how to get back to stock after root - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

Hello,
Can someone please direct me how to go back to stock after rooting my phone and flashing RR with Franco kernel. I need to give it back to google. Also is it possible to lock bootloader again?
Thank you.

Simple process download factory image for your device, put it in bootloader mode, extract the .Zip and run flash-all.bat
Wait till it finishes setup device.
Then boot back to bootloader and use the adb command to relock bootloader

What's the command for relocking bootloader?

https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel/development/pixel-image-t3477107
Is this the link for the image?

Google pixel factory image. And look the code up, the more you research the less you will have to ask, it will make doing things alot easier, adb commands are very easy

Hey guys, i've seemed to set myself up for a soft brick upon me not reading everything clearly and correctly.
I was trying to take an easy route and simply misread a few numbers.
I really need help here, I unlocked my bootloader then proceeded to use a 1 click root solution from here; http://android.modaco.com/topic/327000-08-aug-grj22-colour-revert-superboot-rooting-the-nexus-s/
I just went back to stock after wanting to start clean when I got this phone, anyway I didn't see that this was intended for 2.3 where as my phone was running 2.3.4 and thats where I think I went wrong.
I can access bootloader, after trying this method the phone just boots and hangs at the unlock screen and nothing else. I don't have recovery so I can't get into that, I tried locking and unlocking the bootloader to see if that would help but no luck.
Where do I go from here?

If you can access the bootloader, you're fine. Just install ADB on your computer and flash a custom recovery image. From there, you can flash a ROM.

im trying to push a recovery img from cmd and it's telling me "error: cannot load clockworkXXXXXXXX
I think you may not have entered the full file path when pushing the recovery image.

the very last part about unlocking the bootloader
and it just keeps giving me that error
Okay, been awhile since I did the whole unlocking bootloader/flashing recovery thing. If I remember correctly, in the command prompt, you should navigate to fastboot which is located in <whatever you named your Android SDK folder>/platform-tools folder. Also, place your recovery image in the same folder. Then enter the command from the tutorial. "fastboot flash recovery <image recovery file name>"
sent you a PM
a huge thanks to deejaylobo for helping me out, a folder wasnt renamed so I had a hard time pushing recovery but he got me back on my feet!
thanks again!!

Boot to the bootloader, select fastboot, then plug it in to your PC. Now on your PC, where you have adb and fastboot installed, open a command prompt and type 'fastboot oem lock'. This will relock your bootloader and allow you to run a stock AT&T RUU. (downloaded here http://d-h.st/bS4)
After you install the stock RUU you will need to unlock the bootloader again to start flashing custom roms. If you need more help let me know.

I'm really afraid there's nothing you can do. Before relocking the bootloader, you must go back to an approved stock firmware. (See, when you rooted it, you changed it.)

I unrooted my device, so then after I can lock my bootloader. I'm just wondering if that's how I was supposed to do it.
If you have downloaded the full image from Google servers, try if you can fastboot using the boot image from the full image. It that boots your phone, you could try enabling unlock, get into fastboot to unlock for flashing. You can then flash the full image from unlocked fastboot

Is there any way you could lead my step by step. I don't want to screw up my phone even more. + I'm new to the community and don't know much.
You can use the fastboot continue command.
This will boot up your phone normally and then you will be able to go to developer settings and enable oem unlocking again.
After this you will be able to unlock from fastboot again.

I can't lock the bootloader. HELP!!!

