If I knew how to, I would port Android Wear to the S2 right now! It's my first experience with a smartwatch, and I love the fact this one is small enough for my wrist, and it looks gorgeous compared to others available in my country. I know, if I wanted Android Wear I should have bought a Moto 360 maybe (though I dislike the lower dead area on the lower end of the screen) but I got a really good deal for this S2, I couldn't let it pass. Anyway, I hope someone is able to port Android Wear, I'm willing to test when the time comes.

Hi. Can anyone help me connecting my SM-R720 gear s2 via usb to pc to enable flasing using odin?
I'm unable to access download "wireless" mode so I'm hoping there is some sort of diagram of the jig somewhere enabling usage of the 5 spots under the cover to connect it via USB?

You will need to connect to the JTAG pins on the watch for jtag flash. To unbrick your device.
Try to use NetOdin first and then flash recovery and kernel again and then reinstall OS.

Hi,
I have a big problema in my gear S3. I am installed a rom default and then installed this rom. My gear don´t work. Is posible that you say me step by step how install the rom from zero.
Thanks.
@Apirola2
Step 1.
Identify your CORRECT Model Name...
You have SM-R760 OR SM-R770 or something else?
Please, NOT post again something like this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72332829&postcount=29
Best Regards
It seems APJF is too old...
As we have the problem with Downgrade Bootloader...
BQC5 is not yet available for free... as it seems.
But on paid sites you can find it for SM-R770...
So it is leaked. :good:
WARNING!
Combination Firmware BQC2 is available, BUT this is Service/Factory Firmware...
This could lead to other bigger problems... like disabled wifi...
Then only USB cable... can flash this device.
Best Regards
If it is stuck at samsung bootlogo .. go to download mode ( press power button for 5 seconds, when on the screen it says rebooting, press power button 3 times and then select download mode ( wifi ) then go to your computer and select network ( it should say Gear3-xx-xx ) , it will be an adhoc network. now wait for few seconds on the watch you will get msgs like unable to connect to 192.x.x.x but after 10-30 sec it will say connected to 192.x.x.x. Then open NetOdin and select your previous rom that you had. Or do an ugrade to a newer rom.
Will this work if I have firmware R770xxxu2aqc? I would like to flash it to stock (I'm in the US). Google doesn't bring up much of the Classic version only for the Frontier. And I'm a little confused on the installation process. Thank you for your help.

Jajaja! So funny. And yes that's what my gear says. Oh ok. I guess I will have to wait for the future and see if anybody does anything with the Gear S3 Classic. So sad. Thank you for your help.
Gear S2 have Live Demo Units...
SM-R720X
SM-R732X
But I never heard of Live Demo Units from Gear S3... in theory not impossible.
To check it could be enough to enter download mode... and check if you see:
SM-R770
or
SM-R770X
BQC5 is also leaked for SM-R770...

What's new in this version? Is the pay available? Thanks
Hey Guys, I really hope someone's going to know how to fix my problem.
I was an idiot d*ckhead, I didn't read the risks of downgrade before I downloaded this ROM and I fleshed it. I'm not a newbie, but of course it has been bricked. Bootloop and disabled wifi...
Is there any possible way to reanimate my watch (a method for usb flashing or anything) or what should I do?
I was thinking about to give it to Samsung and saying it received an OTA and just died during the update...
Please if anyone can help me, just send me a PM. I've tried to look for those "paying" websites, I wouldn't mind that either.
Thank you so much

Few posts are Pinout related... for soldering wires...
Caution, if you never solder wires to something really tiny... better not try with expensive Gear S3...
Problem... also minimum 1 user failed to connect USB cable to SM-R760...
And I can NOT remember any SM-R770 feedback...

You could try this... before you start to cry...

If you have the same problems with your (bricked) S3 then go to download wirelessly mode en as soon as you see the flower then push the power button 2 seconds en let it go for 1 second, than push it again for 2 seconds en let it go for one and so on til you get him in to download wirelessly mode. Okay, so it seems that this firmware has root access enabled by default, as "su" is locate in /bin/su of the rootfs.img. This means that we can pull images from the device and flash custom images once we figure out how to either port Android Wear over or build TWRP!

