[MOD] 7.1.1 One Percent Battery Mod with Aroma installer - Nexus 5X Themes and Apps

This Mod will make your System capable of running a custom
one percent battery mod and includes 7 for you to try. This is for stock 7.1.1 only but for those that are running something different, feel free to upload your Systemui.apk and framework-res.apk and I'll take a look. If you are odexed I will also need your system/framework folder so I can try and deodex your systemui.apk myself.
You need to flash the base first (very last file). This will give you the necessary smali files. The base comes with the Pixel NavBar icons and animation. There is a mod you can flash to revert to stock Nexus Navbar. These battdry icons come from the icon add-on from Ticklefish's famous ticklemyandroid theming tool. It is the best tool ever with unmatched support. Here is a link.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633333
There are additional battery mods there as these are but a few. If you ever feel like getting into modding his is an excellent tool especially for decompiling and recompiling. I highly recommend it.
A preview of the battery mod chosen will show itself before you actually flash the mod. If you should come across some battery icons of your own you like all you need to do is replace mine with yours. They are located in the SystemUI.apk in the res/ drawable-xhdpi folder. Hide the original stock battery using System UI Tuner.
Special Thanks to Ticklefish for making Theming as easy as possible.
Thanks to Charles_l and Erhany for the Smali's

[Q] Help with battery mod

Hi XDA
Im trying to make a battery mod for my HTC Sensation, but i need some help.
I have the framework-res.apk for my rom (Android Revolution HD) and 100 pngs.
I need help with compiling the stat_sys_battery.xml so it uses all the 100 pngs instead of htcs 7
I also need to know if its okay to just replace the files in the framework-res.apk using 7-zip, and replace that with the framework-res.apk in a working battery mod i downloaded, since i dont know how to make the update script
Thank you for you help

Sorry, but it's a bit more complicated than just opening the .apk in 7-zip or winrar. You need to decompile the .apk... the easiest way is to use a program called apk manager. Search on XDA, and you will find it.
Then, in the decompiled folder, you will have a /drawable/ folder. You need to re-code the stat_sys_battery.xml to include all the pngs, as well as the zzz_stat_sys_battery_1.xml.
In addition to the 100 pngs you already have, you will also need some charging animation icons and a stat_sys_battery_unknown.png icon that all match your battery icon theme.
After redoing the 3 xmls in the drawable folder, and replacing all the necessary pngs, you then need to recompile and sign your apk with the new files.
I've attached a sample of the 3 xmls for you to use as a reference.
If you are looking to get a battery mod the quick and easy way, then I have a bunch in a thread HERE. If you are looking to learn how to do it yourself (Which I highly recommend for the learning experience it will provide), then search around and look for some guides on compiling and decompiling to help you on your way. You can also download any of the battery mods from the thread I linked to, and decompile them for examples of a working framework-apk that has been modded.
Keep in mind, when experimenting with this, you ABOSLUTELY WILL cause your phone to not be able to boot up. Make sure you have a nandroid backup ready.
Good luck.
Thank you!
Wow, this is gonna take a bit longer than i though B)
Btw, i was using one of your mods, but i found that it wasnt smooth enough + the icon didnt have enough detail

Installing Custom Icon Pack Problem

K, so i'm running RCmix3D Runny 4.0 ROM (Sweet ROM btw) and i've found an icon pack that i want to use, not in an APK format, just have it in a folder as of now, both installed on my desktop and in my media folder on my phone. i really don't want to use Launcher Pro or anything like that to keep the icon pack installed, so i was wondering if anyone knew a way to install the icon pack with a program that doesn't need to be consistently ran to keep the icon pack installed.
i'm not completely retarded when it comes to ROMs, but i am new, so please, be gentle. lol
You would have to use a theme pack made for your Rom if you want to just flash it. If you know how to extract framework apks you could swap out the PNG images yourself.

There is no tutorial that I know of. Learning how to do most of this stuff requires time searching and reading on the internet. I use linux with dsixdas kitchen to have a working folder of Rom. You could just pull out framework-res.apk and systemui.apk from Rom to work with as well. Decompile apk, trade out PNG's retaining original file name, recompile and change extension back to .apk. now you have the apk with different icons. Either build Rom with these or push them to phone and reboot. There are many other places where PNG images are stored as well. Com.HTC.resources.apk is another one for example.

[Theme] Battery Icons (UBKPD and maybe more)

Hello everybody, i got sick of my battery icon and wanted a change, but i am with UBKPD (2.3.6. for Argentina and some other countries of Latinamerica) and couldn't use any other theme or part of it.
Thanks to the thread of umarian and other threads all over XDA and HTC ManĂa (this in spanish) i figure out how to change my battery icon.
I attach diferent .rar files. In there you will find a folder with icons AND the file: framework-res.apk of UBKPD according to the respective icon.
Of course, you can change icons of your Firmware whatever it is (using this icons or those you want) following the steps of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431048
The icons i've used are those provided by umarian in that thread, some others that i picked up from other threads with mods for other firmwares. None are creations of mine. SO, IF YOU LIKE THIS, THANKS HIM FOR CIRCLE BATTERY ICONS.
If you have UBKPD firmware or you want to trie if it's usefull in yours, follow this steps (you would need to be root and to have a file manager with root permissions):
a.) make a backup, just in case. We are going to touch system files!!
b.) copy the file framework-res.apk of the folder with icons you want;
c.) copy it to the folder: system in your phone, there, change permissions to rw-, r--, r--;
d) move the file framework-res.apk from system to system/framework
d) reboot and it's done.
Advice: However you got all the icons to go 1% to 1%, i still couldn't make the changes to apply the icon to work from 1% to 1%.
Please, also, if anyone have a claim on the battery icon, let me know.
Since most users are on custom themes, ICS to be precise, replacing framework-res will result in loss of the theme.
So if you can share the png files then it will be great since it only involves drag n drop using 7zip.
Or you can explain in OP to copy the png from any of your attachment and replacing them in the one's current framework-res

Thanks. My explanation seems it isn't good. Inside the folder I uploaded are the png files plus the framework file. If someone wants to use the png files there are they, separate from the framework file.
On the other hand, in the link I let is the explanation on how can port the png files (icons) to the firmware they want. However, I don't know if this procedure works with ice cream sandwich. It works 100% in ginger .

