No. I read some quote the other day from a developer of one of the apps (can't remember which) and he said Sony hasn't given access to this, so ATM they can't make apps that show this. Sony has to grant that "permission" first.
I'll like it too!
That will be so simple, please add this feature!!

Not so simple I suspect.
Since the app code is running on the phone, and only displaying on the watch, it has no idea what the battery voltage on the watch is. It can easily see things on the phone though.

But the watch shows the % for example in low battery warning (15% or 10%). Just show it continuously on the bar
Is there a way I can change minimum brightness of my phone without using an app that must run in the background all the time?
Not sure I follow, but isn't the stock brightness adjustment enough?

Obviously not or why would he post in this thread?
To your question OP, Im pretty sure you can only go as dull as your display panel supports. Now I would presume the ROM you are running would be optimized to allow to go to its minimum brightness but if it wasn't then maybe you'd be able to edit it manually

I've known ES Task Manager's screen adjustment menu to allow a slightly higher and lower brightness than is allowed by default.
It also doesn't have to be running in the background to work.

I'm not sure but this app might help - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.pruss.superdim&hl=en
It says "RootDim lets you dim LCD screens (and a few OLED ones) to very low levels--lower than the OS normally allows (that's why you need root privileges)"
It doesn't seem to be a tinting app

If you are on stock AOSP and you have xposed you can install gravitybox, which will allow lowering of brightness levels.

I haven't tried the apps from this list to see if they need to run in the background, and I am guessing they most probably do, but perhaps you can give them a shot - http://xslab.com/2014/07/6-android-apps-to-adjust-screen-brightness-settings/

I believe those are all screen tinting apps that must run in the background thank you though.
Sorry that none of the suggestions worked for you...
Just out of curiosity, what is your reason for not wanting a background app? I personally don't like them myself, but mainly because they have a constant icon on the notification bar (some apps let you make that transparent but it still blocks a spot up there)
I tried out the Screen Filter Xposed Module which TimeAndroid suggested and there is no icon on the status bar, nor is there any app running in the 'Recent apps' if you try and close open apps. There is a slider if you pull down the status bar which I actually find convenient.

I would like to lower my minimum brightness to make it easier on the eyes at night and improve battery life when I don't need the screen so bright. If the app is running in the background, it is counterproductive I believe since the app will decrease your battery life.

I really doubt the background app for this, is causing any battery life loss to make any impact whatsoever. Any savings in battery life from a dimmed screen would make up for it, many many times over.

Hi
So I checked with the developer of Screen Filter in this thread here and he has confirmed it does not run in the background. He has provided details to show that battery is not consumed by using this module. While the filter will give ease to the eyes, it will only save battery if you have an AMOLED screen and not an LCD screen.

Device Model: Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2
Hello Friends
Please post the customizations you made in your stock rom without root
You can post anything that makes our phone better
It will be really helpful
I will post everything i did to my device
Most of the below mods work in every device running Android Nougat and Android Oreo
Note: This is not the Original thread
Original thread is Here
I have just copied OP of my zenfone max pro m1's thread
I am not sure that all of the below mods works in max pro m2 because i don't have the device
Please report if anything not working
It really took me a lot of time searching

Tips
◽️ Change Display Size
Open Settings/Display/Display Size and Set it to small
Using small Display Size Makes Things a little bit Smaller
You can see more contents in the Screen
◽️ Change Animation Scale
(You Can Also use Quick Setting App to change Animation Scale. You just need to add animations tiles in quick settings
and from quick settings click on tile and choose your preffered animation scale)
Change Animation Scales to Make your phone a little bit faster
Use Adb and Run Following Commands
adb shell
settings put global window_animation_scale 0.75
settings put global transition_animation_scale 0.75
settings put global animator_duration_scale 0.75
Note:Recommended Animation Scale is 0.75 But You can use custom animation scales
I know there is an option of changing animation scales from developer options in settings
But you can only set animation 0.5 or permanently disable it
◽️Always Use Night Light
Blue Light Coming From Screen Damages Photoreceptors in our eyes .These Photoreceptors can not be Regenerated or Repared. It is Making us blind.
I have permanently turned on night light. You should also keep it on. Night light Filters out blue light.

Works only half of the times.
It doesn't always work. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Once it stops working, the only solution is to uninstall and reinstall it many times and clear data in settings and keep trying and then it works, but after sometimes it's again not working. Gcam worked perfectly on my asus zenfone max pro m1, but in this phone front camera portrait not working and also EIS is not working perfectly in videos. I thought Google camera will solve problems of this phone's camera but no.
If anyone knows gcam developers like arnova8g2 than please request him to look into this matter.
Also HDR+ enhanced mode doesn't work half of the time.
Found a solution for front camera portrait problem in Gcam.
I have found a solution to this problem. Whenever your portrait mode malfunctions just click a rear camera portrait and front camera portrait starts working again. I'm happy now.

Hello everyone,
Once again, I'm presenting to you an all-new Always On Display app for all android devices running Android 6.0 and up. This app is the remake of my old App which was only for Samsung. Now it works on any android device. If you don't know what actually Always On Display is, It is a feature that shows important information such as Time, Date, Battery, Notifications, etc on your screen when it is not being used. This feature works best with devices that have an AMOLED screen, as the pixel goes off so the power consumption is very less.
This app has many improvements from its older version such as more battery efficiency, better performance, new features, and many more.
Key features are:
Android 6.0+ Supported
Screen oritentation option
Paged clock with new watchfaces

Dear dev, this is the best AOD app i've tried (and i have tried maaaaany app).. I'll test for battery drain (Samsung a20e), but for now, well done!
A whole new look with new clock faces is coming soon...
Great APP, can you add more timeout options ? the best will be custom timeout