I bought early Korean import of gear S3, but I live in US. I did not know SPay would be shut off. Very annoying. Now looking to flash stock ROM that matches my region. I understand this is a common issue.
I have been away from flashing for a long time, but if I understand the information in this forum correctly, flashing a new ROM will automatically cause the S3 to update its region internally. However, downgrading your Tizen version will softbrick the device.
I have SM-R770. Tizen Version 2.3.2.4. Software version BQ--->D<---2. I should NOT attempt to flash this BQ--->C---<2 ROM for risk of softbrick, is this correct?
Please confirm. Thank you!

This is IMHO not correct.
Country/Region aka CSC change require special procedure... with Combination Firmware.

Yes, in main correct...

THEORY, not confirmed yet for Gear S3

NOTE: I had to disable Windows Defender public firewall temporarily for NetOdin to work properly
3. Flash combination firmware
- Load the unzipped .tar.md5 file into the "AP" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking then click "Start". This should take about 10 minutes to complete after clicking "Start".
NOTE: I had left "Automatic reboot" ticked in Odin, so once it completed the watch restarted. No issue, except had to go through step 2 to reconnect the watch to the PC before proceeding to the next step
4. Flash CSC file from stock firmware
- Load the unzipped CSC_xxx.tar.md5 file into the "CSC" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking then click "Start". This should take about 1-2 minutes to complete after clicking "Start".
5. Factory reset
- In your Gear, go to Settings > Gear Info > Reset Gear > Confirm
NOTE: I got a warning at this stage that Reactivation Lock was on. Don't know why I got this message as I had definitely turned it off in step 1. I ignored it (no guts, no glory!) and was fine. Your mileage may vary
6. Set CSC code
- In the Gear, go to the Tizen Keystring app
NOTE: screenshots of what your interface will look like https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74591475&postcount=13)
- Type in the following code exactly: *#272*719434266344#
- You will be taken to a list of CSC codes that you can scroll through. Find the code you want to change to and select it. I used "XSA".
7. Reflash complete current stock ROM
- Load the unzipped CSC_xxx.tar.md5 file into the "CSC" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking.
- Load the unzipped AP_xxx.tar.md5 file into the "AP" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking.
- Load the unzipped BL_xxx.tar.md5 file into the "BL" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking.
- Click "Start". This should take about 15 minutes to complete after clicking "OK".
You are done!
After this, my Gear picked up the OTA update to Tizen 3.0.0.1
So after all of this effort, NAB doesn't currently support Samsung Pay, so I can't 100% confirm this will work, but everything I've read says it should.
Do you have phone audio working through Bluetooth headset?. Or only media audio... Pls let me know. Thanks
I have already upgraded my S3 to Tizen 3. Am I still able to unlock Samsung pay using these instructions or am I too late?
At the moment we can downgrade to BQC2 from CQK3...
Please check first if you have CQK6...
Best Regards
Can someone please provide a step by step guide to downgrade from Tizen 3?
Thanks!
This guide works great, thank you so much!
Successfully downgraded from Tizen 3.0 simply following the instructions and using ROMs from 1st post, changed region and after that SPay started working!

Nothing to worry follow the steps.if you want to put csc as XAR.then also it will enable spay.
Has anyone from Canada done this yet? Is there a benefit to switch the CSC back to the original (i.e. Original = Canada, flash US, then restore back to Canada) after installing Samsung Pay?
I have updated my S3 to R760XXU2CQL1. Where do I find this firmware if I need the current one in one of the steps?
R760XXU2CQL1 as Odin package?
At the moment only on paid sites... for money...
But in theory... depend on your CSC... you can reach CQL1 via FOTA update...
We have for SM-R760:
Code:
BQC5
BQH1
CQK3
As Full Firmware for use with netOdin...
If somebody share... CQL1 also possible.
Best Regards
@adfree, this is first post on S3. I can see your huge contribution in S3 development.
I am in India. I have bought S3 from UAE on 2nd Jan 2018 and was already updated Tizen 3. Yest got update R760XXU2CQL1..(battery improvement update)
Samsung pay was not working by holding back button since start. (really surprising, how samsung understand that we are in India and then disabling button)
So my question... Can I follow all above steps to get samsung pay..
Well, it says so under "Software version" in Settings. Guess it's the latest battery quick-update.
I bought a german S3, which Samsung Pay obviously won't work for me in Sweden. Which I wanna fix with NetOdin. But as I need the current firmware, it seems I hit a wall....
So I can't downgrade to R760XXU2BQC5?
@swasha123
Yes, you can use steps from CQL1...
Own risk!
@welph
Same for you.
You can downgrade from CQL1... to change CSC...
But you can not direct jump after Combination Firmware to CQL1...
As CQL1 not yet available for free...
But you can flash for instance BQC5, BQH1 or CQK3... then update over the air... aka FOTA.
The only question is... which CSC you want to use...
XAR for US ?
Or you want try something else...
Best Regards
Edit 1.
For German DBT I am sure this Firmware history for FOTA:
Code:
BQC5-->CQK3-->CQL1
For XAR.... US CSC:
Code:
BQC5-->BQH1-->CQK3-->CQL1
But for Sweden... no idea which CSC...