[Q] want to bundle custom framework mods for stock ics

So I love my tweaked and modded ICS 4.0.4 rom. It's blazing fast, killer battery life and I couldn't be happier.. okay I lied. there's some framework-res.apk mods I would realllllly love to flash but I have not idea how to bundle/bake a flash package that includes the ones I want.
I would like to have;
1. Extended reboot menu
2. Either the WP7 or Sense 4.0 multitasking switcher
3. The full album art lockscreen mod
4. any others I don't know about?
But they are all separate framework-res.apk 's and flashing them over eachother either removes the previous mod all together or borks the system.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

It hasn't even been a day yet lol.
You'll need to find out how each tweak was implemented (you can do this by browsing individual decompiled frameworks), then use one of them as a base and implement the other tweaks. Decompile, tweak, recompile and sign/zipalign. For Odexed rooms like stock you'll also need to create a .odex file. Unsure how to do that myself.

[MOD][THEMING] G3 Statusbar Modding and Theming

Hey everyone so I am bringing to you a mod that I have been working on for the g2, it is a simple mod that can arrange icons and even theme them to look differently. Hopefully everyone enjoys the mod and whatever may be in stored for the future.
The Screenshots:
G3 Stock and IOS Icons
G3 L Icons
Download links and instructions can be found in the second post
Future Updates Include:
-Any Request?
Any Bugs
- NO BUGS That I Know of
A big thanks goes to:
@shooterlgk and @uknowme4me who have done all the testing and made it possible for me to bring you guys this mod.
@Ticklefish and @rastigo for there tools, guides and the help they have provided to me in the g2
Important Information and Download Links
Instruction Please Read
How To Restore:
Since the mod is made to support all of the g3 models it would be a rather difficult to maintain a bunch of systemui restore zips, so instead I designed one restore zip which anyone can use:
-download the odex or deodex version depends on your rom:
odex systemui restore zip
deodex systemui restore zip
-unzip on your pc or phone
-copy your lgsystemui.apk and lgsystemui.odex(if your rom deodex this won't be there) into system/priv-app
-rezip and now you have a flashable restore zip
IF YOU DO NOT BACKUP YOUR SYSTEMUI THEN DON'T COMPLAIN IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
How to install:
It is recommended to have custom recovery to be able to use the mod but if you don't then you can just extract the systemui and replace yours with it:
-using root explorer delete you systemui.apk/odex
-copy the modded systemui and add rw-r--r-- permissions
-reboot and enjoy

How to install? I installed to recovery, but nothing changes
Is it possible to remove the ugly gray gradient in the status bar? Solid black or even solid gray would be much better.
Installation instructions?

-works on both deodex and odexed roms
-works on multiple devices
-does not replace system apps
-no need for xposed so it works with art
Hopefully everyone enjoys the mod and whatever may be in stored for the future.

Will take a look the layout doesn't specify a specific color for the statusbar, just calls out to an image but should not be hard to implement a mandatory color on statusbar and as mentioned in op I do not own a G3 so don't know much about it

Hey what are you using g3 tweaksbox for, I do not own the g3 and the person who did all testing never had any problems on both odex/deodexed systemui, he also did not use xposed but until now O have never had any problems using the mod in combination with xposed on the g2
Okay G3 851, flashed IOS styles pack...nothing changed except my normal icons are on the left. Flashed Left icon style pack and same thing? I have G3 tweakbox and I know you don't need that with this mod. But just in case that could be the culprit I turned off status bar mods then flashed but still nothing...wish I knew why?

the styles packs are designed to only move the icons around and you need to flash the icon pack if you want the ios icons; the reason for this is because not everyone including myself like the ios icons but like the ability to have a different looking statusbar, shooterlgk who was the main tester tested the mod using d851 t-mo variant so the mod should work for you no problem if it isn't working than pm me with your framework folder and the lgsystemui.apk/odex and I will get to the bottom of the problem

no worries I had forgotten to put a little explanation into how they work(I had to do same in g2 thread when I rebased mod to use vrthemer to be able to support more roms without needing so many zips) but I added some info and it will help with anyone who has any further confusions
Just tried this on my d855 but flashed in recovery and no change. Have got xposed and tweakbox running don't know if that makes a difference.
Edit Just uninstalled xposed and flashed again but still no change.
not that i don't appreciate what the op had done, don't get me wrong. i do like the idea of making your android "different".
but i just look at it as a sad thing to see. i mean if you want ios theme, if you love the ios theme, why don't you get iphone instead?
nice to see the creativity though...

This mod only over writes the stock icons so you need to change your status bar icons back to stock in tweakbox....otherwise tweakbox over rides. Found this out myself last night.

I understand what your saying but while droid reigns supreme to the iPhone....the iPhone does have a few nice things like the signal dots...they look slick! And all this does is change the stat bar icons..not the whole phone.
Mods like this are brilliant because you can combine the best of both phones and don't have to settle for one or the others limits.