Hi guys, I need help, because I can't relock my bootloader. I have Honor 8 L09C432
I was on Carbon ROM and I had TWRP installed, and I wanted to go back to stock ROM, so I followed a procedure that I found in a comment on some thread.
( This is a screenshot of a comment that I followed, if that means anything to you ) https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4385584&stc=1&d=1515621906
I successfully returned to EMUI 5.0 and I'm currently on B360, and I wanted to update to B381. I got an OTA, I downloaded it, but installation failed, and that's, I guess, because the bootloader is unlocked.
I tried to lock the bootloader with some adb commands:
-adb devices ( my device would appear )
-adb reboot bootloader
-fastboot oem lock * Bootloader code *
and then I would get a message that says " FAILED (remote: Command not allowed) "
( Here's also a screenshot of that too ) https://dl.xda-developers.com/4/3/8/5/5/8/5/Capture2.PNG?key=L_OuO3DslYw7HJaIJW-mGw&ts=1515622403
I enabled USB Debugging and OEM unlock options in Developer options, but it still doesn't work...
If someone's knows why this is happening, or how can I update the phone without even locking, I would really appreciate that, thank you in advance, and If I didn't mention something that may be important, please tell me, so I can help you to help me
Use fastboot oem relock instead of lock.
Note that relocking isn't the same as locking, for that you'd have to flash something like MM via dload which automatically locks the bootloader. Some other official packages might work, too
Edit: Also you need to be in fastboot mode to actually use the fasboot commands. (power+vol. down)
I'm not sure if an unlocked bootloader should actually break the OTA but it's been a while.
You can just download the flashable (for TWRP) versions from FF ( the full ota mf-pv) and use those otherwise
Sent from my OnePlus5 using XDA Labs
I tried Fastboot oem relock too, but that also didn't work, and I was in fastboot mode when I typed in the commands. I don't have TWRP since I installed stock ROM ( EMUI ). I guess you are suggesting that I should downgrade to MM, so then the bootloader will be locked? Still, thank you for your time and help!
You don't need to lock the bootloader in order to take an update. However, you must have the stock boot and recovery .img loaded for it to work. Here is a link for instructions on how to do this. Keep in mind that my instructions only talk about extracting the boot.img, but in your case it is probably best to extract both the boot and recovery.img just like the video shows. Use the B360 firmware to extract the files from. This will ensure all of your partitions are stock and that will hopefully allow you to take the update OTA.

UNLOCK/LOCK Bootloader For ZenFone 3 ZE520KL/ZE552KL

Mod info:
Method doesn't work anymore and will result in a hard brick.
Make sure you’ve backed up all of your IMPORTANT DATA before unlocking/relocking bootloader
I am not responsible for bricked devices and dead SD cards. YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
1) Download the Factory RAW ROM here:

6) Unzip the files and click on Install adb-setup-1.4.3.exe (You can find this in Bootloader Toolkit)
Hold Shift and Right Click on any area in the folder (click on ”Open Powershell window/Open Command Window)
Now copy and paste this: fastboot devices
If it shows your serial number of ZenFone 3, you are good to go
Now copy and paste this: fastboot oem lock
Congratulations, your device has been locked (You can see the Bootloader status on FASTBOOT splash screen)
P.S: If you unlocked officially and you want to relock your bootloader, OTA does not work because your Serial Number has been recorded by ASUS.

So I went through this steps, and seems to work well so far. But when I went to update using the flash tool, the tool itself told me there was a newer version of the raw firmware, more specifically the
WW_ZE520KL_15.0410.1712.31_M3.10.47.16_Phone-user.raw
So I googled, and found it for download here:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=746010030569949679
Meaning that one can go straight to Oreo, instead of upgrading over and over.
Edit: Just tested, and it works! Got oreo straight!

I did not understand one detail about locking the phone. I got that it is only possible to lock/unlock once you have installed the factory_raw image. Ok.
So I wanted to lock my phone and then install the latest WW_ZE520KL_15.0410.1712.31_M3.10.47.16_Phone-user.raw. In this case the Asus flash tool gives an error saying that your phone is locked and can not install the image.
At the same time, if I install the image, and then try to lock it it is too late, since the lock command wont work anymore...
So, after all, what should I do to lock it and get the OS installed afterwards?
Ok, I figured it out.
So you can actually LOCK it, and then install the WW_ZE520KL_15.0410.1712.31_M3.10.47.16_Phone-user.raw. However, after the phone reboots, the Asus Flash program will try to erase it from the fastboot, which it cant, so it gives an error message.
So one has to go to recovery mode, and wipe and format partitions manually before it can actually boot.

The error was because the Asus Flash tool was trying to wipe the memory after rebooting in fasboot mode, which It was unable to do. So one have to boot in recovery mode to wipe manually so it can boot.
(I've dropped the link to the oreo user raw image. Maybe it is worth putting it in the main post)

That doesn't matter, If ASUS Flash Tool gives error such as Error 5 (FRP error) / Flash image still persist, ignore it. If your phone asks for PIN and it's incorrect, Enter recovery mode and wipe data and cache.
The reason why I don't suggest users to flash Oreo directly is because RIL might not work.
Edit: You can flash directly to 15.0410.1712.31 RAW firmware