Yes, I guess XAR would be the one I choose. I know about NEE for us in the nordic countries.
But if I downgrade to some version which is closest to CQL1 with Tizen3, which would that be?
And will the Gear S3 fetch new fw-versions like it does for me now?
But if I downgrade to some version which is closest to CQL1 with Tizen3,

You could update with netOdin to CQK3... this is the old Tizen 3 Firmware...
Then FOTA update package is only 20 MB...
CQK3 for SM-R760 is here:

@adfree thanks for all the help!
@adfree, as I want to install Samsung Pay.. I am already on CQL1
But then combination firmware is BQC1..
Rest I know.. It will work.
Will BQC1 make any trouble to CQL1 downgrade?
Will BQC2 make any trouble to CQL1 downgrade?

You can downgrade from 2CQL1 to 2BQC2
Own risk!
Because few users have no luck
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/help/wireless-mode-enter-gear-s3-sm-r760-t3710855
So sometimes something goes wrong... so it is not 100 % riskfree.

But many users have success. :good:

Edit 1.
Combination Firmware I have...
Code:
[up_vnROM.net]_COMBINATION-FTMA_R775TUVU1AQC3.tar.rar
Hi @adfree thank you for the combination file for R775T. I have been trying to remove the 'reactivation on' on a T-Mobile Classic R775T via the SDB kit you provided and enter the commands via*ansicon;
sdb connect 192.168.0.xxx
sdb root on
sdb push empty.bin /opt/usr/media/
sdb shell dd if=/opt/usr/media/empty.bin of /dev/mmcblk0p15
sdb shell reboot download
But the reactivation is still on. (Picture attached)
Currently running on R775TUVU1BQL1 firmware
I'm using your combination file posted above R_775TUVU1AC3
Any help would be appreciated.
@vivalalibertad

Hi @adfree,

Could you share the solution with me as well?

Question Root Galaxy watch 4

Hi my name is Gavin if you've been looking in the OnePlus 8T forums I've asked some stuff about smart watches I found the galaxy watch4 and I wanna know if I can unlock the bootloader and root the watch it runs wear OS so it should work if you can root the watch please send me a step by step guide
As of now no one can
Would this work?
1 go to boot mode or that one menu that allows you to access the recovery and click unlock bootloader
2 after the device factory resets you setup the watch
3 go to Android recovery
4 download magisk
5 on the watch go to apply update from ADB
6 rename magisk apk to magisk.zip and ADB sideload magisk.zip would this work? If not can someone figure out why? Or if you already know put why this wouldn't work put it in a comment thanks
@adfree would be best answering why this wouldn't work
Short summary.
- No Combination Firmware leaked
- No Stock Firmware leaked
- No Service Manual nor TP for USB connection...
So no dump of Firmware related Bytes from Watch...
IMHO this means if you do tooo much adventure...
A
You kill Knox... so few Samsung Apps and Features not work anymore proper...
B
You kill FOTA Chain...
IMHO bad... as no Firmware leak
So if you have success... no newer Firmware...
C
You kill Firmware and you need Firmware for Repair attempt...
NO Firmware exists.
Please remember this is Android 11 based...
Best Regards

Ok I am new to wearOS and Android in general so that's really why I even bothered to ask why that wouldn't work
I think the default recovery would perform checksum tests on the update.
